Surfs up

By Sweetwater Customer

I wanted a decent surf tone, and for this price range it gets real close. I've just begun to get into all the internal goodies. Plug it into your phone, open the program and its all right in front of you more parameters to get you into trouble. I've run three different guitars through it, different pickups and I don't think a more expensive pedel would make that much difference. My opinion of course. So far I like it

best stand alone drippy reverb and tremolo i also top notch

By Ryan S. from Valrico, FL

I use this pedal alot and have used for over a year. It has different engines for Reverb and Trem. I enjoy the trem fearture alot I use the ource tap to turn on and off. Got me purchase a Collider as well for my all arounf delay and reverb. I use true spring for a different tone. Oceans 11 is a nice pick but not stereo no midi theres alot packed into a Source pedal and you can use from pedal or app.

Close to the real Fender classic reverb sound, but not quite

By Sweetwater Customer from NV

I thought this pedal might replace by 60's reissue Fender spring reverb, the tube unit with the physical springs. While it couldn't fully replicate that reverb, it came close, and is considerably better than the reverb in my Fender Deluxe Reverb amp, which also is actually a quite good tube driven reverb with physical springs.

The Best Spring Reverb Emulation

By Andrew from PA
Music Background: Guitarist 25 years

This is the best digital emulation of spring reverb in existence. Not even Strymon's spring reverb algorithm comes close. Nor does Catalinbread's. And those are really good. They're not as good as Source Audio's True Spring.

If you want the most authentic sounding spring reverb in a pedal - this is it.

Surf's Up!!

By Ed H. from Paso Robles, CA

I was all set to drop $$$ and get a Surfybear reverb until I stumbled on a review of the True Spring. No regrets. This thing has all the drippy surf sound you could ever want. The Neuro Desktop app makes it really easy to dial in and save the exact sound you want.

Source Audio True Spring Reverb

By DNM from Maplewood, MN
Music Background: Amateur

My Marshall Origin 50 Head has no reverb. I wanted a classic reverb (no deep space or ridiculous shimmer) and settled on this Source Audio True Spring Reverb. I haven't explored the options via the app and don't know how much I'll use the available digital tremolo (I've got a Fulltone analog tremolo pedal), but the default reverb choices sound exactly as I hoped this pedal would provide. Incidentally, the app allows you to switch the phase of the pedal output. I haven't tried that. I also haven't yet run this in the effects loop of the amp. It sounds glorious right now at the end of my chain.

Awesome drip!!

By Sweetwater Customer

This is absolutely NOT complicated. That one star review is either a troll or needs help tying his shoes. This pedal is great and gets that drippy tank sound right out of the box. Highly recommend!

Incredible, far more than the best spring Reverb on the market

By Jay B.

I am rarely blown away. This thing is incredible. Its simple to use if you want it simple. No menu diving at all. Just an awsome spring Reverb. However, you can also add SA Vertigo Tremolo as well, Bias, Opto and Harmonic... Then, you can use your phone or computer to go even further. You have access to an incredible amount of customization and basically if you want you can get any reverb sound out of this, anything from long ambient modulated hall to crazy dirty plate sounds if you experiment. Ive never used such an incredible pedal. I hate menu diving but the organization of this pedal is amazing. Can't recommend enough.

As per the other 1 star reverb, i have absolutely no idea how someone could call this a complicated one trick Pony, couldn't be further from the truth.

Sounds good. Too bad it’s WAY too complicated.

By Mattymel from Cincinnati

Bought this pedal after buying to all the hype and listening to some demos. I have to say, no complaints with the sound. But, after having owned it for over a month, its still is a total mystery to me.

I"ve read the manual and watched tons of videos and for the life of me, I can"t get it to save my preferred settings using the app for the pedal. It"s extremely annoying! To make it even worse, the factory settings are WAY too "drenched" sounding, as the DWELL knob doesn"t control reverb length (like basically EVERY reverb pedal on the market), instead it controls the signal hitting the reverb. Ok, I get that that"s how old reverb tanks worked. But the factory setting is WAY too wet sounding to be useable for most non surf rock playing.

I have even written to manufacturer to inquire how to save a normal Dwell knob function (as is supposedly an option), and no luck. So basically I"m stuck with a one trick pony reverb pedal. And I don"t even like that pony. Guess I have to learn some Ventures.

Also, forget about using the tremelo. It"s also equally complicated to use. More of a tease because it doesn"t sound bad again, just TOO tricky to use on the fly.

Im not a pedal novice. I"ve owned almost every pedal under the sun, including ones that use apps to save presets (Eventide H9, TC Electronics, etc), but this one is just a bummer. Made even more annoying because I can tell it has the potential to sound great.

Reverb for days

By JD

The most realistic reverb pedal I have heard in years. Short, Long and everything in between , this pedal does it all. Don't believe me? Just read the Guitar Player magazine review.
