This is the sound I was looking for. It's like playing through a Fender tube amp and my other pedals come alive too. I have been using the Walrus ACS1 and Strymon Iridium and the Dream65 sounds way better. It takes pedals better too.

A couple of things to know:

1) It comes with 3 speaker cabs. When you reqister on-line you get another 3. You must register on a PC (laptop) not on your phone because... you have to plug the Dream65 in via a USB-C cable (like the new iPhone cables). You will download the latest firmware and get the 3 extra speaker cabs.Kind of a pain but not too bad.

2) Dream65 does NOT have a headphone jack so you need to get creative. Buy a mini cable like this... Hosa YMP-434 Stereo Breakout Cable - 3.5mm TRS Female to Left and Right 1/4-inch TS Male.

Note: the output for the headphone will be weak because there's no headphone amp. Just turn the master output all the way up when using headphones and back to 50% (12:00) when going direct to house or playing live.

This is an extremely well built, well engineered piece of gear. Kudos especially for the reverb and tremolo sounds.

I haven't yet delved into all the features of this pedal. Registered it and got 3 more speakers, and adjusted a few knobs...wow. Connected it with my normal pedal board, just like I would a regular amp, plugged the output into a DI box and sent to the board...Overwhelmed with how this sounds. I have tried a bunch of amp modelers and ended up spending the vast majority of my time trying to find a sound I liked...This one was just some minor tweaks of the knobs and selecting a speaker that I really dug. It doesn't get much easier than that.
Solidly built, and highly recommended. I may just sell all of my amps and get a Woodrow, a Ruby and maybe a Lion to cover nearly every sound I could ever want.

Tired of lugging your amp to the gig but this! I will say I do have the iridium which is excellent but this has that sweet reverb and tremolo. Easy to use

Wanted a board with simplicity. This is the perfect amp pedal with amazing spring reverb.

For the third time, and this time a very important gig, I had to tear apart my pedalboard at soundcheck to find why I wasn't getting a signal through. The pedal was trying to pair via Bluetooth to something nearby and the pairing wouldn't turn off.

Overall good product. It would be better if it had a headphone jack.

I run tube amps live. BUT . . . This is my backup amp now. I don't carry an extra amp any longer. I have this and a DI Box as my fall back in the event i have problems.

I have used this for a silent stage once as well.

I gig with a '70s Vibrolux Reverb as my main amp, and I absolutely love it. But as I started landing bigger shows, my priorities shifted—from chasing "cooler" gear to making sure I had reliable backup solutions. After all, what happens if my amp dies mid‑gig?

That's where the Dream 65 comes in, and honestly, I couldn't be happier with it. Mounted at the end of my pedalboard, it's a true plug‑and‑play replacement for my amp. The tone and feel are close enough that I can decide whether to bring the Vibrolux or leave it at home, simply switching the pedal on or off as needed.
With a DI, I can run straight to the PA or into any powered speaker without sacrificing my sound. For rehearsals, I don't even bother hauling the amp—I just plug into a small speaker and I'm good to go. Best of all, my pedals respond exactly the same way, so my whole setup feels consistent no matter what.

Of course, nothing beats the magic of my Vibrolux, but thanks to the Dream 65, I feel completely confident stepping onstage without it

This isn't a stomp box, it's a computer in a box. Seriously, it takes a couple seconds to boot and even when it's not on, if it's plugged in it's warm to the touch. It sounds better than good, and in a mix (especially with other pedals) no one could say it wasn't a real amp. If you need and want tube amp sound without being loud, this is it. Direct into my DAW = awesome, but gain stacking in front of it is so fun. Put a compressor in front of it and you've warped back in time…. Don't throw away your tremolo pedal though, it's slightly annoying to throw the switch to adjust speed and depth then forget you did, and your trying to get boost but it's changing intensity on the tremolo! The UA pedals are amazing and I will probably get another one.

After playing on my iridium and switching to this amp the first chord I knew this was special. I much prefer this UA to the iridium I had been running. Easy to get running.

Use at the end of my chain. It's plugged into my Bose T4. L 1 model 2. I have other Amps but haven't used them since I purchased the dream . Strat Pro 2 and Tele pro 2 are my main guitars. I have it on a mic stand mount which is pretty handy. I do a single and create backing tracks minus guitar. Country , Rock a Billy and blues. I'm no pro but I'd recommend this dream simulator. Easy to use. I don't mess with the website.

The Universal Audio Dream '65 sounds and feels nearly identical to my '65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue amp when run through a Walrus Audio Canvas Line Isolator into my audio interface, and played through my studio monitors. It also takes pedals just like my real amp. This is a great solution when lower volume recording is needed. The fact that you can save presets also makes it a no brainer at this price.

Don't do a firmware update. It will brick the device. This is a scam designed to extort money. Just buy the Strymom Iridium.

I'm surprised by how much I love the saturated lead tones I can get from this pedal. The clean tones are great, too, but I find myself using it more than anything for overdriven lead tones when playing live. Admittedly, I've never had the chance to crank an actual vintage Deluxe Reverb '65 to compare apples to apples, but if this pedal is a reasonable facsimile, I can see now why people are captivated by that tone.

To start, I am impressed by how good this pedal sounded when first purchased. When played through a PA, and listening through stage monitors, sounds as good and maybe better with additional flexibility than my black-face amp with a mic. I was using for a clean tone and it fit my needs perfectly. However, 3rd gig, less than 10 hours of play time, the pedal won't boot. Just flashes the LED's like it's loading. Also periodically would send a popping signal through the PA while trying to boot. Tried to reset to factory settings, no success. Completely useless, was stuck with only my acoustic setup for a gig. I know that even a tube amp can fail, but for years I have never had an issue like this. Maybe an amp becomes a bit finicky, but can typically trouble shoot. So the solution is to have a back up amp, which defeats the purpose of the pedal simplifying the rig. Maybe useful in a studio or home setting, but unreliable as a live performance tool.

As I was finally able to put the Dream 65 pedal through its paces I found that it performed as expected. I played it through a Bose PA setup with my pedal board and the sound is 99% identical to the Deluxe Reverb amp that I own. I played it through the Apollo x4 into Luna and got excellent results without the unwanted noise that I was getting when using a microphone with my amp.
Quite a piece of gear.

I haven't had a chance to play live using the Dream '65 but it is the perfect pedal for capturing Fender Deluxe Reverb tones while recording. The spring reverb, vibrato, and speaker simulations are spot on. Beyond it's incredible tone this pedal is a joy because it is streamlined to what you want and doesn't give you a billion options you don't. So for starters, this pedal is based on the 1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb. You already know that. What you may not know, is that the Deluxe Reverb has two really different channels; normal and vibrato. The Dream 65 is modeled after the VIBRATO channel. I'm not an amp expert by any means, but I've owned this pedal for a year and done many shows with it. Here's what I've noticed.... (I ran it at the end of my signal chain, in stereo, and used it as my only amp sim)

*The UAFX app is absolutely dreadful and unusable. A complete and utter disgrace. And it's not available on desktop either.
Once you DO use the app, you get 3 new IR's and access to presets. Well, good luck saving your edits. You can't pull them up again unless you're in the app. That's extremely confusing on stage if you forget because now the controls on your Dream 65 do not reflect the changes you've just made inside the app. The app relies on bluetooth connectivity which frequently goes unrecognized by your phone. Opt for USB in that case...
*The Strymon Iridum allows for 9 different IRs. The Line 6 HX Stomp has over 120. This one has 3 and you can't even pick them. Hmmmm.
*It distorts REALLY quickly. The headroom is not that great.
*It could benefit from a midrange control. You have bass and treble for EQ.
*There is an almost indiscernable noise going on besides the usual 60 cycle hum. This always occurs even with a noise gate. You'll notice signal even if you mute the channel. My FOH guy HATED that. But in a band mix, no one will complain. This could be due to user error, incorrect wiring or power, or just a faulty unit. So just my two cents...
*Let's talk about the power supply... oh wait, there is none!

The clean tone is fantastic. And the audience will love it. That's the important part, right?! The tremolo sounds really cool and authentic. So does the reverb. If you're looking for giant Hillsong United style wash, you won't find it here. But what you'll get is a very nice emulation of an old school Fender reverb tank. The D-Tex feature is cool. It brings you close to SRV style cranked amp tone. Stock mode is fine for most everything. Lead mode I never used. Just not for me.

Overall, it is a nice pedal. If you go this route, you'll get compliments. It sounds great. However, if you can spring for it, I'd go with the Line 6 HX Stomp. Download some good IR's from York Audio, shelf them at 80Hz and 7000Hz, tweak to your liking.

For me, the title says it all.

OK, it's not perfect, but at clean levels, it is very impressive.
There are some interesting audio artifacts (possibly from the actual sampling) at higher gain levels, but the clean sounds are well worth spending some time with this unit.
I found it impressive enough that I will keep.
The way I have it set up, it is currently one of my 2 favourite units.

It sounds really good running through the PA or the studio gear.
But I am even more impressed at the way it has given an old 1990's era Peavey Classic Chorus 212 (Scorpion 12" speakers) a new life. The preamp on that old Peavey is so noisy that it was absolutely unusable.
But I am running the Dream 65 into the stereo amp inputs, and it sounds amazing.

I currently like the sound I am getting out of this rig better (slightly) than my Jazz Chorus, and I have never said that about any amp since I started playing JC's back in the 1980's.

I decided that I need to spend as much time praising the good stuff as I spend complaining about the gear that is not so great, so I thought I would write this review.

Once again, UA knocks it out of the park. Plays well with pedals and direct into your DAW. Works like an AMP with Bonus features at an affordable price!

I got this pedal as a solution for playing in places that frown on live amps (primarily churches) as well as a potential recording tool for when I can't mic up one of my real amps. Settled on the Dream 65 because, while I can appreciate the sound of other amps, I almost always prefer the classic Fender Deluxe/Twin/Princeton tone.

The sound of the pedal is outstanding and counts for a lot. I would expect no less from UA. It's extremely reactive and plays very much like a real tube amp. There is maybe(?) a little more high frequency tone loss when rolling off the volume knob on the guitar than I notice with my real amps, but I haven't tested this very extensively and I also don't typically run my amps/guitars this way. I do appreciate the decision to make the Dream 65 a one trick pony that does one thing really well, as opposed to the other current amp modeler pedals that seem to do several things decently well (ACS1, Iridium, etc).

There is a perplexing lack of clean headroom, which I can understand is frustrating to some people. I don't play guitars with particularly high outputs, but even in the case of my Strat which is the lowest output of all the guitars I own, I can't go past 1/4 of the input gain knob before it starts to break up. My Les Paul practically has to be run at zero input volume to avoid saturation. I don't own a real Deluxe Reverb to compare this to, but I certainly don't remember the ones I've played breaking up quite so early. That said, I don't see this as a problem because (unlike a real amp) here you can run the input volume all the way down and still get a perfectly usable clean tone. The boost knob and mod simulations also temper this issue (particularly in the "stock" setting) because the input gain and boost knobs are highly interactive. At lower input gain settings, the boost knob seems to just add punch and color more than saturation. So you can actually be more precise in dialing in the "edge of breakup" sound than you could with a real amp. For those that are bothered by this (or who do play guitars that maybe start distorting with the input volume at zero), I wonder if it could be fixed by something as simple as a software upgrade from UA.

As good as the pedal sounds, however, there are glaring practical issues with the Dream 65 that almost negate how good it sounds. First is without a doubt the lack of MIDI and/or expression pedal functionality. In the age of pedal technology we're living in, these seem like a baseline expectation for digital pedals, so the fact that the Dream 65 doesn't have them is baffling. In a live environment I would absolutely want to program MIDI changes to account for different guitars, songs, etc, but sadly...no. We're limited to ONE preset toggle (like a Strymon pedal from 12 years ago...) and no ability to control things like vibrato, reverb, and boost via expression pedal. Both the Iridium and ACS1 have these functions, so the fact that the Dream 65 lacks them is as frustrating as it is confusing.

There are also issues like the lack of a headphone output, which seems like a pretty massive oversight. So much of the convenience of an emulator is being able to casually play electric guitar quietly. But with the Dream 65, at minimum you'll need a headphone amp and a Y-cable in order to do so...on top of an already $ pedal. Both the Iridium and ACS1 are equipped with headphone outs, so why couldn't UA have followed suit? Additionally, while I didn't have the connectivity issues some have reported, the app itself is pretty limited. Source Audio pedals, for example, come with a whole host of additional parameters that can be changed via their app, but the UA interface seems pretty much exclusively built for saving and recalling presets (which should be accessible from the pedal itself). I would have loved the ability to tweak additional parameters (particularly reverb settings) via the app, but no dice.

Overall, I think this pedal is worth keeping for me and anyone who really loves the Fender blackface sounds without the inconvenience of an actual tube amp. The sonic quality is hard to argue with, and I think it will prove useful as a recreational and recording tool, and will probably be fine for most church services where I'm not switching between guitars and patches too frequently. That said, it's disappointing to think about how truly astonishing this pedal could have been with some added functionality.

I purchased the dream for a direct solution with my pedal board. It delivers!
I use a princeton or deluxe and prefer to use an amp whenever possible but there are situations where I need. direct solution. I plugged this up and it was like having the deluxe. I felt it worked good witht he in ear solution.
For me the amp in the room is what I am always chasing especially when on in ears. I would always rather have my amp beside me but I had an enjoyable live playing experience with the dream and treated it just like my amp.

This pedal does even more than I can do with the real amps! UA had broken the barrier with more than just modeling. Bravo!!!

I also have a Strymon Irridium which is very good. I still have the Irridium for my smaller rig but the Dream 65 is dialed in from the moment you turn in on. The Irridium needs lots of tweaking to get a similar tone but it's not spot on and lacks the full reverb and vibrato that the Dream has. The app is wonderful when it works but the BT connectivity is spotty and unreliable. Also, would it have killed them to add a headphone jack??? The Irridium has that.

Didn't really expect what I was hearing when I plugged this thing in. Big surprise. Surprisingly very close to a cranked deluxe.

I play with a 74 Vibrolux Reverb and modest pedalboard. Basically the SRV style of combining two overdrives for levels of boost. Delay, chorus, that's about it. I currently have the Dream 65 at the end of my pedalboard and use it as an amp substitute. I can go to my Vibrolux as normal, or I can skip the amp going through the Dream 65 to another speaker. PA, generic amp, whatever. Handy for quick practice or in a serious situation if my amp were to die at a gig! Also have a DI box right there if I need to run it to the board.

The Dream 65 allows me to not really change my setup, as it takes my pedalboard as is. Trim some boost here and there, but I'd really need to do that anyway based on what I was playing.

The ability to have a backup that doesn't compromise my sound, setup, or feel (and not another amp!) is really a game changer. I am a snob, the one who cringes when I see a band with no amps. But this seems different to me. I'm not ready to case up the Vibrolux by any means, but feel much more protected against disaster. And honestly don't mind NOT lugging my amp to practice!

My experience is either I got two bad units or this product is way over hyped.

When you plug into this pedal amp for the first time, you have to go in knowing what it is. I went in thinking this would sound similar to my Twin Reverb and that was a false expectation. This is actually a pretty dirty amp with not a lot of headroom, which at first bugged me. But the more I've played around with it, the more I love it. It's actually capable of a ton of different tones. You can get plenty of good clean sounds as long as you keep the volume knob low. But you can also get some really cool dirt sounds when you crank the volume. And the fact that you get a really lovely spring reverb and vibrato make this thing a steal.

After a year or so...UA has REALLY outdone themselves. While I don't have any experience with a real 1965 deluxe reverb, I have played plenty of variations on the deluxe reverb and this one is every bit as good as every other deluxe reverb on the market and surpasses most of them. It is extremely easy to dial in a solid tune for a clean pedal platform for worship music or kick it in the pants for a classic crunchy rock tone. Its absolutely sublime and the stereo imaging is a super awesome "nice to have" for a wider sound or to funnel stereo wet effects through. The app is useful and intuitive as well. I won't be caught dead without this on my board for worship sets or travel gigs now.

I have been wanting to round out my tones with a classic Deluxe Reverb sound and, having experience with the Ox Box, I decided to buy the Dream '65.

I was a little skeptical that it would sound and react like the amp in question but, UA impressed me again. With the selection of cab sims, mods, spring reverb, and vibrato (not to mention a great selection of presets), I've been playing through it, for the last few weeks, almost exclusively. I plugged my overdrive/boost into it and it takes the pedal like a champ.

Whether you're looking for the classic sound, a Texas drive (D-Tex), or the 80s and 90s lead, you really can't beat the Dream '65. Especially, at a price that won't drain your bank account.

Okay, maybe that title was just a cheap way to get attention - what I meant was that I'm very glad that this great amp pedal doesn't try to offer every imaginable guitar sound by using 1024 digital presets. Really, the only thing this pedal does is give you the sound and feel of a blackface with spring reverb. There are a few nice variations added, like the different speakers and amp mods, but the differences are very subtle - for me, the best thing about the Dream Reverb amp is that, just like a Deluxe or Twin, it's so simple to just plug a guitar straight into the amp and have a sweet, highly useful clean sound ready to go. Although the original amps were known for their bright tones and splashy reverb, my favorite tone with this kind of amp is a warm jazz sound with the reverb level down so far you almost can't tell it's there. The 4 cable mode offers some great ways to combine this pedal with other amps, altho I haven't really had a chance to try it out yet. I can't really think of anything that is a "con" about this pedal - but I will point out something that some other people have mentioned - the volume control on the Dream Reverb goes to an overdriven sound (about 8 or 9 o'clock) while the original amps seemed to stay really clean to a much higher level (maybe 2 or 3 o'clock) I'm not sure why this is, but it does seem to make sense - if you want loud and clean you can just turn up the output level or your power amp level. Okay, I'll stop yakking - I'm really looking forward to getting more great sounds from this pedal!

I've bought two of these pedals. The first one stopped working after a few days. I exchanged it for aother one. The new one stopped working after a couple weeks. It sounded truly truly amazing and I loved it, but after two failures, I am done with UA.

Years ago, a drummer friend of mine had a Fender Twin which sounded and felt amazing. I had a terrible amp by comparison back then. The Dream has that FEEL. Very nice. I play all headphones these days, and run this into an Apollo. Feels great, and can feel like I'm playing really loud. Really cool with dirt pedals in front of The Dream too.

THE REAL DEAL… FINALLY! It seems like every other modeler/emulator I've tried has been nothing but a glorified distortion pedal. They do a so-so job at the hi-gain tones, but don't seem to even bother getting the more difficult clean tones right. And you know Fender fans need the clean stuff to be accurate. This pedal is faithful at ALL gain settings. All the glassiness and sparkle of tubes is there! Speaker models that actually sound like different speakers and not just a simple band-pass filters. I love that you can configure the foot switches to your liking… I had no idea about this feature when I made my purchase. I suppose a review should list Cons… well since most of my gigs are outdoors, I wish the footswitch LEDs were a lot brighter... minor point… I love this thing!

I recently got the UA Dream 65 pedal. This thing sounds amazing and I'm having lots of fun exploring all pre sets. I highly recommend this pedal! Money well spent!

I've always played Fender amps, and when I decided to switch to Vox, I really started to miss that Fender sound. With this pedal, I have the best of Both worlds!! I enabled 4-cable mode in the UA app, and then I wired this pedal up according to the manual so that when this pedal is switch off, my guitar signal is going through my Vox AC30's preamp circuit. And then when I switch this pedal on, my guitar signal goes through the UA Dream's preamp circuit, and then directly to my AC30's effects loop return, which bypasses the Vox preamp circuit. This is a very clever feature that UA came up with to add a new channel to your amp (your amp must have an effects loop).

Anyway, I'm blown away by the way this pedal sounds. I get a lot of those bluesy, Chris Stapleton guitar sounds when I play through this pedal. The reverb is amazing on this pedal too, and I wish there was a way to get my delay pedal to somehow come before this pedal's reverb circuit, but that doesn't seem possible at the moment. Maybe in a future firmware update, UA will enable a new mode to use some of the 1/4 inch jacks as an effects loop. Until something like that happens, I'm just not using the reverb in this pedal, and my delay and reverb pedals come after this pedal in my signal chain.

I haven't really used the speaker emulation, but if you didn't already know, you can turn speaker emulation off if you want to run into an amp you already have.

I really look forward to UA's version of a Plexi style amp one day. I know they're working on something, they kinda hinted at it on their community forums. I will definitely be purchasing one of those! I can't wait to have a Vox, Marshall, and Fender sound all with one amp!

UA's The Dream pedal really a dream within a dream. The sounds I get through my strat are amazing. I use it mainly for recording. It has inspired some new tracks and forced me to go back and redo some older guitar parts that need treatment. Really a great piece of hardware.

Sweetwater is the only place to buy gear. They still provide great customer service and it feels like you're part of a club when you make a purchase. I won't go anywhere else.

less than a year later not one but TWO of these pedals have started having issues on me. distortion/fizziness in my signal and an intermittent screaming noise that make the pedal unusable. and good luck with UAs customer service via email only lol

I was blown away by the tones in the Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb my son owns. It also blew my ears out of the room.
The Dream is a perfect alternative, and better in some ways.
The output control allows you to turn the volume down without changing the tones significantly.
In addition to modeling the stock amp there are two additional amp mods available along with six speaker options.
Since I mostly play thru an audio interface into studio monitors or headphones the Dream fits easily.
I am still experimenting with running the Dream thru conventional amps. It seems to work as a preamp.
I recommend it.

I like the UA stuff (I also have an Apollo interface) because it's a software sound, but feels immediate. When there's a delay between what I'm playing and what I'm hearing, that's just not inspiring. I've owned a Music Man tube amp and have played in a band where someone else had a Fender Twin (and I played it a good deal and loved it). This UA pedal feels like those amps. Feels great. Takes a Rat distortion or Tube Screamer distortion or reverb pedal really well. I play exclusively with headphones these days, and run the Dream into the Apollo, which has tons of volume.

I was going to get a Jazz Chorus to record stereo (I wanted the outs, not having to mic two amps) and my engineer, Ethan, told me about this. It came yesterday and I have never been so blown away as I am with this. Does exactly what I wanted it to do - sound like an amp in stereo - and although I have never owned a Fender 65 I have played them and, like most people, they are on my "wish list" - honestly, I think this is better. If you record your guitar you will not be disappointed in this unit. A++ piece of kit.

Excellent piece of gear - perfect for guitarists who want a high quality Fender clean sound but don't need (or want) to drag an amp around. Plays with pedals very nicely, just like an amp. In my area, unless you're doing an outdoor gig at a large venue, keeping stage volume as low as possible is the only way you'll get booked again. The Dream '65 gets you there and without a substantial compromise in sound quality.

I've only had it a few weeks but so far it is a dead nuts sounding deluxe reverb. I have used it on several gigs without an amp and it's really doing the job. It's great!

First, I have never played an actual Super Reverb. Until the past two years, I thought gain and tone were the same word. I have played Fender's Tonemaster version however, and up until Dream, that was the best my fingers have ever sounded. This sounds way better to my ears. Not as good through the front of an amp. Decent, but nothing like through the FX loop. The Sound is all there. I first noticed it playing one morning, and my coffee got cold! That never happens. I have been able to whittle down my pedal board to almost nothing because of this pedal. It feels nice not having to chase anymore.

I owned the Ruby for months and was blown away. I finally got my hands on the Dream and its a dream come true. The 4-cable mode is incredible. It allows you to create a "hybrid" amp consisting of a digital preamp into a tube power amp. The biggest difference being that the tube power amp comes last and ultimately dominates the tone output. When running through a tube power section and a real speaker cabinet it's very hard to distinguish digital from not.What's the difference when your effects loop is sending back digital reverbs and delays anyways? The dream is superior to me because of the control layout. Each knob operates simply as stated and the settings don't change with the amp styles. The only knob that operates subtly differently with the amp styles is the boost. The Ruby and Woodrow have more of a learning curve, but all sound and feel like 95% of the real deal. This also sounds great direct to PA/interface with the speaker models. UAFX did something truly great with these pedal-amps. The app almost always opens and runs smooth, allowing access to a nice selection of presets. Overall these look amazing, are priced fairly, and can convince any old tube snob into loving it.

best amp simulator in the market, yet!

UA has some serious work to do with their software for this pedal. I never could get a it to pair with my phone in order to get it into 4 cable mode. I specifically bought this with that feature in mind and without it, the pedal is pretty useless to me.

It sounds pretty good on it's own but I really wanted to be able to use the 4 cable method. Support gives you a list of things to try that are all very elementary and none of which seem to help. (Restart it, delate ap, remove from bluetooth device list, factory reset, etc.) All stuff that most people would have tried before contacting them. Their support team relies on email to communicate so of course it takes forever to get a response. Very frustrated with both the company and the product. I guess I'll just go get an iridium and wish I hadn't wasted a lot of money on this thing which I can't even sell in good faith to someone else now. Thanks UA, thanks a ton.

I like this pedal. When I play through yamaha H5 monitors it sounds a lot like an amp. I haven't recorded anything but i have hooked it up through the mic input of my focusrite 8prex using a DI box, i had to buy that separately I didn't know you needed a DI box before i bought the pedal. The reverb and tremolo are excellent and the UA blue tooth and app are the easiest i have ever used to date. I am more comfortable using the artist presets then my own, i only wish they had more well known players half the artist i never heard of and when I looked them up some of them were youtubers who do product reviews, good players but I don't think of them as recording artist.

I have tried all three of the universal amp pedals I have the 65 dream in the 55 Woodrow and tried the ruby I am very impressed with how organic they sound, and feel perfect for recording. All three have an excellent edge of break up tone, which is hard to get out of most modelers these are very intuitive, and the workflow is simple. You won't suffer from paralysis and have more time to play. You can fall onto perfect tones instantly I would definitely recommend thanks to Randy and Holly and the rest of the crew at Sweetwater. Great place to do business with.

Obviously I was a little skeptical that this pedal would sound so close to 65 reverb, but this pedal has blown me away. It really is a must have pedal!

Very good replication of a Deluxe Reverb 65. Only issue I had with it is that you have to switch to ALT setting to access vibrato effect. That could be inefficient when playing live requires a quick change. Would be great for home recording.

Don't get me wrong, I like this pedal but it's not a Deluxe Reverb amp. It breaks up between 3&4 whereas my amp has to be pushed at a much higher volume before it distorts. Another thing that I question is why none of the speaker sims are a 12" speaker. The pedal records nicely . I also use it to record the bass…

After much research and getting the Ruby, I decided to get the Dream, since my base tone is a California clean Fender/Mesa tone. I connected and OM!!! it really feels, not only it sounds but the feel, I think that is the most important factor. We as musicians create and project emotions, so the sound and texture creates a feeling so for me not only has to sounds or be super tech, but it has to feel like it, and It really does!! The Ruby left and The Dream on the right channel, my sound went to the next level. UA has revolutionized the audio world, but also they have changed the guitar/amp simulation world, simply an amazing product...

I had very high hopes for this pedal. I'm past 60 now, so gear weight is more of a consideration these days. I ordered the Dream 65 along with a Headrush FRFR-108. To my ears it has the same issue as every other digital amp simulation I've tried, which is a fuzziness/harshness that I can't get past. I'm currently gigging with a 1975 Deluxe Reverb and quickly realized there is no comparison when playing the two side by side. I can't agree with all the YouTuber reviews claiming it "feels" like you're playing through a real DR. My Joyo American Sound and SansAmp FlyRig were both more pleasing to my ears. The search continues.

Playing live I just bring my guitar, this pedal and a delay. No need for anything else.

The tone is raved about by the band mates. The most beautiful full sounding tone, rocking Fender you will hear comes through the PA's.

I have a Fender DRRI and a Marshal JCM800. No need to lug either around anymore.

I've been using the Deluxe Reverb amp for 20 years or so. This pedal is close... only real difference that I find is that it starts to break up at a much lower level than my amp. I would need to push my amp to 7 or so and with this pedal, i can't get past 3 before it starts to distort. Otherwise, it responds like an amp... depending on guitar volume and attack. It's a great pedal for my home studio and would also be an easy set up for gigging... much easier and lighter than the real deal.

Really skeptical about replacing my tube amp rig with this but I've really come to love this setup. I normally setup with either my old peavy classic 30 or or Egnater Rebel 30 with a mic'd cab with vintage 30 speaker and wanted something easier and zero stage volume for church and this fit the bill. I loved it so much that I just go ahead and gig out with it as well. Really true Fender amp sounds. I'm running it into a line level DI and get great results.

Universal Audio did it again. Another great product. I now have an awesome Virtual amp that I can travel with, and have an excellent guitar tone with anywhere in seconds. Psyched!!!

Not a big review guy. In fact I think this is my first for a guitar product but this thing is seriously so good I had too. I've been playing for about 20 years and have owned 5-6 fender amps including 3 different deluxes, and in a studio context I have recorded on a handful of originals and I got to say I am blown away by this. I didn't think digital could feel and sound like this, at least not in 2022 (thought we'd be like the Jetson's with robot butlers before it got this good).

If you want the feel and sound of a deluxe plus some bonus mod deluxe sounds, buy it. On a personal side note I think the limitation of it being one amp is an underated tool. Legends that we as guitar players look up to sound the way they did because they played the amp or in rare cases amps they did. They didn't have 15k options to choose from. Just grab this and play. Incredible stand in tool for a 65 reverb. I would have killed for this when I was learning electric and I'm sure it would have saved my Mom from a million headaches

I'm a solo guitar player and I haven't used an amp in a few years. I've owned a few amp simulators including TC Electronics and Strymon. The Dream 65 is the closest true-to-life unit I've owned. Responds well to picking dynamics. The spring reverb is awesome. Built like a tank and easy to use. I put a TS9 in front of it and it responds very well.

I recently sold the Universal Audio Dream '65 after playing with it for a few weeks. I purchased this hoping it would be a great direct to PA solution, but I couldn't make it sound good in a live, direct situation. The unit is far too bass heavy through 15" PA speakers. Also, contrary to almost every video that came out on YouTube after its release, it didn't sound or feel like either of my two Deluxe Reverb amps. I've gone back to the Strymon Iridium for direct-to-PA work. It's far more adjustable, and the mid-control allows much more flexibility to match it to an array of PA speakers. It feels and sounds better!

First off, I'm a duffer. Been playing guitar since the mid 60's, so I have a well-tuned ear for what a GOOD vintage black face Fender should sound like. In fact, I still own an original '66 Bandmaster and a '68 Princeton. I also own a hand-wired Deluxe Reverb clone. I'm not planning on selling any of these 3, but after spending some time with the UA Dream '65 pedal on my small board, I am completely comfortable playing out with this pedal, direct to FOH, and leaving my amps at home. It's THAT good! Super realistic tone and feel. I figured it would be a good pedal after a lot of personal research, but nothing prepared me for the mind blowing realism of this one! I've tried a couple other extremely popular amp pedals, and they are not even in the same league as this UA Dream '65 in capturing the true essence of a GREAT Fender Deluxe Reverb. This one also takes pedals as well as a real Fender amp. I couldn't be happier! If you're on the fence... just pull the trigger! You'll be glad you did!

When it comes to sound... this pedal blows the iridium and ac1 out of the water... yes, it lacks some features and amps... but if what you really care is tone and feel then this pedal is the best...
I currently own both the dream and ruby and they are both amazing... even though they are supposed to only emulate one amp you can achieve a lot of different tones with the ability to switch speakers and add mods...
I really wish they had a headphone jack... but like I said, the realism in touch sensitivity, feel and tone makes up for it...
I also own an iridium and an acs1 and they are good units but my main complaint is that they do not take dirt pedals well...
I really hate when people say that the iridium takes pedals great... No! It doesn't ... at least not good high end sensitive drives or fuzzes... an iridium will never take a fuzz like a tube amp does....
The UA Dream does take pedals great... you can throw in a germanium fuzz, or a touch sensitive drive and it breaks up beautifully... both acs1 and iridium fall apart imo when introduced to some touch sensitive drives to the point that to me they are unusable ... anyways... this pedal is fantastic, it truly makes you forget about your amp... you will not miss it...
for recording this product is invaluable ... both the Dream and Ruby are some of the best recorded amp sounds I have ever heard... buy it! You wont regret it

The amp I always gig with is a 65' Deluxe Reverb (Reissue) so this was a natural choice for me. I swapped the amp for this pedal, run my pedalboard to a DI box and then direct to the board. Right now, I hear everything through my floor monitor/wedge.

I think the pedal not only feels, but sounds as good as the amp mic'ed up but with a lot less issues (mic crossover, upset sound engineer, etc.). I don't have to bring my amp, mic, mic stand, and glass shield (to stop from blasting the audience) to a show; just my guitars and pedalboard and it sounds fantastic. Each member of the group were blown away that it was a pedal they were hearing.

One tip: I use the preset button as a lead solo switch. When I switch to the preset, I have it rolling off bass, increasing the volume and overall output, and adding just a bit of the boost.

It handles drive and modulation pedals really well.

If you are able to run direct and get good monitoring (or you could run to a power cab), it's a fanstastic option.

I ordered this pedal early on after only hearing a few YT videos. I have made my living playing live for the past 30 years. I own a Line 6 Helix and the Kemper Profiler. This pedal is just a pleasure all around. It is uncanny how I get lost into thinking I have an actual 65 Fender Deluxe Reverb when I play through the UAD Dream 65 pedal. The boost mods are brilliant. The spring reverb is the best I've heard. Responds fantastic. The sound is the sound I hoped for. Home run for me.

This pedal does a lot... although, it isn't perfect and it's quite expensive. My only real gripe is that it begins to break-up rather early - if you have humbuckers, you won't make it to 10 o'clock before break-up. If I want a truly clean tone, I dual the gain all the way down and make up for it with the master volume.
The tremelo is great, and the different tones you can get out of it via the mods and boost functions make it very versatile. It takes dirt pedals well... even fuzz.
I run time based effects, like delay and verb, AFTER the Dream 65. This works exceptionally well as long as every pedal you have placed after the Dream can accept a line-level signal.
Overall, I'm very happy with this unit. I've had it for about 3 weeks and the honeymoon is over. It's staying on my board for a while.

Sounds and feels like playing through fender amp. Has the weight and clarity. Wide variety of complex tones.

PROS:

- It feels very close to a real tube amp, if not indistinguishable.
- It sounds great.
- You can achieve a very large palette of sounds, it's not just one amp.
- The reverb sounds great.
- Tremolo is excellent.
- Very seriously built.

CONS:
- No Effects Loop - It's actually a real issue for me. If I use the Dream 65 with my Victory V40, I use the amp's effect loops. That means I can't use my delays and reverbs in this loop anymore. Of course, if you use these time-based effects at the end of the chain, after the overdrives and before the Dream input, the sound is very altered. A saturated reverb or delay is not usable, in my case.
I use the Dream output directly in the Return of my amp's effect loop. UA, I hope it will be possible in the near future to use Input 2 and Output 2 of the Dream as an effect loop! You can reconfigure the inputs/outputs for the 4 cable method, we should be able to get this option as well.
- No midi - hard to integrate with modern pedalboards with loopers.
- Even if I technically understand why they didn't use TRS, XLR outputs would have been a nice feature at this price point.
- The app is nice but not fully ready. In my opinion, the presets are almost unusable without the ability to see the settings. We should be able to see a diagram with the values per preset. You can see which amp/cab is used, which means it is possible.

CONCLUSION:

It is a great sounding product - If you are after that type of tone, of course (waiting for a marshall as well) - but in my opinion, it is not fully ready for prime time yet. I really hope we will have firmware updates in the near future (for the effect loop in particular).

I've used modelers before and the only one that I came to like is the ToneMaster series. I wanted to further condense my setup by adding the Dream 65 to my board and see if I could use it as a board only config.

I've been able to use at church direct in to the system and with a powered cabinet. I can't believe this is what I've come to but I wish my ToneMaster sounded this good. If you're wanting a Fender Deluxe Reverb like amp, this is it. The spring, tremolo, the amount of configurations you can have is unreal. Took my drives amazingly. I didn't really have to change them either compared to what I was normally using. I'm a fan!

Everything and more of what I reviewed on YouTube and Sweatwater. Thinking of buy the other 2 Amps from UA...

If you want endless possibilities, versatility, midi and about 85% of the tone… get an AxeFX / Helix / Kemper / Iridium / AC1.

If, however, you want that extra 15% of quality of tone and amp response / feel and don't need all the extra options… get the Dream.

It's just a better playing experience. The end.

I had high hopes for this pedal. When I swapped to the Apollo interface and began using UAD Plug-ins, I was blown away. When I saw they were going to the amp cab sim pedal world, I was really excited. I've used the ACS1 and the Iridium, but I never really used a lot of the features that those have that set them apart. This doesn't give you a million options (although it is surprisingly flexible), but you get one amp sim that is done to a staggering quality.

I always used the fender deluxe mode in other modelers and this thing blows them out of the water. It also takes pedals super well and I was very impressed. With firmware updates, I'm sure it'll only get better, but it's already leading the pact in my opinion.

There are some drawbacks like no midi, no headphone output, and features the competitors have that this doesn't, but this does what it does in spades. It does take up more real estate than some of the others, but it's well worth it. I would recommend getting something like the Walrus Canvas or the Pinstripe Diso+ to convert the unbalanced output to a balanced output (this way you can run xlr cables to your board or interface with little to no degredation as opposed to the unbalanced 1/4 ts outputs).

Try this thing out and I'm sure you'll be impressed.

Bought the Dream 65 and the Woodrow. These are next-level pedals. Truly, truly remarkable. No stone left unturned by UA.

I watched a better review of this pedal along with the ac30 and the Tweed version and these are nothing short of miraculous! Too bad they're all on backorder or I would have two of them on my pedalboard right now! My only complaint here, and I'm not trying to disrespect Mitch but I wish they had somebody like Danny Rabine demo these pedals or somebody that could really play to give us the full on vibe of what these things can do. Other than that and again I'm sorry because
I really respect Mitch because he's a talented cat and he's super knowledgeable
And has helped me make several decisions based off his knowledge of the gear. I just really want to hear somebody tear it up and take these demos to the Limit.

PROS - has great tones , you can really dial in the sound you want quickly - unlike some other pedals i have which are great , but more difficult to navigate , upload air's etc

CONS - i like the mfr , however i hate that they are targeting SRV copy cats everywhere - sorry , SRV tones can be had anywhere - why make a quality pedal , greatly engineered , different sound than all others and then sell as a SRV tone source?

Wow...now this is how amp modelling should sound and feel! When you don't feel the need to think about how an amp "model" compares to the real thing and you instead just enjoy the tone it creates and feel the nuances of the "real thing"...that product has been made right!! I also own a Quad Cortex and love the sound/tones of the 'capture' feature but, the UA Dream '65 really nails a clean to heavily overdriven (and everything in-between) '65 DLR amp...way to go UA, you did it!

Everything you've heard about this pedal and all the UAFX amp pedals is true. When I played the first note through this my jaw dropped. These are truly gamechanging and totally crush anything else you throw up against it that isn't the real amp it's emulating in both sound accuracy and feel. Not only did UA take the best of the best of these vintage amps and put their sounds in an affordable little box but they somehow managed to still give us the feel of what it's like to play them. The feel and response of these is just ridiculous how much it feels like a real tube amp. I promise this won't disappoint. It's worth every penny and more for what you get. Forget the gripes about midi and a headphone jack on these. What UA has done here doesn't need extra gimmicks to add value. They nailed it with tone and response.

I've been using the iridium for a while. It's been fine but it's never blown my mind, and the one thing I struggle with is getting the natural harmony of A built in spring Reverb with an Old tube amp. Man, this thing comes as close as I could imagine without it being the real thing. The built-in spring Reverb is the best digital spring Reverb in a pedal that I have used and sound so natural with the amp. What I discovered is I could more or less make this pedal sound close to the iridium fender type, but I can't make the iridium sound like this pedal… With the three different speakers and the responsive Tone controls, you could really dial in what you are looking for. My two negative critiques are that the break up sound happens too fast, under 12 o'clock on the volume knob. There's also some artifacts in that drive sound that I don't find too pleasing all the time. Some of the time it sounds great. It sounds a little different depending on the speaker and the setting. So I wish There was more headroom but I'm not sure it matters because I could just keep the volume low, and the output high. My other critique is that it would be great to have a mid range control knob. I haven't played it out live yet, but at this point I'm thinking it will be a great replacement for the iridium. In general I would say it's brighter and more mid scooped than the iridium, but again it's also very responsive to tone controls. My drive pedals sound great through it.

I've been looking for an amp sim pedal for over a year and have purchased the Iridium and the ACS1. I play direct into an interface and really hadn't found anything that comes close to the dimension and joy of playing through an actual amplifier. This pedal does. Holy cow, the thing just sparkles and makes playing so much more fun.

UA completely nailed the tone on this one. It really is very inspiring to play on. I have all of the major modelers out there and I also enjoy them, but the Dream 65 just has that extra something that is hard to describe. You really do forget that you're playing on a guitar gadget. The feel and tone are flawless.

I also like that there aren't too many options. There is way more than enough flexibility to give you a wide creative pallet without be buried in too many options.

I can't stop playing!
