A Vintage-spec ’67 with Moderate (4/5) Relicing
Your favorite transition-era Strats are available for a limited time in the 2019 Fender Custom Shop Time Machine collection — available now at Sweetwater. The Time Machine 1967 Stratocaster bears the battle scars of a well-traveled road warrior, clad in a Relic-level (4/5) suit of dings, scratches, dents, burns, and raw wood that are just brimming with history. The ’60s Oval "C" rift-sawn maple neck sports a razor-thin nitro backing for unfettered playability up and down the fingerboard, which is radiused to 9.5" and inset with narrow-tall fret wire for a vintage playing experience and modern lead potential. A trio of hand-wound Custom Shop Strat pickups, contemporized with a 5-way blade for those coveted in-between tones and a master volume Tone-Saver Bleed circuit for smooth swells and fades, completes the package.

Exceptional tonewoods
This Time Machine 1967 Stratocaster sports a rift-sawn maple neck in a vintage-tinted '60s Oval "C" profile. Rift-sawn wood is the most dimensionally stable of all cut lumber, yielding exceptional strength and a linear grain pattern throughout. A nitrocellulose lacquer finish, which is thinner than modern polyurethane finishes, allows this Custom Shop Strat's alder body to ring out loud and clear.

Hand-wound Custom Shop pickups
The Fender Time Machine 1967 Stratocaster is loaded with three hand-wound, vintage-voiced Custom Shop pickups to deliver the spank, sparkle, chime, and chunk of an exceptional '60s Strat. Modern 5-way switching offers expanded tonal options, while a master volume Tone-Saver Bleed circuit keeps your highs clean and lows full even as you roll off your output.
Relic'd finish and hardware
As you can imagine, a true '60s Strat would show considerable signs of wear and tear, and the Custom Shop Time Machine 1967 Stratocaster is finished to represent those years of playing. Fender's aging artisans start with a period-correct nitrocellulose lacquer finish, and then expertly distress it to achieve a vibe indistinguishable from an actual vintage guitar. And while the Relic look will appeal to Fender fans and collectors, the Time Machine 1967 has tone and playability any discerning Strat player will respect.
