Great Strings, I didn't know they still made them.

Excellent strings, back when I was gigging 5-7 days a week you could get a couple weeks out of a set.
Went to NAMM a couple of years ago and talked to the boys at the Rotosound booth, who knew exactly where the frozen Margaritas were sold. I said "What's up with the Black Rotosound Strings?" I couldn't find them anywhere, (this was 20 years ago I believe) and they said that they stopped making them, and one of the chaps said "I told you people loved those strings" A friend of mine is over in London and sent me a pic. Googled them up and here they are at Sweetwater. Placing order now.

Great bass string...

I got these to go on my all black bass guitar, it even has black hardware, now it even has black strings! First impression is very good, very nice bright, ringing tone, has that piano like punch....without being harsh. The black coating looks very cool, and seems robust. Although a brighter sounding string, it has a dark richness to it. The "E" string is not dull, as is my fear for most bass string brands, instincts indicate that these will be a long lasting string. Even though, they are smaller gauge, the tension seems somewhat on the stiff side, or tight....but not to the extreme. Only minor gripe would be the rainbow color, cloth thread wraps on the end, I would prefer the whole string to be black. Just want to add that my Sweetwater rep is Jimmy Hart, and is the only one here that I will deal with. Also, thanks for the candy thrown in the package!

great strings

I've been an elixir polyweb user since i started playing guitar, but these absolutely have taken over as my go to bass strings. Not only are they quality strings, they also look extremely sexy since they are like jet black. They play really smooth and the sound is not compromised with the coating.

Nexus black polymer coated bass strings

While I was looking for a small gauge coated set of strings, I gave the Nexus strings a try.
These strings have a nice feel with no buss. A rich deep tone and good finger action. I got the middle gage strings, next time I think I will get the smaller gage.
I give these strings an A- rating.
