As a youth, Tom Danley found himself attracted to sound as both a musician and later, as an electronics technician. His natural curiosity and inventive nature led him to work for a great many companies on a wide range of projects. No matter what he was working on, Tom continued to invent new devices, piling up nearly 20 patents along the way. His patented technology would be included in research involving high-powered acoustic levitators, ground zero bombing simulations, active noise cancellation, critical listening studios, live sound, commercial and home theaters, and houses of worship. Danley Sound Labs earned its initial customers in the house of worship space, and Tom’s abilities and innovations have led the company to fame in numerous professional audio settings. They offer loudspeakers, subwoofers, and a bevy of other components.
A masterclass in audio engineering, the Tom Danley TDH-3 passive 3-way studio monitor delivers an all-encompassing sound that defies its sleek footprint. This passive speaker comes loaded with an 8-inch woofer for clear, punchy low end. The woofer is paired with a coaxial 5-inch mid-frequency/1-inch high-frequency driver for astonishing mids and ultra-detailed highs. The monitor offers both single-channel and bi-amplified operation, each with outrageous sensitivity and generous power handling. Finally, the TDH-3 is housed in a maple enclosure for a refined and sophisticated look.
