The Fast and Deep Sound of '70s Rock

The Evans Hydraulic Blue tom drumhead features two plies sandwiching a thin layer of oil, giving the head an especially fat, deep, and short sound made famous by early-70s rock. The oil decreases sustain, while enhancing attack and low end. Plus, Evans Hydraulic Blue drumheads are famously easy to tune, so they're a great choice for troublesome drums or beginning players wanting instant access to great sound.

Evans has been in the music industry for more than 40 years and pioneered the plastic drumhead in 1956. These weatherproof heads changed the drum world forever. Their state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Farmingdale, New York, produce heads that are unparalleled in consistency, durability, and sound quality. Evans is looking to the present and future needs of drummers worldwide.

  • Size: 10"

Reviews

Love the sound of the Evans hydraulic Blue heads
I use Evans hydraulics on all three of my DW collector kits. One of those kits is a DW jazz, which I used on a regular basis playing out.
The heads sound great they knock out a lot of overtones in a life situation. I'm not a hard hitter but for some reason, the 10 inch and 12 inch heads have a tendency to dimple very easily. Not sure if they change the formula. But it gets expensive and I'm sure they are aware of that and sale more!

Pros: Hydraulic blues sound fantastic on any kit. They really look hot! They dampen a lot of the nasty overtones.
Cons: The 10 inch and 12 inch dimple very easy so you have to replace them quite often. I am not a hard hitter. The cost has gotten ridiculous!!!! For the quality of the product.
