I have this rackshelf at the top of a rack being used for a MacBook Pro. While it extends far enough to comfortably open the screen and has enough open space above the shelf to hide the MacBook when closed, the tray itself is less than solid. When sliding the shelf open and closed it isn't fluid enough and when extended it doesn't have a tight, locked feeling. There is some wobble. I just expected better quality for the money. Also, since I need to feed a power cable for the MacBook through the rear there is no punch-out in the rear panel for the cable. I have had to use duct tape to ensure the cable feeds through the middle in the rear, otherwise it catches on the sliding rail and won't slide all the way back. One other thing I hadn't factored in is when it is closed I have to grip the shelf in order to extend it. There is no tab or hook to grab in order to pull it out. The shelf isn't horrible, it just could be made a little better.

This is literally like the shelves used with particle board dressers/desks sold by Wal-Mart etc. It's just a cheap board with the slides and a rack attachment.

Excellent product. Easy slide shelf. Back ears is a nice feature to screw down the back of the unit. I"m going to get a second one!

The 1U Compact Sliding Rack Shelf is just what I needed to hold my Mackie MCU pro. Holds it well and it stays firm al the extended point.

For $100, it feels like a shelf made from cardboard.. I will be looking for a better one... "sigh"...

Worked as advertised. Slides in and out smoothly. Used for first time at gig last Friday. I am using it as a pedal tray for my rack unit. Just wish it locked when pushed in.

Not sure I like this design for a rack shelf. Does not lock in the closed position, and the full open lock really isn't a lock, more of a position on the rail that if you go past, the shelf will fall out. The shelf material is MDF covered in a slippery veneer. The frame for the shelf is nice, has back extensions to secure to side of a rack case but, overall, a really bad choice for guitar pedals...

Needed a locking shelf for an inclined rack. Rollers are smooth and lck at full extension is very secure. Excellent packing for shipment. Strong mounts allowed fitment without rear brackets (provided).
