The Neve 1066 was a variant of the legendary 1073 80 Series console module with the same mic preamp stage, but with different EQ frequency selections. The '66 was coveted by guitarists for its choice of midrange frequency centers, but like the 1073 it offered only a fixed 10k HF shelf, which left something to be desired for general usage. BAE remedies that situation with their 1066DL 500 Series module. The triple-wide 'DL offers the same low and mid frequencies as the classic 1066, but its lowpass filter offers a slightly different set of frequencies, and it addresses modern recording requirements with selectable 10kHz, 12kHz, 16kHz, 20kHz, and 24kHz HF shelving.
