Hi, I'm Stuart! I was relocated from Brisbane Australia in 2008 by Sweetwater to be your Sales Engineer! I have been playing guitar since 1984 ( Yes, I saw the Hot for Teacher music clip by Van Halen and discovered my calling : ) After 12 years playing clubs with several bands, I graduated from the Conservatorium of Music on The Gold Coast of Australia with a Bachelor's degree in Musicology / Technology and spent the next 10 years freelancing and staff engineering many studios in Brisbane and Sydney. I ran my own mix room as well, based around a large Pro Tools HD system utilizing a great collection of hybrid digital and analog equipment.
My background and experience on stage and in the studio gives me a broad base of knowledge and really allows me to help my clients every single day in choosing equipment for their studio, guitar rig, or musical endeavor!
Here at Sweetwater I still spend a considerable amount of time training with product managers, product specialists, and getting my hands on the latest technology so that I can offer "front line" advice and opinions to my clients.

I believe that Stuart Niven is one of the most helpful sales engineer in any industry. He takes the right amount of time no matter if the purchase is $6 or $6000. He never fails to inform even if the product in question is not one that Sweetwater carries any longer. The prices at Sweetwater are competitive, but even if they weren't, Stuart would get my business because of the super service he gives. He brings additional VALUE to the buying experience. Stuart Niven is golden.
