Soulful perfection

Voices of Soul gives you a library of expressive, soulful, multi-sampled vocal instruments with highly realistic true-legato transitions and hundreds of expressive phrases in every key. Composers can use Combo instruments to switch between multiple articulations on the fly and Mod Xfade Chords instruments to create vocal harmonies simply by playing chords. Sweetwater's advice? If you want to enhance your music with solo vocals or vocal harmonies, Voices of Soul is the powerhouse vocal instrument software you've been waiting for.

Voices of Soul categories include:

  • Sustain contains a variety of single-syllable vocal instrument types
  • Legato contains instruments that play back true legato intervals when playing notes legato
  • Combo Mod contains instruments that combine multiple articulations and use the Mod Wheel (MOD) or Velocity Sensitivity (VS) to determine which play back
  • Combo RR contains instruments that combine multiple articulations by using Round Robin programming to cycle through articulations
  • Mod Xfade Chords contains polyphonic, single-syllable vocal instruments that use the Mod Wheel (CC1) to crossfade between dynamic layers
  • Phrases contains over 600 phrases and ad-libs sung in a soulful style, spread out across 12 instruments, one for each of the 12 root note positions
  • Keyswitch contains instruments that combine multiple articulations into a single instrument and use keyswitches to activate the desired articulation

Crazy Amazing

First, I saw this on sale on Sweetwater and took a chance on it. I am using Logic X to record one of my songs that had a home choir on it consisting of my wife and I layering our tracks. But the song needed more, it needed a different feel. This Voices of Soul did the trick. I simply played some chords which converted the single voices into this big gospel type choir using layered "oh" and "la" and different velocities for a human choir experience. I placed these soulful choir tracks within my chorus in an answer and call fashion to my original choir of me and the wife, and AMAZING! This software took my work to such a higher level. Now, learning the software and how to apply it is a little tricky at points, but this is pro-level quality.

Expanded My Vocal Capabilities

I recently purchased EastWest Hollywood Backup Singers and found it to be a quality tool in my vocal productions. EastWest Hollywood Backup Singers helps me provide my client's a more polished track. Once I acknowledged the benefits to my workflow I felt EastWest Voices of Soul Vocal was a must have addition for my workflow.

High quality sound.

I really respect the recordings that were made to create these high quality vocals. Nice assortment of different styles. The East West Play program takes a little getting use to but found no bugs or glitches. I will probably upgrade to Hollywood Vocals someday.

Music background: Lifelong guitarist and home recording hobbiest

Realistic and warm vocals

This was a purchase in search of a different type of vocal plugin, one that wasn't so much "choir-like". Not only is this an authentically different vocal plugin, it lives up to it's name with a clear path of being a soul sampled plugin. It has a nice choice of vowel, Ahh Eh I Ooh Uh, samples, along with some runs and ability for harmony sections. Soundsonline (EastWest family name) has built the vst with a nice selection of effects, some of it powered by actual SSL plugins, as it nearly eliminates the need for any additional work on the track. Note that the effects section is only usable within the plugins console, not externally as individual effects. I absolutely recommend this plugin as an additional vocal vst. Sonically it is one of the best quality plugins I have found for the price range also.
