A Pedigreed Rocker with Deluxe Appointments

The Rickenbacker 360 is the deluxe version of the 330. In addition to the 330's jangly maple tones and classic good vibes, the 360 gives you rounded horns, a contoured top edge that rolls into back binding, and iconic triangle ("shark fin") fingerboard inlays. Though most of these updates are cosmetic, one of the coolest upgrades to the 360 is the Rick-O-Sound stereo output. This sends each of the Hi-gain pickups to its own amplifier, or straight into a recording medium for instant stereo guitars. The Rickenbacker was loved by artists like George Harrison and Roger McGuinn for its shimmering chord voicings, and Sweetwater is sure contemporary players will enjoy its top-class tones as well.

All-maple construction provides a bright foundation

Everything but the Rickenbacker 360's fingerboard is made from high-grade maple. Maple's density is partly responsible for the 360's famous sustain and top-end jangle and shimmer. Maple is also very stable, aiding in maintaining the structural integrity of the neck. The thick rosewood fingerboard adds a touch of warmth and harmonic richness to this otherwise bright instrument. Dot inlays give it the traditional 360 look.

Hi-gain pickups and 5-knob layout allow for a wide range of tones

The heart and soul of all Rickenbackers are the proprietary electronics. In the 360 electric guitar you'll find a pair of Hi-gain single-coils. These pickups deliver the stringiness of many other single-coils, but with an aggressive cut that has driven so many rhythm and lead guitar tracks through the decades. A 5-knob control layout with "blend" knob gives you a wide range of sounds to play with.

Stereo Rick-O-Sound output opens up a palette of sonic possibilities

Rickenbacker spec'd the 360 with two output jacks. The first is a standard mono output. The second is a stereo Rick-O-Sound output, which outputs both pickups as a seperate signal. Just think about the possibilities! You can feed your 360's neck pickup into a clean American tweed for bass definition, then out your bridge pickup to an overdriven British stack for raucous tube grit. This option is also great for studio performers. By sending one signal to two sources, you can get an instant stereo track with only one performance.

Magnificent!

Outstanding guitar, shipped promptly and arrived quickly. It's a ric, what more needs be said, you probably need one.

Salute to Todd Cotten at Sweetwater, an absolutely capital fellow who did a great job following up with me to get this beauty.

Rickenbacker 360-6 Mapleglo

I've had 5 Ric's over the years so I knew what to expect. What I didn't expect was the help and professional input and setup of the guitar including a photo shoot and 55 point inspection before it was shipped to me. Sales engineer Ed Nystrom was very helpful and informative. Very knowledgeable guy. My wife and I have performed in Southern Oregon for over 35 years and have purchased many thousands of dollars worth of gear. Finding Sweetwater was a real bonus. I love my Rickenbacker , Incredible care in manufacture by a company that puts quality and playability in their guitars.
Music background: Played professionally since I was 15. I play guitar ,drums and keyboards. In bands over the years we played rock, blues and country.

Beautiful Guitar in Looks and Sound

I have been playing guitar (or trying to, I'm an amateur!) for 50 years. My electric guitar for most of those years is a Japanese knock-off of a Les Paul. It's a good guitar, but I have always wanted a Rickenbacker. I just love that chimey sound, plus I think the Ricks are the coolest looking guitars. I finally decided to spend the money and buy myself a gift. Only problem is finding one. NOBODY has Ricks in stock. Many of their models are on a waiting list of at least six months. So I contacted Sweetwater. The sales engineer Tommy Lansidel was extremely helpful and easy to work with. We talked through the various models and I decided on a 360 Mapleglo. Not in stock, of course, and Tommy said to expect a wait of 3 to 4 months. So I reserved one. Luckily for me Sweetwater received my guitar in about five weeks! Tommy had it shipped out ASAP. When it delivered I was a bit nervous because I had never actually played a Rick. Crazy, I know, but that's hard to do when nobody has them in stock. Anyway, I was floored at how beautiful it is, and it plays like a dream. The difference between my "good" guitar (and it really is) and a top-tier guitar like a Rickenbacker is amazing. I absolutely love this guitar. Thank you to Sweetwater for helping me find this guitar.

Great guitar!

It's been a couple months since I purchased this guitar. My initial impression was wow and after a couple months my opinion has not changed. I've had a chance to see how it records and mixes with various pedals and it's really off the charts good. The Mapleglo wasn't my first choice but with limited supply of Rics these days, I wanted to try it and have not been disappointed. I don't know if it's true about the Maplego allowing the wood to breath and how that affects the overall sound; it holds true to that Rickenbacker sound that we've all heard from famous artists like the The Beatles, REM, Tom Petty and others. I worked with Paul Lea and he has always went out of the way to get orders out the door quick, thanks Paul!

Pros:
Quality and craftsmanship
Beautiful clean tones and light overdrive is great
Records well and has a very distinct sound
Possible collector guitar and holds value over time

Cons:
Your guitar tech may roll his eyes at you when you bring it into the shop, not as easy to setup
Expensive
Wish Rickenbacker offered neck profile similar to Fender. I'm not a big fan of the skinny and flat fret board, although you get used to it.
Music background: Rock bands and home recordings. Playing for more than 15 years

Wonderful Instrument !

Very pleased with this guitar right out of the box! It arrived on time and ready to go! Kept pushing off buying a 360 during the many years I've been playing (since '65-'66) even though I love the sound, the look and the music style you find these mostly involved with. I thought I could get that sound with other guitars...and they're close, but not the actual Rickenbacker sound...and look! Classic and timeless! The Fireglo and Jetglo finishes are perhaps more recognized and while Rickenbacker uses maple wood primarily in their product line....I'm a big fan of seeing the maple, the grain, etc and the mapleglo and couldn't be more pleasing! Even as late in life as I am now...I'm enjoying this instrument immensely already and plan to continue to do so for years to come! I particularly am looking forward to experimenting with the Rick-O-Sound feature, running the pickups through separate effects processing.
