Amazing cost effective overdrive.

By Taylor V. from California
Music Background: Guitar and Bass player

The tube screamer mini gives the classic ts sound and barely takes up any space on your board. I sometimes like to run in in tandem with my Distortion pedal for a unique punch, but on its own, it's perfectly designed to shape its own classic sound. While it may not be as top tier as more expensive pedals, for under a hundred bucks, it delivers more than satisfaction. Unlike its older brothers in the Ibanez tube screamer family, the stomp button doesn't get stuck in the casing when you press down on it.

as good as the full size

By Bobby from Florida
Music Background: Casual player, hobbyist, open jam nights from time to time

My full size tube scream switch stopped working, so looked at purchasing a new one. Came across the mini, read the reviews watched some videos, and they werent wrong. Same tones as the larger size one and saves so much space on my board. Just note that even though its smaller you still have to give yourself enough room to hit the switch with your foot.

"That" Sound

By Chris F. from APO, AE

Only one way to get that Tube Screamer sound. The small form factor was very appealing. And, don't worry about the tiny knobs. Once you've got the pedal dialed in you aren't going to be fiddling with it much anyway.

I wanted the classic Ibanez Tube Screamer to go with my new Mesa Rectifier and it really lives up to the hype. The Mini works great and is the perfect size to squeeze onto my pedalboard. Thank you Sweetwater and Nick Holl for the fast shipping, great communication and service!

Great overdrive with an even greater price.

By Taylor

For it's size, it can be a very present drive pedal. Ranging from an almost clean tone to a much grittier OD signal.

In case of fire, save the Tube Screamer Mini...

By Jenny T. from COLUMBUS, GA

Of all the things on my pedal board, this is my favorite. I know I'm not supposed to play favorites, but I do. Fight me. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how to use. It makes everything sound exactly how I want it to. (I love pairing it with a fuzz or overdrive.) I feel like I use it pretty much with everything. Also, it's my favorite color: green. Add to it, I got a killer deal on it because I had some Sweetwater bonus bucks. This pedal is my dude.

The Mini Tube Screamer is everything everybody says it is and more!! If you're looking for an overdrive pedal that sounds perfect and doesn't take up a whole lot of space on your pedalboard... look no further!! I get great tones out of this thing on its own and super dirty stuff when paired with a Blues Crab!! Excellent pedal! And things went super smooth because of my sales engineer Jacob Leonhardt... thanks brother!

It's a Tube Screamer!

By Steve from Castle
Music Background: 50+ years of playing and still learning

For years we've all heard the Tube Screamer. It's shaped the sound of rock-'n-roll music for crying out loud. It's also not been without controversy. Some guitar players love it. Some guitar players hate it. After 50 years of playing, I finally decided to add it to my pedal board and decide for myself. I tried the TS and the TS mini and to me, the mini sounded every bit as good as its big brother. Oh, and after 50 years of playing, I've managed to become a spectacularly mediocre guitar player, but I think mini sounds great!

The Real Thing

By Joe from Florida
Music Background: Over 50 years of experience in playing guitar and bass, writing, recording, and playing live. Mostly blues and rock.

The warm mid heavy boost of this pedal defines the sound of the guitar in the classic rock era. Nice grind with guitar volume up. Cleans up nicely with volume rolled back. Good note definition and jangle. Output can be dialed up to make a tube amp sing. Enough grind for early metal, but lower gain settings work for any genre. Combine with subtle delay and your solos soar over the mix. Definitely not a good choice for scooped mid sounds-this is made to do the exact opposite. This one will be switched on more often than not when you're playing. There's a reason these have been used by everyone for the last 50 years.

Great Pedal, But......

By Don from Pensacola, FL
Music Background: Musician, Guitarist, Singer-Songwriter, Recorder & Producer

Does just about 96% of what the Original larger version does with a little more efficiency if pedal-train real estate is a priority. Yet, you may want to also consider a noise gate pedal of some type if you activate this little beast most of the time. This TS mini can create a bit of floor, non-musical hum-hiss at times. After all, it is a distortion pedal and ramps up gain when engaged. I've ordered the Pigtronix GateKeeper noise gate mini pedal as my own preferred remedy to tame anything I don't want to hear from my pedals and to allow more of what I do want to hear through my electric amp. If you do not already have a noise gate pedal and experience too much undesirable noise along with the beautiful distortion the TS delivers, consider adding a noise gate pedal to your chain.

Ibanez Tube Screamer Mini

By Christopher D. from Franklin, MA
Music Background: Old Dog (but can learn new tricks)

Does exactly what it is supposed to do in a small footprint pedal (no battery power hence saving space). Built like a tank. One of the few pedals that should be in every guitarist's arsenal as it adds just enough crunch to beef-up just about any guitar. Adjust tone and overdrive to find your favorite sound - that`s it !

My favorite overdrive!

By Jon
Music Background: Bedroom shredder/occasional jamming with band

I was looking for an overdrive that would work great with my Marshall DSL20 combo amp and Fender Jim Root Jazzmaster. As a metal player, I was looking for a pedal that wouldn't break the bank, be simple to use and give me a tight and saturated tone. This little gem did not disappoint. It for one takes up hardly any real estate on a pedal board. I also use a 9V adapter so I don't need batteries, but it can be used with just batteries for a LONG time as well. I can get everything from nice gritty classic rock tones all the way to the heaviest metal tones you can think of. I rarely go past 12 o'clock with my gain knob while keeping the tone and level knobs dimed out and the drive knob at 0. It even survived being dropped down my flight of 18 steps to concrete and had no damage at all. Too be completely honest…I've used a traditional tube screamer before buying this pedal (buddy let me borrow it) and I prefer the tone I get from this pedal compared to its big brother. I find it's slightly tighter and more clear sounding for some reason but that's just me lol. If you're looking for an affordable, simple to use overdrive pedal that won't kill your wallet, give the Tube Screamer Mini a go. I promise you won't be disappointed!

Great + Solution = Enjoy!

By Sweetwater Customer

Long time TS9 user here.
Have tried many overdrives over the years.
TS9 is my favorite.
Built a mini pedalboard using mini pedals.
Of course, this was the overdrive I chose.
Bought it as a demo from Sweetwater.
It's great!
It is slightly different from my TS9, but great!

My only complaint:
Tone and Level controls do not
have an easily visible marker.

My solution:
Borrowed some white nail polish
from my wife and made my own
easily visible markers.

Thanks Ibanez, Sweetwater, and, of course,
the love of my life! Hope this helps!
Cheers!

One of the best screamers I’ve played.

By Chase B. from Breaux Bridge, LA

I've had nearly every Tube Screamer except a vintage 808 and this is easily one of the best sounding. I currently have a vintage TS9 and TS10 and this beats both of them. More clarity, sweet breakup and sounds better with a cranked amp. If you're going to put a screamer on your board, go with this one. The only negative, it is true bypass so you will get some pop when engaging the switch.

The Same Tube Screamer You Know and Love

By Sweetwater Customer from Chicago

Purchased after the switching on my old TS9 was becoming unreliable. I always run the TS9 with the drive almost all the way down and the Mini sounds exactly the same in my setup. A bonus is that the mini has the nicer switch and the LED is a bit brighter.

My only complaint is with the top two mini knobs. They are great if you set and forget, but they are very hard to see. I may put a little paint on mine.

Ibanez Tube Screamer Mini Pedal

I bought the Ibanez Tube Screamer Mini Pedal to add to my pedal board. It has a different flavor than my Boss BD2 Blues Driver. Depending on the music I'm playing either one or the other will do the job.

It was shipped in good shape and works like a charm. I like doing business with Sweetwater, I know I receive great service and if there is a problem they take care of it.

Music Background: Garage band old fart playing since 1974. WHO HENDRIX BEATLES STONES ALLMAN BROTHERS JOE WALSH JOHNNY WINTER ZEPPELIN YOU GET THE PICTURE

1st of all I'm not a pedal user just so you know. I'm 60 and have played all my life without them.I just finished fixing up a 1962 ampeg 2/12 amp... very clean.... This tube screamer is awesome! Very versatile. Tone control makes this able to dial in your sound for any guitar you're using. I spent about 30 seconds setting it and never touched it again. For the money it's fabulous. 35 watt amp with 1962 Jensen C12Qs ..just reconed..this tube screamer made it sound like Marshall stack. I'm very happy with it. I haven't even
begun to to start adjusting it. Used a strat and les Paul with P90s all great but the P90s were to die for. I wish I was playing right now. I'm sure I could have dialed in the strat better but was having too much fun. Like I said very versatile pedal and very small for your pedal board. Why spend more? buy one it does what it says and I'm a tube freak

The footswitch on/off is not silent---you can hear it through your amp

By Gutarguy92 from Seattle
Music Background: professional musician

While this is a nice pedal in sound and compact size, the on/off switching is not silent---when you engage the switch
you can hear a slight 'pop' through your amp. This does not happen on the regular-sized TS9. Why they could
not make this silent I have no idea. Still a good pedal for your practice room or a backup onstage. I sent back my first
pedal with this condition to Ibanez, describing the problem; they sent a replacement one and it still 'pops' when switching on/off. Oh well...

There are better ODs at this price point

By Vinny

There are other pedals at this price point (or below!) that can do everything the TSmini does and more. Three big "cons" of this pedal are 1) it has some floor noise - as soon as you turn it on, even on the lowest overdrive settings, you can hear some noise; 2) the 'level' knob doesn't boost the signal that much, and you actually have to always keep it above 12'oclock to get unity gain; and 3) the range of the 'overdrive' knob goes from a little dirty, to full overdrive - but compare that to say, the EHX Soul Food, which can go clean boost all the way to full distortion...it's just not a great range of dirt. Maybe you buy this because you need something green on your board. Maybe you buy this because you just want a tube screamer, or have limited board space. But I'm telling you, there are better options out there at this price range, both in full pedal size and mini format.

Great little boost!

By Dave from Ferndale, MI

I haven't owned a TS since the late '80s. I kinda hate them into a clean amp, but for boosting a dirty amp, or a fuzz, they're really great. The TS mini is a real gem, I'm glad I decided to try a TS again.

The Gold Standard!!

By Mike L. from Ohio
Music Background: Jack of all master of none

Everyone has their favorite tube screamer, but there is a reason why when they describing them, they will invariably compare it to the Ibanez. This is the gold standard. Don't let the fact that it's not the most expensive lead you to believe it's not still "the best"! And don't worry, no sonic compromises are made getting this circuit into a mini pedal. Stop shopping around and buy this thing already!! It's the one you were looking for but thought you had to pay a boutique price to get.

Not a mini sound

By Dave from Lima, Ohio
Music Background: 40+ years classic rock

Great "little" pedal but not a mini sound! This mini tube screamer has the same functionality of it's larger predecessor. My local tech guys compared it, side bye side, to several normal sized tube screamers, of various models, and liked it just as well or even better then the models tested. I use a large pedal board and this fit perfectly. Try it and buy it!

Amazing little green box

By TM from Santa Clarita, KA
Music Background: Hack

There’s nothing mini about the power of this little guy. Admittedly a newbie when it comes to overdrives and tube screamers, I trusted the reviews here on Sweetwater and ordered the Tube Screamer Mini. This was for my Mesa Boogie Subway Rocket 10 inch combo. The Subway Rocket is a super quality, rich sounding, full tube little powerhouse...but I’ve always found the lead channel a little lacking. Like it just needed that something. Well my friends, the Tube Screamer Mini is exactly that! Following the other comments here Drive 0, Volume 100, Tone-personal taste perfect! Literally slamming the front end of the amp while NOT wanting to color its own tone. Chunking, harmonics, sustain have all come alive! Sweetwater service, excellent price, Sales Engineer Phil Potts, what’s not to love!

Why did it take me so long to get a Tube Screamer?

By Paul C. from Norwalk, CT

I've found the amazing world of plexis after 325 years of playing. There are a tone of ways to get more kick out of your vintage or reissue Marshall Plaxi so I went on the hunt. Bought 3 booster pedals. All three did fine. Grabbed an OCD for a bit more kick. Its great. But still something was missing. Now and then I want that LA/Brown/ high gain thing. Finally, I grabbed this. There's a reason why its the most famous OD. There's a reason why it's called a Tube screamer. It makes your Tubes scream. PERIOD. The Tone control is perfect. Doesn't change your sound just adds or cuts highs. Exactly what you want. The level control is strong enough to use as a booster if you wish. The sustain and gain you get is smooth and pleasing. It really is a great pedal. Buy one no matter what amp your p;laying. I have a feeling it will add magic to it.

Absolutely Perfect

I have probably owned around 30 or so different overdrive pedals in my life from very cheap to very expensive boutique. Had TS9"s regular and modified and never liked them... but the first time I heard a ts808 reissue in person I immediately loved the sound which is vastly different to the ts9 IMO... I just thought the ts808 was way overpriced... then a few years back Ibanez came out with the TS Mini... it took me a few years but I finally purchased the Mini and oh my goodness I was simply blown away with my strat -> tsmini -> amp on edge of breakup... I have found my holy grail of tone.. may not be the tone for everyone, but for me it is perfect!!!

NO excuse to not have a tube screamer!

By GuitarMan84 from TEMECULA, CA

No pedal board is complete without a tube screamer. It will give you that midrange to cut through the mix. It will tighten up your lows when playing some high gain. It can help your amp achieve its "sweet spot." I personally love playing through it with my neck pick up on my strat (seymore Duncan vintage rail). It's that pedal that either defines your sound or breaks your monotony. But, you gotta understand it's application as it is a very particular sound. Only negative (hence removal of 1 star) is that the higher you put the drive, the louder the clicking sound when you stomp on it.

Tube screaming !

By Rocker801 from SLC,Utah

This pedal kicks so much arse it's unbelievable . I've been on a overdrive search and have basically tried everything from boutique masters such as kingsley and analogman to regular staples like tc electronic and boss and this thing totally holds it's own into a marshall . It's the only pedal that works in both my afd100 and '79 jmp out of all of those drives and sounds killer and consistent in both . The clarity and feel under the fingers is great if your looking for a killer all around drive that stacks well give this a try you will not regret it ! Another drive that is great for the price is the tc electronic 'mojo' .

Great pedal

By Cody J. from Yakima, WA

A tube screamer in a mini footprint is the best way to sum this up. The pedal works great, is small and compact, and sounds great too. The only thing that I dislike is the fact that Ibanez doesn't paint a small dab of white in the indents on the mini knobs, which would make it easier for users to tell what the knobs are set to.

Other than that, there's not much to fault the pedal for, and while I have tons of Tube Screamer based pedals, but this is my first actual TS pedal. While it doesn't have the versatility of some of the others I have, it's still a very usable pedal and wins for being incredibly easy to dial in because of it's simplified controls.

I use it to get closer to a brown sound sort of tone with various pedals, the three main ones being two versions of the VFE Alpha Dog, and a Proco Fat Rat. I also have two versions of the VFE Distortion3, which is sort of Marshall sounding, but brighter than the Alpha Dog and Rat and more like an earlier version of a Marshall like a JTM45. Boosting those with the TS Mini sounds great as well, and tightens up the low end. I use a Two Notes Le Clean preamp, as well as Amptweaker Big Rock Pro and Tight Drive Pro also as preamps, into either an AMT 3w Tube Cake or my VHT Sig:X's power amp, all of which sound great with the TS Mini. A lot of people have "always on" pedals, and while this is not one of them for me -- I sometimes turn it off to get a thicker tone with less gain when needed, or to get a clean tone -- it is an *almost* always on pedal. It's certainly worth the $ I spent. When I need a boost that pumps the mids, and rolls off the low end, I use the TS Mini. When I need a more transparent boost, I use either my Matthews Effects The Architect or JHS modded Boss Blues Driver depending on the situation. If I had to choose one, though, it'd be the TS Mini because it's more useful for more situations and cost half of what the other two cost.

In closing, it's a great pedal, useful for a ton of applications, and worth putting on your pedal board if you want a tube screamer. Whether it's more like a TS9 or TS808, I'm not entirely sure, but either way, it sounds great to my ears.

Effectively Does what I wanted

By Dennis from Akron, OH
Music Background: Tone Tweaker

1.5 years of use

Currently I run my tsmini at the beginning of my chain right after my nr300. I originally purchased this little guy to push my signal just enough to get a slight breakup but found that it ends up sounding a little better if you push the overdrive more than you probably want to. I'll actually probably be purchasing a second TSmini with the intention of having two separate gain stages and the option of running both in series.

It's a great little pedal for what it is especially if you're looking for that real Tube Screamer sound. It might not be perfect for some applications as with any pedal, but this pedal does exactly what it says and does it better than I would have originally expected for the size and price.

Classic Tube Screamer sounds in a pedalboard-friendly size. I was impressed with its weight, it is all metal construction and solidly built. You could kill someone if you threw it at them hard enough...but don't do that! The sound is natural and warm, just like Tube Screamers of the past. Highly recommended.

I only have a single complaint: It's tough to see the settings on the two smaller knobs up top. I recommend putting a dot of neon paint on them to see where the knob is positioned. Problem solved!

Good drive

By Chad from Tennessee
Music Background: Primarily church

Classic OD sounds. It does have good tone and playability. I find it a little thin sounding, but it still rocks. It did a fine job as my primary, and now serves honorably as my secondary and lower gain drive.

SRV fans, just buy it. Why spend more than $ for the exact same thing? Unless you have hyper sensitive ears you won't hear much if any difference; of course I used to be artillery ;). Set your strat to position 4 and fire this bad boy up, and wipe the tears as you are in blues rocker heaven.

Fantastic OD Pedal!

By Rich M. from San Diego, CA
Music Background: Hobbyist, playing in three bands

Man oh man, where to begin with this pedal?! This thing has kicked every other OD off my pedalboard and freed up a whole bunch of space for new pedals in the process! I was expecting this thing to be kinda overhyped, but man if anything the online demos did not do this pedal justice, whether I'm running through my Fender Mustang practice amp, a 100w Mesa Boogie, or 1980's Marshall this thing just ROARS! The OD is super pleasant to listen to and gives it a very full bodied sound with no thinning of the tone, as a matter of fact with the tone knob just below noon it'll substantially thicken it, and I use a Les Paul so that's no mean feat.
This thing is also totally tiny, again the pictures do not show how small this pedal actually is. It can squeeze in anywhere and the staggered jacks make for easier cramming onto very crowded pedalboards.
On a side note, the only parts of this TS Mini that I wish they did differently was having jacks that gripped the plugs a bit harder and if they had a brighter LED.
Anyway, this pedal is a fantastic addition to any guitarists arsenal of tone, from a beginner to a pro this will definitely be a perfect gift. All guitarists love Tube Screamers and this will be something that they'll use all the time and love for years to come. I know mine definitely will.

Great pedal

By CURTISS B. from Texas

Easy to use, light a perfect fit on the pad. Only mod I made was to mark the tone and level knob with thin brush of "white out" correction fluid on the slots on the small black knobs as it's hard to see at a glance. other than that, it does all that it supposed to do.

OMG, why did I wait this long

By Phil S. from Virginia
Music Background: Worship, Indy and Rock

I was in need of another staged od pedal. I wanted the ts808, but after watching the vids and reading the comparisons of the mini to the 808 I d chided to take a risk, though calculated. Two other things my pedal board is just about out of space and I didn't want to drop the extra money if I didn't need to. So I ordered the mini.

Wow. I didn't understand what people meant by creamy od tones, until I connected the mini up and played thru my ac15 at just before breakup. Man, that pedal is what I had envisioned od to sound like, but never got there with my other od pedals.

I placed the mini after my Timmy and before my OCD. The entire set up just works like they were meant to all along. I found after hours of playing that I couldn't bring myself to turn the mini off. It sounds great at any setting. I'm actually thinking about getting one more.

Simply amazing!!!!!!

By Phil from Michigan
Music Background: Arm chair musician for 30 yrs.

I've been playing for over 30 years and have played many different overdrives but I always come back to the tube screamer. Often copied by other companies but never equaled. I saw the mini version and thought I'd try one. I was amazed how it sounded and how little space it took up on my pedal board.

Big surprise in a small package

By Ruben R. from Orlando, Florida

Used on a show with a Mesa Boogie Studio Pre-amp, a little noisy but not to worry about. Great overdrive, no loss of tone. And this little thing does pack some punch. Excellent for the guitarist that want to save space and money.
Also GREAT attention to detail from the staff at Sweetwater. Tyler you are the Best!

I love it

By Steve from Jennings, La

Great pedal.......I had one of the originals way back in '86 before I got into blues playing. Didn't work well back then, but is a perfect OD for the style of music I like to play. The size is awesome and I like a pedal with as few knobs as possible. My only con is that I wish the tone and level and the gain knobs were all close to being the same size.

Better than Expected

By EJM from Central California
Music Background: Hobbyist/Performer for 20 years

I purchased the TS Mini to be a dedicated booster for my other pedals and amps. My pedalboard is small and I thought I would try a mini to save space. I have owned numerous TS type pedals over the years and am familiar with how good examples should sound. I think the tone is spot-on, Ibanez did a great job shrinking it all down while preserving the essence of a good 808 style circuit. It drives my other pedals and amps very well and I am happy with it. I was skeptical of the build quality, I am not a fan of the full size Ibanez pedals and generally prefer Maxon for their superior build quality and tone. However, the TS Mini has performed perfectly and feels very solid. I highly recommend this pedal to anyone looking for a good booster or tone thickener.

Great value

By Dan from Fayetteville, Arkansas

Got a gift certificate and had been considering getting an overdrive pedal. After some internet research, I went with this one as a "best bang-for-the-buck" option. I play mostly bluesy hard rock and old school metal. My setup is an Epiphone Les Paul with custom passive humbuckers through a modded jet city jca20h and closed-back 1x12 with an old reconed G12M Creamback or a 4x12 when playing in a band setting. I use the tube screamer mini as a signal boost to push the front of the amp harder and also add some distortion for solos and metal songs. I have not tried it through a clean amp (the jca20h is quite dirty with the preamp and master volume on 6-7; I back off the guitar volume to get a 'clean' tone) and as such cannot speak for its effectiveness as a "stand alone" overdrive, but it excels as a boost in my rig. I have also used an mxr/cae mc-401boost/line driver and mxr 6-band eq for the same purpose, but overall I like this better. The relative boost to the midrange frquencies is perfect for lead work. With the pedal engaged, pinch harmonics and controlled feedback are effortless. I am not a tube screamer fanatic and have never owned one, but all my research indicates that this circuit is the same as the original TS-808 but with true bypass, which is a welcome option The circuit aside, this pedal sounds great. As always Sweetwater's customer service & shipping were fantastic. Highly recommended.

A good take on the classic

By Stephen S. from Houston, TX

As far as this pedal goes, it's a great value. I, personally, love the voicing of it. It's a bit of a hybrid between the ts9 and the ts808; closer to the 9 but less mid-range push if you know what I mean. It does the job of the ts9 very well, boosting an overdrive channel, but it also does a good job crunching up a clean channel as is so popular in contemporary music. As an aside, this thing is adorable, the mini size and the aesthetic, but all in all the look makes no difference, it's all about the sound, and for that I'd give this a 9/10.

Tube Yawner

By Sweetwater Customer from Maryland
Music Background: Decades of band and recording experience.

This pedal does what says and it's not bad. It does however really push your midrange and is somewhat harsh to my ears. It was well worth a try but for I think s Blues Driver is much smoother with a better balance on your tone.

I LIKE IT

By Sweetwater Customer from Southern California
Music Background: Active musician.

I can't count the number of OD's I've had. Some cost twice as much as this one and four times the size taking up the room of two pedals. I only run this at about 9:00 or so on the drive and bump the level a bit above my clean sound. I like everything about it size and tone wise.

Great Buy

By Scott from Apple Valley, Ca.
Music Background: guitar player 22 years

Sounds just like the bigger ones. It's worth saving some cash to get the mini, in my opinion it still has that old school TS sound. It does what I need it to do which is push the front end of my Carvin V3 amp on the high gain channel. I tune everything a whole step down (low to high) ADGCFAD and my low A on my Carvin 747 is way more defined, before it didn't cut through like I wanted... basically all strings more focused and articulated. Plus it takes up less real estate. One aspect I was kinda thrown off by was that there is no white line indicating where the tone and volume are set, this is an indentation but no mark which would help in dimly lit areas, but it's nothing a simple white out mark or dab of paint or tape couldn't fix lol.

Ibanez TS mini

By Ryan S. from SW Florida
Music Background: Modern country/rock/blues/funk

This is an excellent pedal with the jrc chip and true bypass. This pedal delivers excellent overdrive tones and is very versatile for all your guitar needs. Use it for some boost or grit or drive. You can't beat the price for this sturdy made in JAPAN pedal with a small pedalboard footprint.

Also, you just can't beat the service at sweetwater. My go to guy is Ben at ext 1275. These guys are polite, competent and know their gear.

Great Pedal

By Scott H. from Daphne, AL
Music Background: Semi-pro

Been playing for over 50 years and had lots of OD pedals but never a Tubescreamer because of the reported tone sucking even when off. They came out with this and for the price and size what the heck. Man was I surprised, this is becoming an always on pedal used to boost my other pedals in the chain and just does a great job. The tone is fantastic and when I do turn off for some really cleaner stuff no tone sucking. Nice not harsh, tight bottom great for blues and classic rock stuff!

Nice drive in a tight format.

By Ryan K. from Lake Zurich, IL
Music Background: Multi-instrumentalist, producer.

I'm no connoisseur of drive pedals, I needed a bit of drive for church on a budget and this newly released pedal was the answer to my needs! I like the sound of this pedal. Being particular keen on taste of my clean tone, this adds a bit more sparkle but not enough to be overbearing to my ears. Nice for bluesy solos and rhythm. The only reason I gave it a four out of ten is because the tone and level pots are very sensitive, I wish the range was extended and the knobs had more weight on them. Power adapter input on the top of the unit is a nice feature rather than like the mini poly tune where it's on the side; made integrating into my pedal board a lot easier. Bypass switch gives a nice click when powering on and off the unit and there's a light on in the on position. Don't know how this mini compares to its bigger counterparts, but after reviewing some youtube shootouts, I think it held up and even sounded a bit better in a modern way.

Excellent Tube Screamer pedal

By Evan P. from East Rockaway, NY

This is a great pedal. I've owned dozens of overdrive pedals, and this one delivers what I was looking for, tighten up the distortion for heavier tones, and turn that clean channel into a light crunch that isn't harsh on the top end. And it fits anywhere on the pedal board!
