Your New Virtual Preamp
WaveArts' Tube Saturator 2 is a killer modeled tube preamp circuit with analog EQ. Gently overdrive Saturator 2 for pleasant warming, or crank it for fat, full-on distortion. Just like Tube Saturator V1, version 2's circuit simulation technology captures every detail of the analog circuit. The behavior of the individual tubes, resistors, and capacitors is converted into mathematical equations which delivers the exact same sonic mojo as the physical circuit. While the original consumed copious CPU juice, WaveArts made TS-2 impressively efficient. The Saturation section runs around seven times faster; yet the modelling is even more accurate. WaveArts' Tube Saturator 2 includes the original circuit sim of the 3-band Baxandall-style EQ found in your favorite guitar amps.

It's simple: You're recording; you need a great-sounding preamp. At Sweetwater, we were mightily impressed with the sound of the original Tube Saturator. TS-2 not only runs a lot faster, but has many new features as well. You can now switch between virtual 12AX7 and 12AU7 tubes for different harmonic overtone flavors. You can now switch the equalization to run pre- or post-saturation. Saturation and EQ are now separately switchable. Also, you have a 2x oversampling mode with a great-sounding resampler algorithm. (Use this to attenuate aliased distortion harmonics.) Also new is a mix control to blend the processed sound with the original. Lastly, there's a beautiful new interface that makes WaveArts Tube Saturator 2 look as good as it sounds.
