Some of the settings have changed between ATTO ExpressPro-Tools 2.7 and 2.8.1. How should I configure my SCSI Transfer Rates for my busses and drives?
There are a couple of settings that you should check:The Fallback Sync Rate (accessed in the Bus Information window)and the Sync Rate (accessed in the Device Information window) The Fallback Sync Rate should be set to 20 (10). This is what the LVD cards will default to if a single-ended device or terminator is used on the bus. The normal default is 40 (20), but this will cause cable length problems resulting in bus hangs — hence the lower, more tolerant setting we recommend. The 2.8.1 version drops many of the parentheticals, so for folks using the UL3D with EPT 2.8.1, the proper Sync Rate for HD should be “DT 160”, compared to EPT 2.7, which will say “DT 160 (80)”. They are the same.Basically, ATTO cleaned up the transfer rate menus in EPT 2.8.1 by removing extraneous entries, which is a good thing. Other than that, everything should be pretty much the same as in v2.7.
