Mesa's King of Rock

The Mesa Engineering Triple Crown TC-50 50-watt 1 x 12" all-tube guitar combo is Mesa's supreme rock 'n' roll-voiced amplifier. Its 3-channel design offers two modes on each channel for American-sounding clean tones on the first channel, aggressive crunch on the second channel, and thick high gain from channel three. The Triple Crown TC-50 combo is also loaded with features such as MIDI-capable switching, a true spring reverb that's footswitchable, and even Mesa's impressive CabClone direct output. The Triple Crown TC-50 combo is a versatile amp with a rock 'n' roll soul.

Three wide-ranging channels

Though the Triple Crown's three channels feature a straightforward design, that doesn't make them any less versatile and powerful than other Mesa designs. Channel One's toggle switch selects between Normal and Drive modes and can deliver sparkling performance or vintage-style breakup. Channel Two offers Normal and Tight modes to control its mid-gain voice. Rock 'n' roll players will love this channel. And Channel Three also utilizes Normal and Tight modes to deliver classic Mesa Boogie high-gain drive.

Built-in CabClone

The Triple Crown TC-50 combo packs a built-in CabClone internal amp load and speaker simulator. It provides an incredibly realistic speaker-emulated direct output to plug right into the sound system or recording chain. You can still use it in conjunction with the amp's internal Celestion Vintage 30 speaker, or you can disengage the speaker for silent practice through headphones or recording. It'll also allow you to cut down on stage volume, which will help give your band a tighter, more controlled live sound.

Loaded with guitarist-friendly features

Not only is the Mesa Engineering Triple Crown TC-50 50-watt 1 x 12" all-tube guitar combo a fantastic-sounding amplifier, but it boasts a bevy of features that every guitarist will find beneficial. The true spring reverb tank is footswitchable, along with the tube-buffered effects loop. The amp ships with EL-34 power tubes for British vibe, but a bias select switch enables the TC-50 to run beautifully with either 6V6 or 6L6 power tubes as well. And the combo amp is also MIDI ready, enabling it to integrate into even the most advanced guitar rigs.

Legendary Mesa quality

Around Sweetwater, the Mesa Engineering name is synonymous with high-quality construction. As in the Triple Crown TC-50 50-watt 1 x 12" all-tube guitar combo, all their amplifiers are constructed with only the finest materials, with special attention being paid to durability. In this vein, the TC-50 features an all-aluminum chassis, a 6-button footswitch that will handle years of abuse, and tight-fitting cabinet construction that is rugged and throws your tone to the back of the house.

Reviews

Mesa Excellence
I recently bought one of these combos used. I was concerned about lack of low end that I read about in reviews about this amp. I find no shortages of low end. I don't chug. I am super happy with all of the tones this thing puts out. I owned an Electra Dyne combo, which I could barely lift and move around anymore. I traded up for the TC50. The TC50 does everything the ED does, but does it better and is 20lbs lighter. I ended up using 6V6 tubes in the TC for excellent tones in all channels at a lower wattage. Don't get me wrong the EL34s sound wonderful too. The Vintage 30 spkr is good, but I personalized the sound with an Alnico Cream Celestion. To me 6V6s and the Cream is heavenly! Smooths out the mids and tames the high end just the way I like it. This amp is amazing. I can't believe I'm just discovering this now, since Mesa has been making the TC series for years. I also have a Fillmore 50 Combo, which is great too. My opinion is the Fillmore has the best clean tones and the TC has the best overdriven tones. It's great to have both!

Triple Play
I have owned many Mesa Boogie amps over the years and have sold them due to two reasons. I either needed the money or felt that it was too much of an amp for my modest needs. Forget that.

I have attempted to sell my TC-50 over the past two years for the reasons above and after much thought and soul searching I decided to keep it. I have owned countless guitar amps mostly tube models. After trying to make a less expensive am sound like a boogie, I end wasting much time and money and end up with a ton of pedals that may only get close but never the same.

A lot of people who review Mesa's state they they are made for heavier metal types of music but that could not be farther from the truth. So what is the truth. The clean channel sound much better and clear than any Fender Amp. To compare it to a Marshall and for those Marshall fans out there, I am sorry but, I have never played a Marshal amp that was not overly saturated or muddy.

As I stated, channel one is pristine clean and with plenty of options to modify the sound. Channel two has a bit more gain and suited for blues or classic rock and channel three, the the options are limitless. The only pedal that I use with my Boogie is a Boss DD-200 delay and a volume pedal. That's it. Why would you mess with perfection.

Lastly, I purchased my in August 2019 and the price of the unit has gone up. If you are a professional musician or serious about creating magic, this amp will deliver and very likely be the last am that you own. Imitation is flattering but simply not the same.

Perfect Amp!!!!
I received my Mesa Triple Crown last Tuesday. That Saturday I was in the studio recording guitar solos for my bands 2nd album. The engineer asked me to re-track rhythm tracks using the Mesa because it sounded so good. The clean channel can get all the "Twang" I need. The drive mode on the clean channel is perfect. The 2 gain channels are both awesome as well. I can not wait to use this awesome amp live!!!!Thanks Mesa for this perfect amp and Sweetwater for the always excellent customer service

Almost 5 stars!
I'd give it 5 stars but the reviews are correct, the reverb and effects loop change the tone of the amp. Not just by a little either, by a lot. I don't know how it wasn't obvious to Mesa because it's not subtle at all. But I don't really use FX loops or amp reverb most of the time and that's not why I got the amp. The sound of the 3 channels is definitely 5 star to me. Cleans up amazing like a fender amp and dirtys up like a Marshall or even heavier if you so choose. Tons of gain and a huge foot switch with a solo button (and the crappy FX loop and reverb which I won't be using anyway.) Maybe you could keep the reverb on all the time and change up the tone control to balance the sound you want back to how it was but it just shouldn't be like that for a pricey amp. Anyway Killer product. I highly recommend if you want a badass amp and don't care about the FX loop or reverb.

the search is over
best amp i ever played. bought an open box at a discount. it was pristine. clean is deep and warm. ch 2 tight mode gain around 2:00 is instant acdc. ch 3 has more gain than ill ever need. reverb sounds really sweet. im not a big pedal guy and this is a great plug n play amp. if you cant get good sound from this may i suggest you give piano a try.

It's hard to imagine a more quintessentially modern guitar amplifier than a Mesa/Boogie, and when Sweetwater guitarists want high-gain tone, Mesa is where they start. One thing we love about these amps is their sheer versatility, such as the massive range of tone you get from each channel, the freedom to use the tubes you love, onboard CabClone cabinet emulation, and MIDI control. And it's not just guitar amps - Mesa/Boogie's bass amps and pedals are equally cool. What's more, thanks to our incredibly close relationship with Mesa, you can even customize your own amp right here on Sweetwater's website! Get the sound and style you want from your next amp, with a Mesa/Boogie from Sweetwater.
