Versatile and Flexible Onstage and in the Studio

The PreSonus StudioLive RML32AI rackmount digital mixer is a complete mixing and recording package. This compact, 3-rackspace mixer is loaded with 32 fully recallable XMAX Class A preamps (including eight locking XLR/TRS combo inputs), as well as 32 internal channels, 25 buses, three main outputs, and a 52 x 34 FireWire audio interface. Both onstage and in the studio, the StudioLive RML32AI exhibits stellar sound quality, thanks to top-shelf Burr-Brown converters and PreSonus's acclaimed Fat Channel processing. And mixing on the PreSonus StudioLive RML32AI rackmount digital mixer is conveniently performed on your iOS device, Mac, or PC via UC-Surface touch-control software. You can mix from anywhere!

Performance perfection with ample analog and digital channel flexibility

With 32 analog inputs, there's room for everyone in the band to be heard. At Sweetwater, we've found that you can mic a whole drum kit, give everyone a vocal mic, and still have room for keys, guitars, and more, by virtue of 32 great-sounding XMAX mic preamps (including eight locking XLR/TRS combo inputs). Whether you're playing virtual instruments, sending your drummer a click, or adding backing tracks to the mix, the 32 digital channels give you the freedom to add more depth and musical interest to your live shows. Play along with tracks that your band lays down in the studio and give your audience the multitracked-CD feel at every performance. Fat Channel DSP processing places a compressor, limiter, expander/gate, and parametric EQ on every channel. Best of all, everyone in the band has the ability to control their own monitor mix onstage, and the sound engineer is free to focus on how your band sounds out front.

UC-Surface software yields total control with the touch of your finger

Inspired by the best of their StudioLive console's hardware and processing, PreSonus redefines your mixing experience with the RML32AI. Designed to include everything your old front of house rack had, UC-Surface touch-control software is your channel strip, your effects and processing rack, and your faders, all in one intuitive mixing tool. By capitalizing and expanding on the wireless networking power of the StudioLive consoles, PreSonus provides total system control with the touch of a finger, and it works on Mac, PC, and iOS platforms - at the same time!

Active Integration joins software and hardware

Active Integration is PreSonus's approach to creating an ideal mixing environment with tight hardware and software integration, giving you a powerful, scalable system that can grow with your needs. The StudioLive RML32AI Active Integration rackmount digital mixer has the power of 32-bit floating-point DSP, wireless and wired networking, and FireWire connectivity. The StudioLive AI software library gives you access to a suite of free software designed specifically to work with your RML32AI and other StudioLive mixers on Mac, PC, or iOS. So if you think StudioLive is cool now, just wait until you see what innovations PreSonus comes out with next!

Powerful and compact hardware delivers digital mixer power in a small package

PreSonus brings you the mixing power you need in a highly convenient package. In a mere three rack spaces, you get a mixer that provides studio-quality sound wherever you need it. You won't miss your old console - the RML32AI's front panel gives you the essentials every sound engineer needs, including a headphone section and LED meter bridge, and gives you the convenience of having all your XLR connections at hand. You'll have plenty of output flexibility too, thanks to both stereo and mono mix buses, and eight auxiliary outputs for monitors and zone mixing.

Real-time networking features for remote control, recording, and more

The StudioLive RML32AI is packed with networking options. Onboard AVB audio networking cascades with another RM or RML mixer, yielding up to 64 channels. Employ an optional SL-Dante-MIX card, and enjoy 52 x 34 channels of audio that work with hundreds of Dante-enabled products. You can even network your RML32AI with a StudioLive AI-series console and use it as a remote stage box or monitor mixer!

Built-in interface for studio or live recording

PreSonus optimized the RML32AI to be a powerful live mixer. It combines crystal-clear analog I/O, high-quality Burr-Brown AD/DA converters, and powerful digital processing into superior audio for your PA along with a great-sounding recording rig. By simply adding a cable and your favorite DAW, the 52 x 34 FireWire 800 interface gives you up to 96kHz performance for recording live or in the studio. Use the 32 internal channels to add virtual instruments or click tracks from a DAW into your mix, and an additional 25 mix buses help keep your routing options flexible.

Makes life easy

I have used this mixer over 50 times and it has been rock solid at every performance. I love getting in the audience and mixing on my iPad, I feel like an artist with a pallet. But the smaart system on this thing is what is really amazing. To be able to visually see my feedback on each individual speaker and monitor and notch it out immediately before the performance has changed my world. Can switch out bands and different setups in 15 minutes and never have to worry about anything feeding back. The compressors are awesome and easy to use as well as the eq, mixing has never been so fun. It's pure audio freedom.

Solid as a rock and sounds great

I have owned multiple digital mixer's over the years and this one has been incredible to use. I've done easily over 100 shows with it and it has never crashed, or glitched in anyway. The preamps are a big step up from my previous digital mixer which was one of the older studio live models. The iPad app is really great and I'm happy to know that they are about to release android too. Well done Presonus and thanks Sweetwater for recommending this!

PreSonus RML32AI

I have had a long string of digital mixers during the past 20 years including the first 24 channel Roland V7000, the first digital Mackie tt24, 16 channel Yamaha ProMix1, and the 16 channel PreSonus StudioLive 16.4.2 mixers. Each of these offered promising solutions that designed to dramatically reduced the stage foot print and auxiliary equipment. Unfortunately, Roland and Mackie both dropped support for their initial offerings leaving production companies that invested in their initial digital mixing solutions holding the bag with discontinued product lines. Given this experience, we were hesitant to invest in any company's initial digital mixer product offerings. After watching the market for a number of years and much careful consideration, we finally selected the PreSonus RML32AI digital stage box mixer which is PreSonus's second version of this product offering. We did a careful review of similar offerings from Mackie and Behringer but remembered our lesson on buying initial product offerings... hence our decision to invest in the second version of the PreSonue RML32AI digital mixer. They are clearly serious about this product and we look forward to many years of continued support! Frankly, this product is very comprehensive in it's function and requires careful planning to smoothly integrate it into your existing rig. There are many possible configurations and options with this product offering. We elected to replace our heavy 250' snake and FOH mixing console with the simplicity of a wireless iPad controlling the console. This is a dramatic and stunning change to our real time performance work flow which that we highly recommend to anyone considering this approach. It is critical that you dedicate a full day to get the RML32AI configured with a portable wireless router. The PreSonus on line instructional videos were critical and gave us all the information we needed to get the system configured. You will definitely want to download the latest firmware updates and practice restarting the system after shutting down. We also found that it is wise to keep a computer configured with the control software and hardwired directly to the router / mixer in the event the iPad fails. We found that if the iPad loses connection it can be quickly and easily reestablished. With the additional hardwired computer we had flawless operational control through out our gig. It is equally critical to think through the wiring and channel assignments. We took the time to draw a schematic thinking through a series of mini stage snakes that were configured and labelled for quick stage setup. In our case, it took an additional day to configure 4 stage mini snakes for the drums, horns, rhythm and vocals. The PreSonus RML32AI is one of those rare products that keeps surprising you with features that make your sound reinforcement challenges dissolve. Much like our Tesla car, PreSonus continues to enhance and expand the features and functions for this outstanding product at no additional cost! We are hoping PreSonus will consider adding time delay options for each aux mix allowing our sound engineer to align the stage monitor mixes with the FOH mains when performing on a large stage. We rarely need this option but it would be great to have this in our tool box. Conclusion: The PreSonus RML32AI simply rocks... it offers extreme value for the investment. We plan to expand our 32 channels to 64 channels with an additional unit in the near future! I should also mention that Bob Mondock's Sweetwater team offers the best service and support we have experience in more than 2 decades of our operation! Thank you Sweetwater!

Great Quality, Awesome Sound!

I am very happy with the Presonus RM32AI. I have used it a dozens of live sound shows with excellent results! The sound quality is great and the unit is rock solid in the reliability department!! I also have the 16 chanel version for smaller shows (which is just as good-just smaller). The new software (UC Surface) is more intuitive that the older SL remote, giving you more power at your finger tips. I also have the the CS18AI that I use at my larger shows which I recommend as well if you are old school like me and love faders! 😎
