Legendary Mellotron Sounds, Even More Opportunity
The GForce M-Tron Pro is a spot-on emulation of the legendary Mellotron M400, the tape-based keyboard heard on recordings by such artists as the Beatles, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin, and Radiohead. M-Tron Pro offers a huge 3.5GB sound library with over 200 meticulously sampled tape banks, and it includes 19 of the first M-Tron tape banks, all remastered at the acclaimed Abbey Road Studios. With the latest iteration, sound designers at GForce worked tirelessly to expand the already-impressive suite of possibilities afforded by its predecessors. Studio producers at Sweetwater are enamored with the new features, from inspiring workflow tools and more presets to expanded FX and performance controls to ensure you’re getting the uncompromised Mellotron sound with the unfettered possibilities of modern composition.

What’s new in M-Tron Pro IV?
As if Version 3 weren’t impressive enough, GForce sought to extend the capabilities of their vaunted sample library by introducing new performance and sound design tools that take the iconic Mellotron sonics to new heights, all without alienating the core sound they’ve worked so tirelessly to capture. Welcome improvements include more than 100 new presets designed in conjunction with world-class artists, bringing the grand total to over 800. A revamped UI lets you freely scale the instrument while advanced undo, redo, copy, and paste features — combined with new preset and tape-bank browsers — make patch-crafting easier than ever. You’ve also got Wow and Flutter controls to attenuate tape instability, while amp simulations, a state-variable filter, ensemble effect, and LFO shaping options take your sound design opportunities even further. Additionally, augmented polyphonic aftertouch and velocity controls elevate the M-Tron Pro’s power and versatility both in the studio and on the stage, increasing expressivity that bolsters the possibilities of the new Matrix Reverb effect and individual FX locks.
Historic sounds for your studio
From the flutes on the legendary introduction to the Beatles' "Strawberry Fields Forever" to tracks from the Moody Blues, David Bowie, and the Rolling Stones to the modern sounds of the Flaming Lips, Nine Inch Nails, Modest Mouse, Muse, U2, Sigur Ros, and more, there's no question that the sound of the Mellotron is a deep part of music history. Now, you can experience that tape-based playback sonic experience for yourself — and with 100% digital convenience — with GForce's M-Tron Pro.
Of its massive 200+ tape-bank library, M-Tron Pro gives you brand-new tape banks not found on GForce's original Mellotron. What's more, 19 tapes from the M-Tron have been remastered at London's legendary Abbey Road Studios for the ultimate in sound quality. In total, there are over 3.5GB of world-class samples.
In addition, the M-Tron Pro IV now boasts more than 800 total patches, many custom-designed by world-class recording artists and programmers, so you have instant access to a diverse sonic palette. Plus, amp simulations, a Matrix Reverb effect, and the Wow and Flutter instability controls introduce a wealth of sound design and tone-crafting opportunities.
G-Force M-Tron Pro offers up to 42 notes, thanks to the extended keyboard mode to add seven semitones to the low end, all of which are individually sampled. It also supports dual-layer and split-keyboard operation in addition to MIDI Learn. This functionality adds up to a wealth of control over its 29 parameters per layer, including ensemble and delay effects; lowpass, bandpass, and highpass filters; and tape-based effects, such as reverse and half speed. What's more, M-Tron Pro can operate standalone, so it's easy to quickly load it up on your laptop and perform with a MIDI controller onstage, with deep polyphonic aftertouch and velocity controls to drastically increase expressive opportunity. M-Tron Pro IV also introduces a versatile LFO parameter, allowing you to not only customize your shape, but choose between pitch, filter, pan, and level destinations to fine-tune your tones.
