Timeless Tele Looks and Sound with a Few Modern Touches!

The Fender Custom Deluxe Telecaster solidbody electric guitar combines classic elements with a few modern touches to bring you a truly amazing Tele! The Custom Deluxe Telecaster provides all the great elements that made the original such a timeless instrument: an alder body and classic "U"-shaped maple neck (topped with a rosewood fingerboard), blade pickup selector, and 2-pickup configuration. Locking tuners, a Hot Nocaster bridge pickup, and a "Twisted" Tele neck pickup provide modern touches. Want modern performance and reliability with your old-school Tele vibe? Play the Custom Deluxe Telecaster!

Fender Custom Deluxe Telecaster Solidbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:
  • Alder body with "thin" nitrocellulose lacquer finish
  • A great pair of pickups
  • "U"-shaped neck

Ash body with "thin" nitrocellulose lacquer finish
To allow the Custom Deluxe's alder body to more freely resonate, Fender uses a special "thin" nitrocellulose lacquer finish on this guitar. The perfect complement comes in the form of a three-ply parchment pickguard, plus the distinctive "Nocaster" chrome dome knobs and "top hat" switch tip.

You can't beat this pickup configuration
For a perfect combination of classic Tele tone and modern output, Fender outfitted the Custom Deluxe Telecaster with Custom Shop "Twisted" Tele single-coil in the neck position and a Hot Nocaster in the bridge position. You get all of the twang and high end sparkle the Tele has become famous for since it first appeared in 1951, plus the robust signal strength you need for different styles of music.

The classic feel of a "U"-shaped neck
Leo Fender wasn't afraid to "think outside the box" when it came to guitar designs. In the 1950s and well into the 1970s, the blond natural maple neck became almost synonymous with Fender guitars. This Custom Deluxe Tele features a trademark maple neck with a classic "U" shape, topped with a rosewood fingerboard with a 9.5-inch radius. In keeping with contemporary player preferences, the fast playing neck is finished in smooth satin polyurethane.

Fender Guitars
You could easily make the case that Fender electric guitars were responsible - at least in great part - for the birth of modern rock 'n' roll. Originally designed to be easier to build, and thus more affordable, Leo Fender's masterpieces, which include classics like the Stratocaster (is there a more distinctive guitar shape in the world?), the Telecaster and the original Precision Bass, were at the core of a musical revolution that spawned everything from surf to country to punk!

In the 1960s, when Fender guitars first hit bandstands and stages all around the country, it was astonishing to see that trademark Fender maple neck and fingerboard. Though the company eventually offered rosewood fingerboards as standard or optional on its entire line of instruments, those first"blonde" necks really shook things up. Others have picked up on the maple neck theme, but it's clearly yet another of Leo Fender's "firsts."

Today, no other manufacturer can match Fender for the sheer number of options available throughout its entire line. While vintage Fenders can command astronomical prices, the company now has the widest range of quality instruments in the world. Fender instruments have been played and prized by some of the highest-profile players in music, including such luminaries as Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, David Gilmour, and Stevie Ray Vaughan - to name a just a few.
