Tiberius Huiu

I've been a drummer for most of my life, and music has been the driving force behind nearly everything I do. My earliest inspiration came from the alternative explosion of the '90s—bands like Nirvana were what first made me want to pick up the sticks. As a teenager and young adult, I played in punk, hardcore, post-hardcore, and metal bands throughout the New York City music scene, where I developed a love for high-energy performance and the tight-knit communities built around live music.

Over the past decade, I've immersed myself in studying jazz, challenging myself to grow as both a musician and a listener. That journey broadened my musical perspective and reinforced the idea that every genre has something valuable to teach. Today, I enjoy playing everything from jazz and reggae to ska, punk, hardcore, metal, funk, rock, and just about anything else that inspires me.

In addition to drums, I play keys, guitar and bass, and I love writing, arranging, and recording my own music in my home studio. Being able to approach music from multiple perspectives—as a drummer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and recording engineer—has given me a deep appreciation for the creative process from start to finish.

My passion for music, musical instruments, and recording technology has been the constant thread throughout my life, and it's the reason I was so excited to join the Sweetwater family. There's nothing more rewarding than helping fellow musicians find the right gear so they can create, perform, and enjoy music as much as I have.
