Two Rare '80s Analog Synths in One Beastly Plug-in
UVI's UVX670 Dual '80s Analog Hybrid Synth plug-in deep-dives back to the 1980s to combine and layer sounds from two unique and under-appreciated 6-voice analog polysynths from Akai in Japan. For UVX670, UVI painstakingly sampled a vintage VX600 and AX73, both serviced and restored to factory spec. UVI sound designers fully explored the sonic possibilities of these synths and created a wide selection of sounds that represent a range of their strengths and eccentricities. Packed with 20,252 samples and 306 meticulously crafted presets, UVX670 delivers bass, keys, bells, brass, leads, organs, pads, plucks, polysynths, strings, voices, and effects. Sweetwater's take: With UVX670, you'll find a broad palette of both themed and quintessential sounds ideal for cross-genre production, as well as many inspiring and creative sounds for forging your own sonic path.

Under the hood of two under-appreciated classics
The VX600 and the AX73 were both 6-voice analog polysynths; the former a pad maven with two VCOs per-voice; the latter excelling at leads and basses with a 6-VCO architecture usable in either poly, stacked, or unison modes through Curtis 4-pole 24/dB resonant lowpass filters. Both synths had versatile modulation systems capable of a wide range of sounds. The VX600 boasted two LFOs per voice, a complex mod matrix, and allowed frequency modulation. The AX73, with one LFO per voice, featured variable pulse width and PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) available for any of the waveforms. Neither the VX600 nor the AX73 have achieved the status of vintage classics, and that's a shame, considering their robust capabilities and rich sonic potential. With both of them together in your arsenal, their individual strengths combine to deliver truly powerful sounds. And that's what you get with the UVI UVX670.
Meticulous, state-of-the-art per-key sampling
For every UVX670 patch, UVI sampled per-key; and on the AX73 they doubled up, including both wet and dry versions with a built-in chorus effect. Recording was done using the finest microphones and Prism converters, after which all samples were carefully edited and thoroughly tested to ensure the utmost quality and reliable performance.
An inspiring instrument with a rich sonic palette
Combining the sonic power of two vintage analog synthesizers, UVX670 can deliver some truly amazing sounds. Each synth has its own voice selection, volume, pan, filters, amp and filter envelopes, pitch, portamento, stereo modes, modulation targets, and arpeggiators; allowing you to conjure everything from fat, layered unisons to complex, modulating soundscapes. And the fact that UVX670 is sample-based means you get the authentic sound of the original hardware without having the worry of running out of voices. For the finishing touch, the two synth signals are summed through a high-quality FX chain with 3-band EQ, Drive, Chorus, multi-mode Ensemble, Phaser, Delay, and Sparkverb to polish or completely transform your sounds without the need for external plug-ins.
