Fender American Professional Classic Telecaster Electric Guitar - Butterscotch Blonde Reviews

Solidbody Electric Guitar with Alder Body, Maple Neck, Maple Fingerboard, and 2 Single-coil Pickups - Butterscotch Blonde

The Fender American Professional Classic Telecaster seamlessly swerves between modern Fender playability and traditional Tele trim, offering you authentic USA-made Fender quality with a no-nonsense, performance-minded approach. This Tele’s lively alder body packs two Coastline ’63 Telecaster single-coils — pickups that embolden era-accurate, early-1960s twang with a hotter, more robust output. Next, a string-through-body “ashtray” bridge with a trio of brass saddles warms up the Tele’s treble response in the 1950s tradition. Meanwhile, Fender's staggered ClassicGear tuners combine retro style with rock-solid stability. And while several of this tremendous Tele’s specs pay tribute to the historic Fenders of yore, the neck’s slim Modern C profile, 9.5-inch fingerboard radius, and medium-jumbo frets supply an unabashedly contemporary feel beneath your fingers. Sealed with a suite of alluring finishes inspired by Fender’s golden era, the American Professional Classic Telecaster is an instrument that’ll have your back over a lifetime’s worth of gigs and sessions.

American Quality

By Garry C. from San Jose, CA

This is an excellent telecaster. I have 3 Mexican Teles and 2 American Teles… the Mexican made Fenders are better than ever, but the American made Fenders are clearly head and shoulders above the rest. Treat yourself and spend a little more on an American Fender, you will never regret it. Thanks to Kenny Plisco for all his help!

Love this guitar

By Sweetwater Customer
Music Background: Intermediate guitar player

The first Tele arrived and after after one day I discovered what I considered to be a larger than normal gap between the neck and body next to the low E string (pic 1). I contacted my sales rep, Mike Bell, who put me in touch with Sweetwater's support team. They overnighted me a replacement Tele (and a free return label for the first Tele) and everything this time was perfect out of the box (pic 2): workmanship, action, playability and sound. The '63 Coastline pickups are just what I was looking for - vintage Tele sound with a bit higher output.

I cannot say enough good things about Sweetwater and Mike Bell - thank you for being such a stand up company and thanks to Mike for your detailed assistance throughout the whole process. You have a customer for life.

Stunning Tele

By Roy B. from DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, FL
Music Background: Life long student.

Exactly what I hoped for! My only complaint is it came with a gig bag instead of a hard case. Every other American Fender I've ever purchased came with a hard case. Hard times, Fender? But the guitar is splendid!

Amazing!!

By John F. from NY

I am blown away by how good this tele is! I have always been a Les Paul guy at heart but needed a good tele for my Petty tribute project and this Tele did not disappoint!! MAJOR shout out to my sales guy Bob Mondok for hooking me up and making the whole process painless… and another MAJOR shout out to the gtr techs at Sweetwater for setting this thing up…I was stunned how well this thing played right out of the box… For a guitar player to purchase a guitar without playing it seems like an insane thing, but the cats at Sweetwater have completely changed my mind on that… I wouldn't think twice about it now!!

Outstanding guitar

By Joseph L. from Maryville, TN
Music Background: KY thumbpicking for 50 years

When I first started searching the reviews on YouTube, they all consistently tickled my ear. Ian at Sweetwater hooked me up with a new one and it was better than the videos I had been watching. The pickups are great, and the neck is made to fit my hand. What more can you ask?

I'm not big on the color of a guitar but if I can get a tele in butterscotch with a black pickguard and a neck that adjusts at the peghead that is just extra points for me.

The gig bag isn't much but that not a biggie.

Overall, this guitar is a home run for me.

A big shout out to Ian for his help.

The new American Standard

By Mick

Feels like I was in a focus group and Fender actually listened. The American Professional Classic Telecaster keeps everything that makes a Tele timeless but smooths out just enough edges for modern playability. No gimmicks, no extras. Just the right tweaks.

It came perfectly set up out of the box and felt broken-in immediately. Even though it's at a lower price point, I don't feel like I'm missing anything compared to the pricier models.

It's truly the new American Standard, a modern-classic workhorse that inspires you to play more.
