Upgraded MIM Fender

Dropped these into a Mexican made Fender. Updated the bridge as well. I've compared it side by side with American mades. It holds up and is almost impossible to tell apart. If you have an old bass that you want sounding magic, throw these in it!

The Bottom End I Was Searching For

In searching for "my sound" when it comes to playing bass, I took a few factors into consideration when asking myself the question "Who can provide me a means (the right pickups) to my end (the right sound)?" As a Fender fanatic, I naturally considered their offerings as well as those of Lace Music and Seymour Duncan. I was in search of a heavy-bottom, high-output, slap-friendly set of pickups that could provide those characteristics with a vintage vibe. I have a set of Lace Music Man 'O' War Jazz Bass Sensors in a bass I already own; I wasn't looking to reproduce that sound. Seymour Duncan's offerings are nice, but didn't quite hit on the right acoustic and aesthetic notes for me. So, back to Fender we go. Why the Custom Shop 60's Jazz Bass Set? They provide satisfactory levels of output. They follow vintage designs with extra coil windings. They've produce that rumble I was looking for. They sound pretty incredible. Blues, rock, rhythm, funk...these pickups handle any playing style I throw at them and probably anything anybody with a vintage vibe will throw at them. Highly recommended!

Holy hot rods Batman

Gather round folks and listen up these things are amazing, period full stop. Wow just wow. Aaron suggested these as an upgrade along with the Emerson prewired kit for my Squire VM Jazz nick named Blondie. Ordered them up and once I decided I didn"t want to take a chance at screwing up the install I took them over to the local vintage shop and left it in Dugal"s capable hands. Couple hours later I pick it up and he warned "it might be a little louder". Yeah Dugal, kind of an understatement there on your part. Kind of like Sundance Kid asking "Think you used enough dynamite there Butch?"

Hugely more responsive than what I thought were good sounding stock pick ups. Much better tonal range from top to bottom, in both neck and bridge pickups. Cant find a muddy sound across the range and had to change amp settings to bring back the "thumpiness" I like for blues.

I will in all likelihood never be a better player than this bass with this combo/setup installed can do and really really doubt I would be able to tell the difference between this and a 2K plus buck instrument.

Buy this pair now and dont look back or worry about the cost.

Awesome Replacement Pickups

These pickups gave new life to my MIM Fender Jazz Bass. I also paired the pickups with the Emerson Prewire kit. I love the tone I'm now getting. Was a pretty easy upgrade as well, I checked out a few YouTube videos got some solder and made the swap myself. This is a great way to get a custom shop high quality sound/tone for cheap. Highly Recommend!

Great Pickup

I swapped out the pickups in my 09 Fender MIA with the Custom Shop 60's and used the Emerson Prewire Kit to replace the electronics and man what a difference. It's like my bass came to life and had this great versatile tone. I can't recommend this combination upgrade enough. These pickup are good for any genre of music. The Custom Shop 60's are a little more expensive then some but there is a reason for that...
Its worth it!
I highly recommend the Custom Shop 60's with the Emerson Prewire Kit if your looking for tone versatility and to cut through the mix at rehearsal and live performances.
