30 Frets, No Waiting
The Ibanez RG550XH solidbody electric guitar gives you 30 jumbo frets to shred with, and a deep gorge of a lower cutaway provides access to all of them. Two pickups and 5-way switching deliver a broad palette of tone, from chimey cleans to ornery snarl, while an Edge Zero II bridge serves up the vibe. As dictated by its plethora of notes, this axe sports rad visuals - the lower horn might even double as a sling blade if things get rough after a show. Trust us, you've never experienced a guitar quite like the Ibanez RG550XH.
Ibanez RG550XH Solidbody Electric Guitar at a Glance:- Edge Zero II tremolo bridge gives you solid performance and stability
- Blazing fast Wizard III-XH neck
- All the tones of a 3-pickup guitar
The RG550XH's Edge Zero II bridge with Zero Point System was designed by Ibanez to give you the fast tremolo response and snap you need to pull off sharp bends and flutters. The extreme stability of this knife-edge-style trem's stud lock function is also one of the many reasons it's a favorite among many of today's top shredders. The ZPS3Fe adjustment dial lets you change the spring tension of your trem in seconds for that perfect feel. If you're looking for a guitar that can stand up to long playing sessions without losing its tuning, you're going to love the RG550XH!
Blazing fast Wizard III-XH neckOne of Ibanez's fastest necks to date, the 3-piece maple Wizard III-XH neck on the RG550XH is an absolute pleasure to play. This slim and super-comfortable neck lets you pull off lightning-fast runs and arpeggios with ease, but still gives you the substance you need for fretting chords when you need to. From the first time you put your hands on the RG550XH Wizard III-XH neck, you'll know you've got a guitar that was built with performance in mind. Sweetwater knows a dyed-in-the-wool shred guitar when we see one, and the Ibanez RG550XH hits the nail on the head.
All the tones of a 3-pickup guitarEven though the Ibanez RG550XH only sports two pickups, it still has the tone and functionality of a standard HSH guitar. The ceramic INF bridge humbucker is a brilliant lead pickup: warm, yet snarling with an enhanced midrange output when you push it. A high-output single-coil in the middle serves up traditional spank 'n' sparkle on its own, and plays nice with the bridge humbucker. A battery-powered neck pickup simulator gives you the traditional tones of the neck humbucker. Bottom line? While the Ibanez RG550XH has an extended fretboard and seems to be missing a pickup, it still has all the sounds you know and love from the RG series of guitars.
