Top-shelf PRS with a Vintage Character
The PRS SC 245 Artist Package is inspired by electric guitar pioneer and Paul Reed Smith's mentor Ted McCarty. Vintage fans will love the wonderful tonal balance of a maple top and a lightweight mahogany body, as well as the relaxed feel of the shorter-scale artist-grade flame maple neck, adorned with a Brazilian rosewood fretboard. And a pair of uncovered PRS 57/08 humbuckers provides the SC 245 Artist Package the kind of clarity you'd expect from vintage PAF-style pickups. This Paul Reed Smith SC 245 Artist Package looks, sounds, and plays amazing.

You don't even have to pick up this guitar to know it's something extremely special. Its Artists Package adornments will take your breath away the moment you look at it. A stunningly figured flame maple top caps the warm-sounding 1-piece mahogany back. Your hand will glide down the AAA flame maple neck. And the 245 Artist Package even boasts an authentic Brazilian rosewood fretboard. Believed by many - especially here at Sweetwater - to be the most desirable tonewood, the Brazilian rosewood fretboard will add a harmonic richness to your tone, unmatched by other instruments.
Uncovered PRS 57/08 pickupsThis SC 245 Artist Package features the popular 57/08 humbucking pickups that Paul Reed Smith released in 2008. Designed by Paul Reed Smith himself, the 57/08s were created to deliver the same tonal magic of the first commercially available humbucking pickups. In fact, PRS winds their 57/08 pickups with the same wire and on the same pickup winder as the original designs from the '50s. These uncovered versions are voiced for exceptional clarity and a focused midrange. Plug into any tube amp, and you're primed for an open, airy tone that holds its own in the mix.
Vintage-style playabilityThe SC 245 Artist Package gets its name from its 24.5" scale length. While shorter than many popular vintage guitars, PRS chose this scale length for the warm tonal balance and the slinky, relaxed feel it gives to the guitar's strings. The guitar's neck boasts PRS's Pattern neck profile, which is a modern version of the profiles Paul Reed Smith carved in the '70s and '80s for Carlos Santana, Peter Frampton, and Howard Leese of Heart. It straddles the fine line of filling your hand comfortably while being thin enough for effortless single-note work.
