The Limited Edition Fender Custom Shop Sheryl Crow 1959 Custom Telecaster is more than guitar, it's the latest chapter in a story that spans this inspirational artist's extensive songwriting career. Crow's own love affair with the Custom Tele began early, and she kicked off her own success story, fueled by the release of the popular Tuesday Night Music Club record, playing one of these fine guitars on stages around the world. In 1994, her original Tele, along with the rest of the band's gear, was stolen.
When her band performed at the Backyard in Austin, Texas, a fan approached Sheryl Crow, offering his own 1959 Custom Telecaster as a replacement. It had belonged to his mother, who had recently died of breast cancer, and he insisted the instrument was meant to be played. Crow graciously accepted the guitar, which quickly became one of her most prized instruments. In 2011, Crow brought this guitar to the Fender Custom Shop where it was re-created in meticulous detail. In fact, when she received the first Fender Custom Shop Sheryl Crow 1959 Custom Telecaster, she mistook it for the original. A set of Vintage '63 Tele pickups capture the sound of an era in perfect detail, whereas finer touches such as the bone nut, vintage brass saddle bridge, and period-correct neck carve all add those unmistakable finishing touches that make the Sheryl Crow 1959 Custom Telecaster a truly remarkable guitar.
