Incredible dual-stage sampling
Synchron Duality Strings Colors presents you with incredibly versatile VI orchestral palates, and the proof is in the name! Now, with two separate flautando and sul porticello ensembles at your disposal, there are twice as many opportunities for your musical creativity to reach new heights. Vienna Symphonic Library simultaneously recorded two individual string ensembles of Vienna’s most esteemed string players for Synchron Duality Strings Colors: a large ensemble on Stage A in the main hall and a small ensemble on Stage B. The dichotomous results of ethereal (flautando) and vivacious (sul ponticello) playing laid the foundation for unprecedented expression and sonority in VI orchestration.
Stage A’s result presented a larger, more grandiose symphonic effect, while the smaller and dryer Stage B is accompanied by a more transparent and intimate sound courtesy of dual microphone sets used for recording. Both ensembles, however, were captured in perfectly synchronized volume, timbre, note length, and so forth, allowing for a mesmerizingly characterful stereo response. Even at pianissimo, the opposing results are impressively distinguishable! With Synchron Duality Strings Colors, you can balance the two ensembles to your liking by way of completely organic mixing presets or work singularly with the ensemble that best suits the needs of your project.
Endless performance customization
This Colors library also includes the gorgeous Tutti Pianissimo Colors collection. The ensemble of 52 string players was recorded on Stage A, and it intended to complement the other two colors. It offers spiccatos, long notes, and tremolos in flautando, flautando con sordino, and ponticello all played at extremely quiet dynamic levels. Additionally, the new Colors fader lets you effortlessly navigate through various playing techniques to create hitherto unheard-of ambiences and soundscapes. The Tutti Pianissimo Colors patches are available in a wide spread across four octaves including basses, and across one octave without basses (but utilizing violins in unison with violas and cellos in unison one octave lower).
Miked to your liking
The detail of Synchron Duality Strings Colors goes well beyond ensemble variations — you’ve got full capability on exactly how your blended ensemble is miked up! The dark microphone setting comes captured by Royer SF24 and Sennheiser MKH 8040 mics, while the brighter setting is achieved through Neumann M149 and Ehrlund HER-M mics. The Full Library even affords you the warm and low-mid layers of Left/Right ribbon microphone capturing to help create incredibly lush and precise stringscapes. A convenient helping of surround microphone settings widens the orchestra, creating a denser effect. Finally, a Room Mix Presets selection enables easy and exceptional mixdowns into immersive audio formats such as stereo, 5.1 surround sound, and Dolby Atmos. Whatever impact you need your composition to exhibit, Synchron Duality Strings Colors can make it happen!
