The Paiste 2002 series delivers a classic sound

This is the sound of rock. Paiste's 2002 series cymbals have helped defined the genre since their release 1971. Today you'll hear these cymbals in virtually every flavor of contemporary music. Made with CuSn8 Bronze (aka 2002 Bronze), Paiste 2002 cymbals are versatile and work well for a variety of settings: classic rock, blues, progressive metal, fusion, funk, R&B, and gospel. When you need a cymbal that's familiar, brilliant, and clear - one with powerful projection for the stage - Sweetwater drummers recommend the Paiste 2002 series.

Paiste - a tradition of innovation

Headquartered in Switzerland, Paiste meets the creative needs of drummers and percussionists with innovative cymbals, gongs, and bronze percussion instruments. Founded at the beginning of the 20th century, Paiste lays claim to a number of cymbal firsts, including the first use of 8% bronze, the wavy-edged hi-hat bottom cymbal, the bell-less flat ride, unlathed hammered cymbals, color-coated cymbals, China cymbals with a downturned edge, and the invention of their Signature Bronze Alloy. World-class drummers such as Bill Bruford, Stewart Copeland, and Vinnie Colaiuta have long relied on Paiste cymbals to forge their signature sounds - and you can, too!

Paiste 10" 2002 Splash Cymbal Features:
  • A full-sounding splash cymbal with a responsive and explosive sound
  • Lively intensity with short sustain will allow you to add quick accents to your playing
  • Medium weight strikes the perfect balance between brightness and durability
  • Soft-to-medium volume adds subtle accents to your playing

Reviews

Easy does it
Might not want to hit this so hard that you bend it...it's not a heavy crash! I've played everything and I haven't bent or cracked a cymbal in 50 years except for a Paiste 20 Signature ride...no easy feat (I still think my bass player did it, the troglodyte).

Great Sounding Splash
Sweetwater did it again with their excellent service (fast, free shipping and the lowest price on this item anywhere--short of buying a heavily-used one). Shout out to Ben Elder...

I love how sharp this cymbal sounds, and I have already started incorporating it into my playing and adding color with it. The trick will be to keep from overusing it.

I am a tad concerned about how thin it is, but I have 2002s all around and knew what I was getting into. The sound is most important, and playing with good technique goes a long way. That said, I play drums, don't have a light touch, and I don't expect all of my gear to last forever.

I am happy with this purchase, and I can't wait to get behind my drums again and play.

thin
bent first time i used it. very sad.
