Seize Your Sound: Small Footprint, Limitless Potential
Syntax is an extension of Wampler founder Brian Wampler’s mission to utilize modern technologies that allow us to maximize the multidirectional creative possibilities of the contemporary guitar-playing landscape. Despite what you might assume from its small-footprint form factor, this micro pedal packs a punch that hits infinitely above its weight, thanks to its dynamic array of multifunction MIDI, tap, and latching controls. Sweetwater’s guitarists are equally impressed and thankful, given the near-endless array of pedal-derived dilemmas Syntax solves. Each side of its dual-lane architecture is independently adjustable for the function it serves, with a 3-way slider letting you choose from its three methods of control. What’s more, the 3.5-millimeter TRS MIDI in, MIDI out, and External out make Syntax a deceptively diverse switcher, augmenting everything from studio setups to stage-blazing pedalboards to multitudes of MIDI environments. What you control is, quite literally, up to you, and Syntax is your tool to speak your sound the way you’ve always meant it to be heard.
Streamline your setup via multifunctional MIDI control
Across the likes of countless effects pedals, such as Wampler’s Catacombs, Metaverse, and Terraform pedals, multifunctional possibilities abound. Still, the push and pull of a streamlined interface, accessibility, pedalboard real estate, and overarching accessibility often require the more experimental or ambitious elements to be relegated to additional forms of control. Combine this with the increasingly expanding boundary-blurring of MIDI, analog, studio, and stage environments, and what might start as a simple tap tempo controller for one pedal can suddenly become a (signal) chain of diminishing returns for accommodating ways to control these myriad parameters and possibilities of your pedals. Syntax solves this by giving you two footswitches of individually customizable behavior. With extensive MIDI PC controls (channels one through eight), navigating presets and performance configurations becomes a plug-and-play breeze. In fact, if you were using Catacombs, Metaverse, and Terraform on your board, you can daisy-chain the pedals via Syntax’s synchronized MIDI capabilities — one micro-stompbox to scroll them all, sans menus.

Latch and tap: step up your sound
Another aspect of Brain Wampler’s pedal-powered mission that’s routinely plagued him and the team is the industry’s reliance on singular functionality. In other words, “Why not just build pedals that can do more than one type of thing?” One of the most common iterations of this dilemma is the distinct but equally significant need for latching and tap switches. So, Syntax does both! With each side, you can independently set the switch to Tap or Latch modes. Need a tap tempo for one pedal? You’re set. Need to cycle amp channels or effects? Latch on and go! Anywhere that tap and latch switches can be used, Syntax is there to offer not just a vast array of interoperative possibilities, but its sleek profile means you’re getting these multitudes of multifunction capabilities without compromising precious pedalboard real estate.
