UVI Digital Synsations Virtual Instrument Collection Reviews
Even if you're a classic synth collector, you'd be hard pressed to get your hands on the four keyboards modeled in the UVI Digital Synsations collection, let alone experience the sound-crafting power of this highly capable virtual instrument. Covering all of the bases of the late '80s and early '90s digital synthesis, Digital Synsations comes loaded with spot-on models of the Yamaha SY77, Korg M1, Ensoniq VFX, and Roland D-50, including all of their essential controls and unique characteristics. Another thing the synth nuts at Sweetwater dig about Digital Synsations are the presets, which really showcase these amazing instruments can do.

Presets Only
The presets are faithful to what they are trying to emulate. However, that's all you get... PRESETS.
There's no editing the separate voices which make up the sounds. The era of synthesis UVI accurately emulates was about combining MULTIPLE samples and oscillators—in a linear or parallel manner—to create new sounds. I can't believe this software doesn't let you access the individual particles that make up the whole sound. They treat it like it's a single, flattened sample to add stupid effects to. Many of the patches I WOULD use, I can't because there may be an obnoxious chirping sound as one of the combined voices that I can't disable manually.
Oh well; If I want PRESETS I've got 'em... Some ain't bad though.
