Three powerful operation modes
Sleek, intuitive, and efficient, the MIDI Eight is truly the complete package, but it's the three onboard standalone modes that veritably elevate it to the status of must-have studio and live-performance hardware. In Pass mode, all MIDI inputs are routed directly to their corresponding outputs, making it ideal for controlling specific instruments via a dedicated MIDI controller. Thru Mode sends all MIDI input signals to each output port simultaneously, an effective option for utilizing a single controller or sequencer with multiple instruments or drum machines. Merge mode is the opposite, merging every input port to send data to MIDI Out 1 — best utilized when using multiple controllers or when you need to send data to a single sound generator or DAW. Perhaps best of all, each of these three modes is fully operational without the need for a computer.
