Useful quality
This plugin provides a genuine, effective control of EQ. It's useful in mixing or mastering. I found it to be much better than several other EQ plug-ins I've used. The tone shape appears to have a soft curve to it, and doesn't apply a harsh contrast to the sound.
The Real Deal
I did a shootout between this and the stock emulation in Studio One. The complexity of harmonics that comes through this plug-in are amazing! Stereo tracks became wider, the low midrange almost had a 3D quality, making acoustic instruments sound as though you could reach your hand right inside the sound hole! And, the distortion is ridiculous! Try driving a parallel drum track with this thing - huge harmonics, depth and width! I am blown away! I have and love all Scheps' other Waves plugins, but this one is my new favorite - maybe favorite Waves plug-in altogether! Definitely not your grandma's boring equalizer. I'm tempted to put it on everything and track everything through it.
An EQ With Color
I was fortunate enough to get this bundled when I ordered the Scheps Omni Channel during a sale. This EQ has pretty much become my main EQ on vocal tracks and on final stereo mains. It has this incredible ability to really add clarity to mids or gut them for a great "hi-fi" sound. The low and high ends really makes things punch and sing. This is a superb compliment to stock plugin EQs and I use it as often as I can.
Just buy this. ...it is a crazy bargain.
Waves Scheps 73 Plug In
GREAT on drums, or bass if you want that booming full sound. I use it all the time.
review
great when you zero in on what you like
Not working
I have tried to install the software 4 times now. I am also a graphic designer and have been installing software for years, so I don;t think it's just me. Somewhere is the mix of crap that you have to do to get the plugin authorized something is not working. I work the same hours as WAVES tech support so I can't call. So as of now I have been unable to use the plugin.
Immaculate emulation
I'll make this review short, sweet and to the point. You need to get this plug-in. At last a 1073 that anyone can afford. Adds life, depth, clarity and presence to anything you put it on. It's as good as the real deal.
Awesome
Using it primarily to add some air to strings, oddly enough, and it sounds wonderful. Beautiful clarity with the option to add some minor distortion if desired.
Excellent Starter & Finisher
This eq is official. The reason I'm saying that is because I have an analog eq and this eq has almost the same effect when I cut or boost. I can't believe how real it sounds to be software in my opinion. I did catch it on sale but it's worth every penny even with the regular price. The distortion is crazy you should be able to get a great sound on any track to me. Try it you'll see. Keep it coming sweet water!!!!!!
Scheps the ****.
Great Tool for tone and character.
Scheps 73
This is a great plugin, I use it all the time. It's simple to use so you don't have to waste time trying to figure it out. I go on YouTube first to get other peoples thoughts before I buy any plugin. You can use it on each track (mono mode if you wish) or your main out (stereo). Another good thing is it's not a CPU hog.
Thick low end, smooth high end.
A lot of people talk about plugins adding colour to audio. This is one of the few I've found that actually does. I generally use this on a mix bus to add some smooth high end (a lot of eq's fail on the highs). The low end harmonics it adds is very nice too if you want to add some umph to a mix!
