Perfect (for me) reso heads!
These heads provide a mild cut of higher frequencies and have a great open, but slightly focused sound. These allow me to have a clean sound without muffling. My sound man doesn't have to ask me to muffle the drums and the sound in the house is fantastic. My favorite thing about Evans heads, in general, is that I find a high level of consistency from head to head when tuning. I use a tunebot and these Evans heads tune easier to the standards I have had to use in the past but actually will tune more accurately than I have gotten the other brand I have been using. Typically, I can get my drums tunes within about .5Hz of target, but in some cases on my SQ1's the heads were dead on the target frequency all the way around. I didn't even know that was possible.

Next level reso
Until now there hasn't been much to choose from other than your standard reso designs from the go to drum head companies. After installing these on a set of renown toms that had been giving me problems I noticed immediately an increase in attack,a more solid note,a tighter sustain, and a more focused low frequency. They also tuned up easily and play well with every batter I've tried. I can't imagine a situation where this would'nt be beneficial. These are my new go to tom reso head.
Perfect reso heads for so-so drums.
I put these on a set of old Tama Rockstars that needed new heads, and they do just the trick. With coated G2's on top, the sound is big, warm, and tonally focused. With drums in the beginner-intermediate range, the overtones tend to be unpleasant. These resonant heads do a great job of focusing the pitch of the drum so you hear a coherent note from the drum. The G2/EC Reso combo is highly recommended for rock, pop, etc.
