Signature H/S StingRay from Dustin Kensrue (Thrice)
Thrice's brand of spirited rock and hardcore is powered by the frenetic motion and emotive yearnings of frontman Dustin Kensrue. And since 2019, Dustin's muse has been the Ernie Ball Artist Signature in his hands onstage. The Ernie Ball Music Man Dustin Kensrue StingRay begins with the StingRay's form-fitting body and comfort-built maple neck and adds to it Dustin's own artist touches. Most notable in this model are the electronics. The Dustin Kensrue StingRay features a custom-wound humbucker/single pickup complement powered by a 3-way selector and stacked (concentric) tone and volume pots. Together, these afford instant access to blistering crunch or smooth, silken melodic leads. What's more, an out-of-the-way mode selector on the lower horn bypasses all controls and hardwires the guitar for stereo outputs, allowing you to feed a stereo amp or stereo effects. Other subtle touches include an exclusive Dark Satin Tobacco Burst finish and a vintage-tinted maple neck, crowned with a buttery-smooth satin maple fingerboard and 22 long-lasting stainless steel frets. Rounding out the Dustin Kensrue StingRay are a set of Schaller locking tuners, a compensated melamine nut, and EBMM's exclusive 5-bolt sculpted neck joint and easy-access neck heel truss rod adjustment wheel.

Innovative Electronics
Silent H/S pickups
Dustin's signature StingRay comes equipped with custom-wound humbucker and single-coil pickups powered by a 3-way switch and space-conserving concentric volume and tone controls. Together, these deploy truckloads of tonal armaments at a moment's notice. Ernie Ball Music Man's 9V-powered Silent Circuit effectively eliminates the hum associated with traditional single-coils without fundamentally changing your tone. So go ahead and drive that neck pickup under those stage lights — with the Dustin Kensrue StingRay, you don't need to fear 60-cycles buzz again.
Mono/stereo mode switch
A mode switch located on this StingRay's lower horn equips you for standard mono operation — feeding a single TS cable into a single amp — or for taking advantage of your modern pedals' and amplifiers' stereo TRS inputs. In addition to splitting your output, engaging the stereo switch on the Dustin Kensrue StingRay bypasses the switching and volume and tone controls for a beefier, hotter sound. The switch is well out of the way for normal playing, so there's little chance of hitting it accidentally during a live performance.

Modern-meets-classic Design
Classic StingRay design
Despite its modern touches, the Ernie Ball Music Man Dustin Kensrue StingRay will be immediately familiar to fans of the original StingRay guitars of the 1970s. Their offset body and S-style 25.5"-scale-length bolt-on neck will also be welcomed by players who enjoy the snap and attack of this style of construction. The mahogany body mates with custom-wound Dustin Kensrue pickups to deliver a modern heat and vintage cool. The StingRay's vintage-style bent-steel saddles deliver handfuls of musical texturizing.
Modern appointments
The Dustin Kensrue StingRay guitar's asymmetrical neck carve is designed around the natural contours of your hand. It's full and round at the lower strings — more comfortable for full chording — and thins out behind the higher strings for fast and fluid single-note playing. The set of Schaller M6-IND locking tuners keeps you in tune, even under heavy vibrato use. And the compensated melamine nut ensures intonation accuracy across the whole length of the fretboard. Ask any guitarist at Sweetwater — Music Man guitars are gig-ready instruments with long-term reliability. And the Dustin Kensrue StingRay signature is no different.
