Water. Metal. Stone. Glass.
Vienna Symphonic Library’s Vienna Instruments: Synchron-ized Elements Standard Library fortifies your sound palette with the unique instruments of VSL’s VI Elements Collection. Long-time trade secrets of Hollywood composers and sound designers, these software instruments deliver ancient, elemental sounds that range from ethereal shimmers to thunderous strikes. For the SYNCHRON-ized version, VSL expanded the library’s sonic breadth and versatility, not only by adding more amazing instruments, but also by creating a bevy of other-worldly sound effects using Synchron Player’s extensive plug-in and routing options. New instruments include a second lithophone, another waterphone, several tam-tams, rails, thunder sheets, crotales, ocean drums, and much more.

Ethereal elements give your music that je ne sais quoi
Attention, composers! Vienna Instruments: SYNCHRON-ized Elements has you covered for both ethereal and shock value with four virtual instrument categories: water (Waterphones), metal (singing bowls, crotales, steel rails, tam-tams), stone (lithophones), and glass (glass harmonica, verrophone, bottles). Loaded with a variety of included mixer presets, each instrument can be placed in nine different positions in the main hall of Synchron Stage Vienna for a perfect sound, right out-of-the-box. The library is topped off by a selection of exotic percussion instruments that includes ocean drums, spring drums, cuícas, and waldteufel, as well as a lion roar and bull roarer.
Huge palette of classic and FX presets
In addition to the classic presets, SYNCHRON-ized Elements supplies a wide variety of FX Presets created by VSL’s expert sound designer and engineers. Notable is the Combined FX category, with a total of 24 newly designed instruments made by combining different Elements. It’s a treasure-trove of fresh and organic sounds and effects for adventurous composers and sound designers.
Included Synchron Player
VSL SYNCHRON-ized Elements includes VSL’s dedicated Synchron Player. Driven by a powerful new audio engine, the Synchron Player delivers flawless streaming performance and a new level of advanced simplicity. Just step through the articulations, select a variation, and audition how the pre-configured controllers affect the loaded preset. For authentic in situ instrument soundstaging, the Synchron Player incorporates an internal mixer with 5-band equalization, individual delay settings for runtime compensation, algorithmic reverb, polarity switching, and panorama controls, as well as a specially designed convolution reverb derived from Vienna MIR Pro that features the world-class ambience of Synchron Stage Vienna’s 5,813 square-foot main hall.
About Synchron Stage Vienna
Synchron Stage Vienna, located on Vienna’s historic Wiener Rosenhuegel, can accommodate a 130 piece orchestra and has proven its mettle over the decades not only for film score recording, but also for sampling sessions. With its massive concrete foundation, room-in-room construction, sound insulation, and specially designed HVAC system, the studio boasts an ultra-low noise floor of 16dBA, even with the air conditioning running. Stage A sports a reverb time of 1.8 seconds — and unlike many other scoring stages, there is no low-frequency masking effect. Instruments sound warm and punchy, with superior depth and panoramic localization.
First-call musicians, first-class samples
At Sweetwater, we hold the Vienna Symphonic Library in high regard; that’s because we’re picky about our orchestral samples. It all starts with the musicians. Since VSL’s inception, first-call musicians have been providing the sound and character of these instruments as soloists and ensemble leaders. This approach is largely responsible for the impressive sonic authority and authenticity we have come to expect from VSL virtual instruments.
