I have to say that I am pretty much finished with Waves plugins. In my humble opinion, many of their plugins are snake oil at best. For the price and for the overall sounds, I feel that Universal Audio is a better choice for their true emulation of the hardware units. Sorry Waves, just being honest.

I was looking for a nice Compressor/Limiter and Wave"s V-Comp caught my attention. Turns out to be a great little plugin with a very well-designed layout. It"s dead simple layout let"s you get exactly what you need quickly and even adds a nifty pre-set de-esser that doesn"t suck all of the tone out of a vocal should you choose to use it.
The plugin sports a rather "older" looking panel that"s quite fitting as the V-Comp has a beautiful, warm "tube compressor" character and sound. I use it on nearly every track with great results. Works great on vocals, drums ...well, pretty much anything you need a compressor/limiter on. The vu meter is a welcome part of the design rather than the light up bars on too many plugins. This is a great choice if you"re looking to add a very analog type sound and vibe to your mixes.

This plug-in gave me just what I wanted as far as when I begin my beat. I start with a kick add the v-comp to the track just to get the feel of the kick and boom, just like that I realize if A, do i wanna jus that kick & B, if I do I can already hear how it will sound in a system YES a car system. Also house joint , headphones, ear buds, etc.. Now heres the thing depending on what you're trying to do you can use it for vocals, individual sounds, bussed sounds whatever trust me. And to top it off you'll never and I mean ever have to use it to the extreme settings. Pick It Up thanx Sweetwater
