I haven't yet managed to approach the Gilmourish tones of "Comfortably Numb." The prescribed settings seem way, way past the noise level and distortion I would have expected. I'm going to keep it, and I would say it's definitely a powerful effect, but it doesn't seem quite as advertised. I'll keep dialing it back and see what happens...

I'm relatively new to the world of fuzz, and was torn on which Big Muff to get. I play an 8 string guitar for a wide variety of genres, and I noticed that my previous fuzz, the Behringer SF3000, wasn't sounding great on the low end. This pedal was advertised as being clear and well defined on each string, and after playing around with for a few weeks, I can safely say it's exactly that. The thing is a wolf in sheep's clothing, pun intended, because of how powerful it is and how non-threatening it looks, and it makes everything sound so much better. It's like adding cayenne to your cooking, as it'll bump it up a few notches and give it some real flavor.

I own a BigMuff nano, BigMuff with wicker, for me Rams Head sounds the best, seems a little smoother for a fuzz pedal.

I have tried 20+ big muff circuit pedals. This includes Walrus Audio Eons, Way Huge Swollen Pickle MKII, EHX Green Russian, EHX NYC, EHX Op Amp, EQD Hizumitas, and many others. I've owned most of those. None of them could top this Ram's Head reissue. It just has this gnarly bite that sounds so good. Awesome for rhythm and lead tones. I like how even if you turn your guitar's volume knob down, it still retains it's tone.

If you want to play with this pedal in a band setting, just add a Klon-type pedal after it and it will give the mids you need to cut through.

The EHX Ram's Head Big Muff Pi is the most versatile fuzz I've ever used. Tweaking the controls can offer a variety of different tone shapes that can range from heavy fuzz to a more overdriven sound. The most amazing aspect of this particular fuzz is the great string clarity. Even with high sustain and boosted volume, the definition of sound between picked strings is incredible. EHX makes some really fantastic sounding pedals and this one is no exception.

I really liked this big muff mini rams head, the only reason I didn't keep it was it very noisy when on and not playing. Even if no guitar was plugged into it. I also was looking for something that had a little bit of spatty noise on tap, this was very smooth, not a bad thing, just not exactly what I was after.

Volume and Sustain dimed + tone to taste. Enjoy. Best fuzz ever.

I love this pedal gives me the sound my American Pro Strat with single coils doesn't have on it's own.

This is my favorite Big Muff Pi version. The others are probably great too, but after watching a bunch of reviews online, I liked this one most. Maybe because of knowing that Guilmour had one.

All of the Electro-Harmonix Big Muff pedals are good. Everyone simply has a preference and mine is for the Ram's Head. Listen to any demo online and that is exactly what you get in this pedal. I have used a variety of overdrive and distortion pedals, but had not used a fuzz for several years. Added it to my pedal board recently to explore some new sounds. Fantastic sustain. Nice smooth sound without being too "fuzzy". Thickens the tone of single note lines. Music videos were recorded with the guitar lead lines played on Gretsch G5210-P90 guitar thru Big Muff pi fuzz into Fender Super-Sonic amp clean channel.

Best fuzz I've ever used. Great for solos & cutting through the mix. Good string definition. Thick, rich sustain for days. I've found it works best with a low-gain, treble-oriented overdrive in front of it (Wampler Pantheon is my choice). Yes, it does sound like "that" guy, but it works so well with almost any high-gain soloing. So now it sounds like "this" guy (Me).

Awesome pedal! I use this for bass and it gives me the exact gritty tone I want while keeping the low end. I actually prefer this over the bass muff and It's become the only pedal I use.

I don't know how anybody could give this pedal a negative review,or I just got a really good one.Ive had a love hate relationship with Electro Harmonix pedals over the years.Ive had some break,some that were magical ,some that were like what where they thinking.Ive owned three or four Big Muffs in my life and never saw what the fuss was about,always preferred ever other fuzz pedal made in 1960s and 1970s over the Big Muff.I realized recently I needed another fuzz pedal,something different from what I had.I narrowed it down to about five or so pedals two being Big Muffs.Not sure if I made the right decision,was between this one and the Triangle Big Muff.I had a Guild Foxy Lady years ago that was unreal sounding.This Rams Head is straight up that David Gilmour tone,it sounds amazing for single notes,is articulate enough to play fast,shred with.Electro Harmonix have totally upped their game with this pedal,the Triangle and the Opt Amp Big Muff.I now want all three.

I play in a working classic rock band gigging 3 times a month. It stopped working after two gigs with little usage.
Only needed it for a couple of tunes. I'll be returning this unit. Maybe try something else that can give me more options. Highly disappointed.

A Major let down. Sonically limp and lacking the Warm Fuzz of its brothers. A great concept in theory but in reality a disappointment. I had one back in the day and was hopeful that this would at least be in the ballpark. Not.

I'm a 60 yr old hobbyist. Haven't been in a band since high school. Doesn't mean I suck (well, maybe kinda). I played with this thing for hours tonight. So fun. Alone and in conjunction with a bunch of other pedals. Crazy good with the Killer Wail wah. Butted heads with the Jekyll & Hyde. Very cool with the Pipeline. Added cool punch to the MXR phase. The Capistan is pretty much its own thing. All through the Mark V Boogie set real clean. HTH.

It's a lot of fun. It's like an OD that gets super dirty and it has sustain for days. PSA: "A lot" is two words. It is the word "A", being the determiner to signal we are referencing someone or something, placed in front the pronoun "LOT" which refers to a large number or amount. Don't use "alot" because that's nonsense. It say's "I can't spell or I'm too lazy to press SPACE."

Really nice fat fuzz from this pedal. That's all I was looking for. That's what I got.

I'm an average guitarist that sounds a little better with this. So many times you buy something and think it's gonna make you sound like your favorite hero, but you still sound like you. This (along with an eq shaping drive pedal) makes my tele and me sound very Floydish from Obscured by clouds on lower settings to Animals to the Wall and beyond on higher gain. Sounds great with rhythm on its own. With leads, a mild drive/eq boost works wonders. Very happy with the purchase.

What a classic pedal. Made me laugh when I plugged it in. It's like a time machine that can take you back to the '60s and '70s, but still very contemporary for what you want in today's fuzz. So simple and it does it all. Very easy to find the sweet spot for your tone and it has a completely clean bypass. It seems like it should cost more, but the hundred dollar bill is kind of the bonus.

I needed a fuzz box capable of getting a very smooth, sustained tone and this one hits the mark. Tone knob at 10:00 and sustain knob at 2:00 gets me a warm, smooth tone that is still articulated and has good string definition. It may not be the most versatile fuzz out there but it is really great at what it does do. Love it.

This is my Favorite Fuzz. In fact it is the only one I allow on my Main pedal board. Occasionally I swap it out for the Metal Muff. Mike Matthews knows Fuzz ..

Great box... classic tone unlike no other

First let me say my rep, Jacob Ford is great to deal with. He understood what I was looking for and was very helpful and knowledgeable. Okay, yes there are about 30 different versions of big muffs, but this is pretty close to what I remember my original purple one being. Endless smooth singing sustain, great clarity on speedy runs, small footprint and easy to use. Rams Head Pi is a great addition to any small pedalboard fanatics arsenal.

I am really amazed how well this pedal works. This is the best of its kind and I have owned many. It takes up less space than the old ones. It is a winner!

Getting the Pi on Pi-Day (3.14) was pure coincidence, but that's cool. The secret mathematical processes of the universe wanted me to have it I guess... and I'm glad. This thing rocks big time. I've tried a couple of Fuzz pedals and I suppose I never figured out how to properly use them. They didn't do for me what I heard them doing for others and I really wanted that tone in my own toolbox. So I decided to try one of these because I heard they are similar to a full-on fuzz pedal, but not quite as chaotic and moody. Bingo... this is the fuzzy warm slightly out-of-control sound I was looking for. Glad I gave it a try. The TONE knob does a lot, and I like mine above halfway for that perfect kissy-chirp attack on lead lines. The pedal imparts a liquid feel to my guitar that is very comfortable to play.

I got this pedal recently and I have not been disappointed! Works great for leads and for rhythms. The tone knob is completely usable all the way around and this pedal overall sounds great. It is one of the rare few fuzzes that sound great on both humbuckers and single coils. Not overwhelmingly fuzzy (unstable? Big?) which allows it to do Gilmour tones excellently! I can definitely even imagine using this for worship leads at my church!

The electro-harmonix Big Muff has helped shape the sound on a lot of my favorite records from the past almost three decades and I wanted to add one to my collection of effects. There are a few different variations, and it took some time to make up my mind. In the end, I'm glad I opted for this particular model. I really like the tone and sustain I get from it, and I use it frequently. Every guitarist deserves a high-quality fuzz pedal, and in my opinion this one is top-tier. Well-worth the money.

Man, this is SUCH a great pedal... if you need some fuzz with some sustain and want to revel in some 60's rock - this is your jam! Step on it and step up your game!

It's a big muff. It does exactly what you think it does, and it does just that exceedingly well, but not much else. I was going to complain about a small lack of versatility and touch feel, since even at minimum sustain, the signal still distorts significantly. But I discovered that tactful use of the volume knob or a gain pedal can make the fuzz sing in very different ways depending on the magnitude of the input signal. Overall, it's my favorite drive pedal I own. Would buy again.

It is what it is and works as you would expect. This version is a little more articulate and has wonderful single note sustain still tons of classic buzzy saw toothy fuzz if you want a wall of sound to manipulate with modulation effects sounds great with phaser and delay. The only thing I don't love about this pedal is how noisy it is and it gets weird in a digital effects loop with my interface. But that's just the Big Muff being the Big Muff... it's part of the deal/ how the circuit works, and I've been told fuzz pedals in general can have issues in effects loops. So I'm still giving it 5 stars.... the quirks are all just part of the authentic flavor

Yeah this one really performed as I expected it to. I do like it a lot.

I've always wanted one of these, if for no other reason than to play the song Time with the right tonal character. This pedal nails the first three Floyd albums. But now i find myself using because it's a creative tool that sounds great and inspires ideas. Sweetwater is where i get all of my pedals because of their stellar customer service and knowledge.

Brings back old memories,I had the bigger version of the big muff π back in the 70s hooked to an old Univox bass head and 15" speaker cabinet. Needless to say I had a love hate relationship with the neighbors! Today the rams Head lives on smaller but packed with the same crunch as it did back then except with alot smoother sustain, my favorite addition to the board!!

Pedals is great. The sustain knob (fuzz) is very versatile. At 1 o'clock you get a great grinding fuzz tone, and all the way up is smooth searing sustain. I agree with others about it having good note seperation for a fuzz. Great value. Recommend.

This would be THEE ONE! It is better being pushed with a clean treble boost or bright OD with the drive turned way low, but even solo is the perfect blend of sustained fuzz/distortion/LFO hybrid that isn't too buzzy or ice pick gain sqealy. Thick and rich with muscle that can be finessed, while giving that great musical feedback that swells from behind a hung note or chord and can be controlled like drifting around a hairpin corner (especially with a bit of bucket brigade analogue delay). Think early Black Sabbath, All Them Witches, and the heavier side of David Gilmore. SS or tube, high or low watt is sweet either way this'll get it at a reasonable volume. Worth triple this cost!

All business , if you're looking for a cute little boutique pedal , this ain't it . Basic in your face pedal that never quits . Once again Big Muff doesn't disappoint on reintroducing a classic pedal . Highly recommend !

Trying to get that David Gilmore sound and it does the job with my Marshall Origin 20. Who doesn't love a big muff anyhow?

Better than expected!

I picked this up a few weeks ago. I owned 8 fuzzes that were one my board already and they all make some expected "noise" like a hissing sound effects when engaged.

The very day I added this to the signal chain and hit the switch, a noticeable loud hum could be heard. It didn't matter where in the signal chain I placed it... always a hum.

I tried it with both just using the supplied battery and my power supply. No difference. There was a hum either way.

I called tech support today on an unrelated matter but I brought this up. He recommended connecting the guitar to the pedal and pedal to amp, as a stand alone pedal not connected to others. Did that, and hum disappeared.

So, the pedal sounds absolutely wonderful providing you don't have it in the signal chain with other pedals. There may be an impedance mismatch or something. Who knows?

Sorta sucks I can't really use it on my board.

I did comparisons for several days between this Ram's Head reissue BMP and a Triangle reissue BMP. Both are well made, very compact, and competitively priced – EHX did a great job! With my gear (below) the Triangle didn't sound bad but was a bit too rough on the high end, with overly strong bass bordering on wooly. I found the Ram's Head to be smoother and more balanced sounding overall, with a more musical high end, and more balanced and articulate bass, and seemingly less scooped in the mids. I already have a good Ge Fuzz face for touch-sensitive Hendrix-type stuff, and a Ge Fulltone Soul-Bender for everything from Iron Butterfly to Yardbirds to early Zep. But the Ram's Head is unmistakably different than those, with its classic Big Muff sustain and fullness. A great addition to my pedal board.
My testing was done with an American Strat with SSL vintage-like single coils. My amp is a PRRI with an internal 12" American-voiced speaker, as well as several different speaker types available in extension cabs. I disagree with those who say that a Big Muff can't sound good with a clean Fender amp. But it might require adjusting the EQ on the amp, and perhaps using a pedal after the Muff (e.g. Tumnus, Tube Screamer, or EQ pedal), to help tame the high-end buzz and emphasize the midrange. A British-voiced speaker can help also.

So far so good. Added it to my pedal board between distortion and overdrive and it really kicks it up a notch when either of the other two are engaged. Gives it a sweet, dirty banging sound!

If you are looking for that classic Muff sound of David Gilmour then this is your pedal. I've read into the big muffs for sometime now. There is actually a page dedicated to them (bigmuffpage). I'd highly recommend this pedal.

Loud and powerful but musical and sweet on just about any setting with sustain for days. I have a 68 CDR so initially was not sure I liked it but then paired it with a TS9 and good god it is killer. By itself with a mid range amp is probably fine but it needs a mid bump if playing a fender. There is some white noise when you kick it on but I like it and I have a hissy amp as it is. One of the funner pedals I have had, I seem to always want to play with it. I am mostly using it for lead parts but occasionally have to get my stoner metal riffs on. It is heavy and does it all well. Excellent with a wah much to my delight.

These days, there are so many Muff clones out there made by some awesome boutique companies. Sure there are nuances. But dudes, at high volume in a club situation its hard to tell. Some of these companies charge hundreds for the sound. That's fine, go for it. But ladies and gentlemen, this pedal gives you what you would expect. The sound is there. The tone is there. All at a totally affordable price. Between all the knobs on your guitar, amp and pedal board, there is no way that you wouldn't be able to make use of this. I think EHX is gonna make it tough for the others to compete with this little gem. For the purists, use the expense stuff in the studio, use this guy live.

I've seen Ram's Head clones getting big money,so wasn't sure how good this reissue would sound at this price point. Plus I've never been overly fond of BM Pi pedals.

This pedal blew away my expectations.It can get as loud as you need. It also plays well with both my Gibson SGJ and my Classic Vibe 50's Telecaster. Stack it with other dirt boxes and it will go from heavenly to hellishly nasty dirt. It also works well with my Fender 65 DRRI.

You will not be disappointed!

Loving the Ram's Head Big Muff. Nice when I crank the AC-15 up with the Telecaster. Seems to be more balanced eq wise than other EHX muff models. Goes from buttery thick and smooth to that J. Mascis thunder and lightning.

Just recently purchased the EHX Rams Head Reissue and I'm sold! For the price it's a hard pedal to beat. Whether you're looking for those gilmour tones or just want a pedal that can rip through the mix, especially when coupled with a boost, this is the one you want.

I hope not. I've been a fan since a buddy let me use his second hand Big Muff π for some 4-track recording a little over 30 years ago. Finding one in the Midwest of the late 1980s was difficult, because every alt-rocker from Minneapolis and Detroit to Louisville and Nashville were snatching them up. After moving to the East Coast, "Grunge" hit and vintage pedal shops were left Tube Screamers and ProCo Rats (both very good pedals in their own right). I wouldn't find my own until the mid-1990s when I found a new Sovtek Big Muff π and then a vintage Big Muff π Deluxe (with compression). I've been snatching up different Muffs since then. I'm not a very good guitarist (not my main axe, but that doesn't stop me). The Big Muff π helps me sound awesome with its sustain and my bad case of "Black Sabbath syndrome."
So what is different between the "Ram's Head" and some of the other Muffs. It has greater sustain than the Sovtek in my opinion, but so do the others. It's closest siblings are the "Triangle", orange "OpAmp" (with the tone control engaged), and the standard Big Muff π. So far, it seems to handle the highs the best. The difference between the "Ram's Head" and the "Triangle" is just enough to make me consider layering the two or layer on the Sovtek that I tend to use with my bass.
In summary, I gave five stars because I love Muffs and this one's no exception.

When it comes to Big Muffs, I always begin with "what can I say?" This thing sounds amazing. Compared to the Triangle Big Muff, the Ram's Head has less low end, a bit more mid-range, and a sharper highs. Truth be told, I prefer the Triangle Big Muff for it's smoother, warmer tone that seems to have more note for note clarity than the Ram's Head; but the Ram's Head is top notch in its own right. I love them both; but the Ram's Head seems to have a stronger following. You can't go wrong with either.

This new/old Big Muff is quite allot of fun. I new addition to my rig and a little smaller than the old ones I used to use. I am impressed. Great price... Rams Head welcome back.

It was either this or the Green Russian ... I think I'll end up with both!

I spent awhile experimenting with different settings on this pedal and also moving it between and betwixt different pedals. The pedal responds differently to many of those changes. It took time but I got the tone where I wanted it and used it at a gig this past Saturday night. My band mates loved the new pedal sound and several people in the crowd told me during the break what a great guitarist I was (I am decent but no way I would call myself great). To be perfectly honest, I think those folks from the crowd were reacting to the tone from this pedal rather than anything special and new I was doing with my playing. ...its an easy investment that puts smiles on lots of people's faces.

Used it for the first time at a gig Sat.2-8-20.......at home, by itself or on my main pedalboard, it sounded massive and loud thru either Mesa-Boogie amps that I have{ 20 WATT Subway Rocket 1x10 combo----45 watt 1x12 Nomad combo}.....on stage however,with the volume of the Muff set to match the other drive pedals on my board{ Xotic SL Drive--Lovepedal Zendrive}...when I turned it on, my sound was lost in the mix on stage.....tried turning up the volume of the Muff, and turning the sustain down{ had it at 12:00} it wasn't much better......I've had other Muff's, and this Ram's Head didn't seem as "scooped" in the midrange as the others......but so far it doesn't punch thru the way my other drive pedals do.....will have to keep working with the controls to see it I can make it work with my rig........

This is my first fuzz pedal and I dig it. Most of the demo videos floating around do the pedal justice. Though sometimes I wish I would have gotten the Triangle model because I think I would have liked the scooped mids more - because the Ram's Head is pretty thick in the mids - however the Ram's Head still sounds fantastic, and I can still dial in sounds that I like, so I have no intention of returning the Ram's Head. When using the Ram's Head for leads, so far my favorite settings are to have the tone around 1-2 o'clock, and the sustain around 2-3 o'clock (and then adjust volume accordingly). Adds some smoothness and grit to the tones; that extra vibe that only a fuzz pedal can add. Or I can dail up the tone and sustain for more punch. I'm not even sure I've tried maxing out the tone and sustain knobs, though I'm sure it would be the sonic equivalent of Cyborg Superman punching a hole through the fabric of space-time itself. Oh, and by the way, this pedal is LOUD. When I first tried the pedal out I had my guitar/amp set up to normal living room volumes, had the pedal volume set to 12 o'clock, and my overall volume basically doubled, if not tripled. Luckily I haven't noticed any decrease in quality of tone if I turn the volume knob down, which is nice, because when I'm playing at night while my neighbors sleep, I usually don't have the fuzz's volume any higher than 8 o'clock, and it still sounds good. Of course if you really want to rip you'll have to turn it all up, but I'm just saying that you can use it on lower volumes and not have to worry about it losing its soul in the process.

To conclude: yes, I recommend this pedal if you're looking for good fuzz tones. If you like punchy mids then you'll dig the Ram's Head. If you like scooped mids, I'd recommend checking out the Triangle. From what I gather, all of these Big Muff reiusses seem quality; they just provide slightly different flavors depending on what sonic direction you're leaning in.

I've been trying to find the right Big Muff circuit for a while now, and I've owned the big NYC Big Muff Pi, Big Muff w/ Tone Wicker, Green Russian, and Op-amp reissues. I've also owned some boutique versions of the "civil war" and Green Russian muff. My current musical escapades have me running through an Orange OR15 and Orange 1x12 cab, and a guitar with high output P-90s. EVERY other Muff I've used with this amp has a tendency to turn to mud unless the Tone is cranked up, and forget about stacking them with the Orange's amp distortion. Enter the Ram's Head. I was expecting more of the same but with all the talk about string separation for chords, I figured it'd be worth a shot with this very warm amp. The first chord dripped with harmonics and saturation, and still retained the string separation I wanted. The result was a big, brawny doom tone reminiscent of Electric Wizard. I had to have it.

Its been a couple weeks now since it came home with me. I've had a chance to experiment with lower gain settings, and yes, if you're a Gilmour-head, that tone is definitely there, even with a guitar that is very much not a Strat. The Tone sweep is far more usable, in my opinion, than on any other Muff I've tried. It can be a wool blanket, and it can be an ice pick. The same is noticeable in the Sustain control. Most Muffs, again in my opinion, sound best with the Sustain cranked and left there. This actually allows you to dial in low gain tones with that Big Muff vibe, and this works especially well when cranking the amp's preamp gain up to around 1 or 2 o'clock. It layers the scooped Big Muff vibe on top of the amp's saturation and opens up some intense sonic horizons. I am able to get tones reminiscent of drone gods Sunn O))) and back it off to play the solos from Comfortably Numb.

Using the Ram's Head through a cleanish amp sounds amazing with a booster or OD in front, and in my case, the EQD Tone Job behind to customize the frequency content. EQ after fuzz can really open new doors for you. That being said, a boost or OD with some EQ will give you the most bang, but simple boosters like the LPB-1 sound good too.

Obviously, if you like doom/sludge/stoner/drone metal, this should be on your shortlist. If you like boat shoes and Pink Floyd, it'll do that too. As a wrap up, its an amazing sounding versatile fuzz that really shines in dark and fuzzy kinds of metal, especially when boosted in front of it. Gotta ram those manparts.

I've always had mixed feeling about fuzz pedals but this one is a keeper. Like any fuzz, the Ram's Head can get away from you if used without an appreciation for its capabilities. This one offers the full spectrum so its best to spent time experimenting with it.

I still have my Elecro Harmonix pedals that I purchased back in the '70's So....I can report to you that the "consistancy" of components, assembly, sound and quality have improved conciderably.
Back in those days, (due to component inconsistancies) you were rolling the dice on what you got.
I purchased the Reissue "Triangle" earlier in the year and got the recently released "Ram's Head".
The "Triangle" is MID-Scooped with more LOW-End.
The "Ram's Head" has Less LOW-End, good chord and note articulation and a ton of gain.
So, if I had to choose just one of these two FUZZ Pedals, for both giging and studio recording, it would be the "Ram's Head".
- My AMP, (Reeves Custom 50) is clean with a lot of headroom.
- I put the Big Muffs after the BK Butler, Tube Driver and Colorsound Boost on my pedal board.

I have several fuzz pedals from 1977-2018, but nothing like this. I've put to bed my antiquated fuzz pedals and sold the rest. This EH Big Muff Pi pedal destroys every other such pedal I've used in 40+ years. The sustain knob adds the frequencies missing from older such pedals. It's not an overdrive or distortion effects pedal - let' make this clear - but as a fuzz pedal, it's the only one you will ever need. Think Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Steppenwolf, Uriah Heep, Joe Cocker Band, and Cream, and you'll know what I mean.

The long-awaited Big Muff Ram's Head re-issue sounded like the missing component in my tone. Impressive response and string articulation. It doesn't add too much low end as does of the other Muffs out there do. I'm running mine with a Catalinbread boost (the Sabbath clone one), a Mistress, a compressor, and Catalinbread Echorec in a small room setting (for now), and it is fantastic. I have a small collection of Muffs (a new addiction apparently), and I've long been a fan of Pink Floyd. Using that as a start point to get into what I hear in my brain, the Ram's Head makes it easy. By spending a few hours in an afternoon, anyone should be able to dial in a tone that they love by turning the knobs and experimenting. It did not take me long at all. I highly recommend this Muff as the best of the recent re-issues (I have them all).

Open new doors of 60's, 70's and more tones with Rams Head. You will not be disappointed. Tried it on Les Paul Studio w/humbuckers, SG w/p90's, ES-335 w/MHS II Humbuckers, Fender Hot Rodded Fat Strat w/pearly gates. Fender 59 American classic. Great results in my opinion. You can cover a lot of ground with this peddle. Definitely belongs on your peddleboard.

As advertised this thing has great string definition, and a ton of clarity. With one caveat. It's still a fuzz pedal. And I'm just not really a fuzz guy. I thought maybe this was going to be the fuzz for me, but I'm really on the wall about keeping it. It's an amazing pedal in a lot of ways, and combined with the humbucker in my hss strat, and my wah, this thing creates an amazing lead tone that can only be described as liquid fire. The pedals reaction to the wah is is what really makes me want to keep it, but if you aren't already a fuzz fan, I'm not sure it's going to sell you, but it's a good pedal. Bit noisy, like fuzz tends to be, but still all in all a great pedal. I will try to capture some sound samples with my phone and post them if possible. Not sure the sound quality will be worth anything, but if it is. I'll post it.

Russian, OP Amp, Traingle and now this...and this one destroys all the others .. for 'that sound' you always wanted. I lined them all up and tested one by one and the Ram is head and shoulders above the rest!!! I might mention that your AMP plays a big deal in obtaining the sound you're after from a big muff. Class A Tube. Enjoy everyone...they made what we wanted and wished for and here it us.

I have never been a fan of fuzz pedals. But, this one has changed my mind! I am very impressed with this pedal and this one will remain on my board. And the price point can’t be beat. The only thing that I was disappointed in was that it didn’t come with a sticker to put on my guitar case ;-)

If your wondering which big muff reissue to get , this is the one! It’s very warm and articulate. It I had to describe it in one word it would be balanced...
little smoother then the others. Sound good through my Vox and orange amps. And you can definitely get the Gilmour sounds all over the animals album very easily. I’m Very happy with this purchase.

classic Rams head big muff tones. I have never been fortunate enough to play an original but I have owned various boutique clones of this fuzz and this one truly surpasses them all. EHX really must have used their original design for this circuit because it sounds exactly like the rams head used on many Pink Floyd albums as well as Dinosaur Jr. albums. It’s got more of a mid scooped character so if you’re looking for something with lots of mids, this isn’t for you. If you want the most accurate classic rams head tones then look no further!
