A Fun, Educational Start to the Piano
Take it from our instructors at the Sweetwater Academy of Music & Technology, Alfred's Basic Piano Library makes learning piano easy and fun for young students. Lesson Book Level 1A will teach students correct playing habits, note reading, interval recognition, basic keyboard topography, simple rhythms, and more. It will also prepare students to read intervals by using fun and engaging songs. Level 1A introduces students to treble and bass clefs, flat and sharp signs, and melodic and harmonic intervals, including seconds, thirds, fourths, and fifths. For best results, this course is best experienced under the direction of a piano teacher.
Note: The Universal Edition is designed for all English-speaking countries outside of the United States and uses British terminology for rhythmic values.
