Classic and Contemporary Combined
Thanks to its exquisite quilt maple drop top and matching headstock, you'll do a triple take when you catch a glimpse of the ESP USA TE-II solidbody electric guitar. This stunning top isn't just about looks, however. It also frames the judicious warmth and sustain provided by this guitar's mahogany body with the perfect amount of snap and bite. A pair of Seymour Duncan humbuckers yields ample output, an airy sizzle, and clear, singing notes — even under extreme high gain. The TE-II is a great example of why ESP USA is known as one of the best custom shops in the world.
Top-shelf tonewoods deliver superior sound
ESP wasn't fooling around when they built the ESP USA TE-II. They started with a body built from mahogany. The warmth and resonance of mahogany are at the center of some of the most legendary rock guitar tones of all time. But ESP didn't stop there. They topped the mahogany with a gorgeous quilt maple cap, prized for its bite and sustain, as well as its three-dimensional look. The result is an incredibly thick tone with a unique edgy character. This guitar's super-stable maple neck is topped with a fingerboard of ebony, which culminates in a comfortable-playing guitar with plenty of snap.
Seymour Duncan humbuckers yield ample output and killer tone
The ESP USA TE-II is loaded with a first-rate duo of Seymour Duncan pickups. The SH-16 '59/Custom Hybrid in this guitar blends coils of two of Duncan's more popular designs for prominent upper mids that give rise to articulate cleans and an airy, focused low end. The SH-2N Jazz in the neck is a bright, vintage-output humbucker with tight lows and scooped mids that sing clearly — even in extreme high-gain situations. And both pickups are coil tapped, providing you with excellent single-coil tones.
ESP USA series employs the finest materials from around the world
ESP started as a manufacturer of after-market guitar parts in Japan in the late 1970s. By the mid-'80s, ESP was making custom guitars for some of the biggest names in rock. An exacting eye toward playability and craftsmanship has made ESP Guitars one of the most visible and prevalent guitar brands in rock and metal. In 2014, ESP opened their first US-based production factory. It's there that they craft their acclaimed ESP USA series guitars by hand, using the finest materials from around the world. George Lynch, Ron Wood, Gus G., Kirk Hammett, and Alexi Laiho (and a bunch of us here at Sweetwater) rely on ESP guitars both onstage and in the studio.
