Theta Pro after all these years

By Bill R. from Elkhorn Nebraska
Music Background: Christian, blues, rock, etc

I know these have been around for a while now, but honestly, I've been looking for this for decades. I heard a guy by the name of Danny Malloy playing through one of these and everything he played was just so sweet. It has such a wide range of sounds and surprisingly easy to configure. This will probably be the last piece I ever buy. I'm done now.

The Best

By Sweetwater Customer

I have heard one of these and am ready to pull the trigger. I have talked to ISP and they are actively working on placing a USB port in for firmware updates. Once this is implemented I will be pulling the trigger on this unit...And yes I have heard fractal, Line-6, and Kemper but this is the one that is the keeper.

The Best

By Murat C.

This product is probably the best piece of gear I have ever purchased . I've been playing for decades and the flexibility and tones this thing delivers are simply remarkable . I understand it's pretty pricey , but it is well worth the cost . You won't need anything other than this unit if you're a serious guitarist , plain and simple . Purchase a simple self-powered floor monitor if you want an isolated feed for hearing yourself live and you're all set .
Thanks , Sweetwater.

Amazing Preamp

By Chad from Cheyenne

I saw this demonstrated at NAMM 2018. The sound was crystal clear and in stereo. Being technologically challenged, I was hesitant to consider anything other than a tube amp to play thru. Since I mostly play solo to backing tracks, I always struggle to match volume levels between my amps and my sound system. I saw this as a potential fix for that problem. I was right. I also liked the fact that is was foot switchable and wasn't overloaded with too many user inputs - in other words, it's pretty straight forward considering all it does. I now have this connected to my board. Volume matching is very easy. Building your own presets is allot easier than I thought it would be. I now have songs saved, with each song having it's unique presets. For example, clean and dirty; or, rhythm and lead for a given song. No more multiple pedal arrangements and loosing settings on individual pedals because a knob gets moved. No more loading 60 lb. amps. It's rugged, dependable and the sound quality is in it's own league. I know that sounds cliché, but it's true. The demo at NAMM sounded like I was wearing headphones but it was two floor speakers. Also, a word about ISP: The customer service is wonderful.

Amazing

By Chad from West Bend WI

I have this and the analog pedal. They sound very alike but the digital unit has way more control. It does not sound analog at all. It is not a Marshall boogie or fender sound at all it's a isp sound. It is basically a clean crunch lead with a lot of eq built in. Not a modeler at all but you could say that it models an isp amp. It is very easy to use but for the switching and routing I had to get the manual out. I like the fact that it doesn't have touch screens 10 knobs, USB etc. Not much to go wrong with it. This thing has amazing cleans too from crystal to fat jazz type tones. Very robust build. This unit excels at rock and metal tones but can do lighter crunch sounds amazingly well too. It is also very quiet even with the decimatior off. I have had the theata analog pedal for a few years and now this for abou 6 months. Isp rules.

Silly Good.

By Ben O. from Gloucester

It's got kind,of an old school look/feel in comparison to all the other newer digital pedals. THIS IS WHAT I LOVE ABOUT IT! No super big screens, and extra useless bloatware.

The tones are KILLER, and IMO surpass the Helix, Fractal etc. (after some tweaking for your speaker/s, setup, of course). I'm using it with a QSC K10 for monitoring on stage. We use K12s for Mains so what I'm hearing on stage is almost a perfect representation of what the audience is getting. This is great. Just set the "Stage Out" and "Main Out" EQ settings similar.
I don't like having umpteen amp models to choose from, so this unit having just its own 3 channel preamp (Clean, Theta, and Vintage) and having enough EQ and shaping tools is perfect for me. You can dial in anything from Fender clean, to classic AC/DC, to flat out screaming metal. The presets were usable, but def needed some shaping.

The dedicated volume knob for "Stage Out" monitor is sooo useful on the fly. Many of the competitive units are missing this. Its actually a huge deal for me.

If I were to nitpick, I would say having one more front panel knob for adjusting the amount of gain (for whatever patch you're on) would be cool. It does not have a USB for updates, but honestly, I don't think I'll be needing any updates. Its that good. No tuner either, but I use a dedicated polyphonic tuner for that (and muting) anyway. Looks like the new MS Theta Pro DSP model has a tuner if you want one built in.

In a nutshell, this is THE most underrated "all in one" pedal on the market. Best kept secret in the new wave of digital guitar processors.

I've just shed over 100 pounds from my rig. Guitar, Pedalboard, and K10 monitor. That's it. Got a in my backseat. Goodbye 4x12 cabs and fragile inconsistent tubes.

Thank you ISP !!!!

Quality Tone

By Sweetwater Customer

I have used guitar effects processors for 15 years stereo direct through the mixer. This guitar effects processor is supreme to any that I have owned. It allows pre & post eq to fine tune your tone. The built in decimator technology is awesome - noiseless tone. Has all the effects needed and makes your sound soar. I can achieve any tone I desire for electric and acoustic (with a piezo pickup). My setup: Parker fly deluxe guitar, 2 mission eng'g kemper model expression pedals, 1 for volume & 1 for expression, stereo xlr direct into a hi end mixer and front show system and it gives me a big sound. Also, a TC mini poly tune2 mini tuner with true by-pass.

Theta ROCKS again!!!!

By Adam from Bloomington, IN
Music Background: Lifelong musician

I demoed the snot out of this thing at NAMM. Everything it's cracked up to be. Sonically, it's just amazing. And at NAMM, it was just a prototype!!!

The Theta preamp is just like the analog versions you find in the head, combo, rack and floor pedal Theta. The four-voice chorus is rich, smooth, clear and incredible. Delay and reverbs that are lush and open. Tremelo, phaser (is excellent) and a great flange.

An expression pedal out that can control any parameter you assign it to... two XLR outs with KILLER cabinet emulators and simultaneous 1/4 inch stage outs with their own separate volume so you don't have to fight the sound guy.

A Vintage preamp for blues, jazz, rock and mid gain tones that is dynamic and response to pick attack and rolling off/on the volume knob on your guitar.

A Jump feature to jump from one preset to another without scrolling... many other killer features... but most importantly ALL OF IT SOUNDS AMAZING. Decimator built in to kill any noise.

Simply incredible...
