Ten-voice Analog Synth Legend, Brought to Life in Software
Introduced in 1978, the first fully programmable polyphonic synthesizer took the world by storm. It was the first fully programmable polyphonic (5-voice) synth and the first musical instrument with an onboard microprocessor that enabled musicians to store and recall patches in a memory bank. It would go on to become one of the most iconic analog synthesizers ever made. There were three revisions during its six-year production run, but the most striking (and exceedingly rare) variant was released in 1981. This was, essentially, two of the 5-voice versions stacked into one dual-keyboard chassis for a total of ten voices; with 2 oscillators, a white noise source, and a resonant lowpass filter per-voice. It was, needless to say, a beast. Now the UVI PX P10 brings the beast back to life, offering all the advantages of a software plug-in.

Vintage, modern, cinematic, and more
Given the gravity of this groundbreaking series and the particular significance of version 10, UVI spared pulled out all the stops in the creation of PX P10. They sourced and meticulously refurbished an original instrument back to mint condition, then set about the task of sound design. They lovingly curated a massive selection of sounds that capture the vibe of ’80s classics, modern genres, cinematic soundtracks, and much more. Exhaustively multi-sampled, these patches include the raw waveforms both with and without unison, allowing you to implement authentic hardware 4-VCO stacking on any sound in the library — and unlike the original hardware, these patches can all be played polyphonically, limited only by your CPU.
Hundreds of custom-designed sounds
As with the original, you can load two programs at once, and with the unison mode engaged you can create truly massive analog sounds without the limitations of a 5- or 10-voice ceiling. Explore the presets or create your own by mixing and matching layers, adjusting amp, filter, panning, effect parameters, and engaging per-layer arpeggiators and modulators. For PX P10, UVI recorded over 30,000 samples, packing PX P10 with a staggering 309 presets made up of 188 layers, and divided into 15 categories that include bass, leads, strings, polysynths, and more. Each of the sounds is fully customizable and can be used right out of the box or as the starting point for your own sonic explorations. Synthesists at Sweetwater who like to build their own sounds from scratch appreciate the ready availability of the raw waveforms. We think UVI did a masterful job of capturing the iconic sounds of this legendary instrument. Our bet is: you will, too.
