Perfect for Top-level Flamenco Players
The Alhambra 10FP Pinana — the flamenco version of the Alhambra Classical 10P — is the ideal choice for high-level flamenco players, thanks to its high-quality, all-solid tonewoods, excellent playability, and detail-oriented craftsmanship. Alhambra builds the 10FP Pinana with a cedar top over rosewood back and sides. Together with the cedar neck and Spanish heel, the tonewoods resonate as one, producing a powerful, hall-filling sound. Here at Sweetwater, we’re particularly fond of the understated elegance of this guitar. It has an unadorned ebony fingerboard, a clear scratch guard, and a rosette that is at once austere and attention-grabbing. The Alhambra 10FP Pinana’s tone, high-grade materials, and visual appeal make it the perfect companion for flamenco players.

A timeless tonewood combination
An unmistakable playing style like flamenco requires a time-honored tonewood combination. And for the 10FP Pinana, there’s no better combination than cedar and rosewood. The top is made from high-grade cedar, while the back and sides feature eye-catching Indian rosewood. So how does it sound? Sit down with the 10FP Pinana, and you’ll enjoy a robust bass response with dignified mids and a silky-smooth treble. Whether the piece calls for precise melodies or rapid-fire rumbas — or anywhere in between — the 10FP Pinana does it all with power and poise.
Built in the Spanish tradition
Every guitar leaving that Alhambra workshop is crafted in the Spanish tradition. Following in the footsteps of legendary luthier Antonio Torres, the 10FP’s design centers around a cedar neck with a traditional Spanish heel. In short, a Spanish heel is one continuous piece of wood from headstock to neck block and glued directly to the top, back, and sides. This construction method ensures that all the neck’s vibrations are transferred directly to the body, increasing sustain and resonance. Plus, it massively improves the instrument’s overall stability. Best of all, this particular neck features ebony reinforcements to prevent warping and keep the neck arrow straight for many years to come.
Thoughtful touches from master luthiers
Alhambra is no stranger to the tonal, tactile, and visual qualities that professional flamenco players look for in an instrument. And upon close inspection, the 10FP Pinana bears many thoughtful features just for the player. First, you get a bone nut and saddle, which maximize your tone with extremely efficient vibration transfer. The nut is slightly wider than usual, too, coming in at 2-1/25 inches (52 millimeters). This gives you that little bit of extra room for furious fingerwork. Finally, the 10FP Pinana has an unadorned ebony fingerboard and a gorgeous mosaic rosette. From the hands of accomplished Spanish luthiers to yours, the 10FP Pinana is primed for technical playing in the practice room and concert hall.
