Bridges the Gap Between Rounds and Flats

GHS Pressurewound bass strings effectively split the difference between traditional flatwound and roundwound strings, giving you loads of articulation without excess drag or string noise. Here's how it works: GHS subjects its nickel-iron Alloy 52 Pressurewound wrap to a high-pressure rolling winding process to slightly flatten the final product. This gives each set of strings a brightness you won't find in traditional flats, as well as a smoothness and squeak reduction you don't find in fresh rounds. GHS Pressurewound bass strings feature a hexagonal core to further maximize brightness and attack, all while giving you a silky-smooth response under the fingers. It's truly the best of both worlds. If you're looking for a set of bass strings that bridges the gap between traditional rounds and flats, bassists at Sweetwater highly recommend GHS Pressurewound rollerwound bass strings.

GHS Pressurewound Rollerwound Bass Guitar Strings (5-string Set) Features:

Great tone, easy playability

Strung up my Nordy vP4 with these strings for BEAD tuning. Between the Alloy 52 these strings are made with and the Alnico V my pickups are made out of, I get a strong consistent tone that would be great for any kind of genre of music. Great customer service as always from Sweetwater. They were in contact the whole time throughout the ordering process and my strings arrived 2 days after ordering.

Great balance between flats and rounds

I generally don't love the sound of new rounds, and flats don't always fit every genre of music I play. I've found these to be a nice middle ground. They definitely lean more round than flat, but they have a broken in quality that I really like. They're a little smoother to the touch, but definitely not as smooth as a flat. All in all, these are probably going to be my new go-to string. They fit in great with a wide variety of music.

Excellent

By far my favorite all around string.

GHS M7200-5 pressurewound bass strings

I've always used flats on all my basses since I started playing because I didn't like the fret noise from round wounds, but I did like the puncheness. These pressurewounds have very little fret noise and sound great. I have all four string basses and this is a five string set ,so the B string you can use it for a fishing stringer or probably other uses. You'll love these strings!

Perfect for me

Flats were too smooth and rounds were too twangy for me. These pressurewounds sit in just the right place tonally.
I have them on a Musicman Stingray 5HH and can get some bite when I need it but can still get a round tone that is manageable.

Finger noise is not as pronounced as with rounds.

I cover a wide range of musical styles and these strings give me the tone range I need.
