GUITAR player
I resumed playing guitar after 25 years absence
. This tuner is a tremendous tool.
The Best portable tuner out there
Totally Accurate! Ive used many tuners out there (Korg, Snark etc.) It is by far the most accurate & quicker than all the rest & it shuts itself off after use which extends battery life.
Super useful little clip-on tuner
Not As Accurate As A Peterson StroboClip HD
Tested the PolyTune against my 3 Peterson Stomps and StroboClip HD.
Sweeteners were Not used with the Peterson so the tuning was actual and not colored in any way.
Tested the PolyTune and StroboClip HD with the Peterson Stomp together.
PolyTune was always a little off compared to the Peterson units.
PolyTune clip is not very strong and the unit tends to move a bit when I tune my bass E string.
If you have a few extra bucks pick up the Peterson StroboClip HD instead, you wont be sorry.
Excellence achieved!
Great size and visibility highlight this clip-on polyphonic tuner!
TC Electronic PolyTune Clip Black Clip-on Polyphonic Tuner
So simple. Its there when I need it for electric or acoustic guitars.
It's great as is and could only be improved if the display would swivel. It does change orientation so you don't have to read upside down.
I would buy it again.
Rick
Thanks Sweetwater!
TC Poly Clip
Works well, bright, easy to read display.
The only thing I dislike is that when it is first turned on to tune up,
it shuts off within 2 minutes even while still tuning which can be a pain.
Other than that I like it
I used to love these tuners...
But I have repaired more dings and dents in headstock wood. The springs are too strong and the pads are too hard. I will not use them anymore. I can always tell on a guitar in my shop where the owner has a TC Poly clip-on just by looking at the headstock.
Quick, bright and accurate
I have a UniTune and upgraded to the PolyTune to see if there is a $ or so difference. It appears there is, especially when playing outdoors in the sun! I appreciate that it turns itself off and responds immediately and correctly. Getting in really good tuning has never been easier or faster for me.
TC PolyTune cli[p on tuner
Great product!!
TC Electronic
This is the best tuner in my opinion, and the best is
Sweetwater for delivering my tuner, I bought the five bundle to put on al my guitars. Thanks Mike Montero for your help….
Great tuner
I like the adjustability, low profile, tuning accuracy, and the display is easy to read. Time will tell how durable the clip is, but it seems pretty solid.
Great choice for the money
I really like this tuner. Easy to use and accurate.
TC ELECTRONICS CLIP ON TUNER
I love this tuner. They're built like tanks. I got tired of Snark clip on tuners breaking on me, since the bodies of their tuners are built very poorly. I no longer have that problem with this TC Electronics Clip On Tuner. Thanks Sweetwater.
Disappointed
I'm not a fan. The screen will not stay in any position. Tightening attempts fail. Turns off pretty quick even after fresh battery.
Great Clip On Tuner
Accurate, easy to use and reasonably priced.
Great tuner - no low battery warning
I have nothing but good things to say about this tuner, except for the fact that there is no indicator that the battery is getting low. This is a problem because I just had my tuner die on stage. I had to deduct a full star for that.
Best Small Tuner
Thus tuner is easy to use and very clear. Best small tuner I have used and will probably buy another.
Works great, and glad I got it from Sweetwater
I like it, it seems very accurate and it's easy to use. The one I received looked like it was used as a demo unit, and Sweetwater replaced it while allowing me to keep the first one. I mean that was unnecessary, but appreciated.
For recording makes a difference
For recording, the TC polytunner, gives you that edge of confidence that in a studio session your really in tune so one can proceed with confidence. Better then all the other clip on tuners for studio work!
TC Electronic tuner
Nice tuner. Very precise.
Surprisingly Accurate and Easy To Use
I use this on all my basses, and it is a replacement for my Peterson StroboClip HD because I cracked the screen. I chose this model because it has a rotary tuner mode and the price. Easily picks up the low E string, which my Peterson actually had issues with, and it is pretty accurate.
Only downsides are that it does take a bit of time to start (not a showstopper for me) and you can only move the display forward or backwards; how you physical attach the tuner to your headstock determines the tilt. The Peterson allowed for multiple angles, distance from the headstock, and gave me more flexibility on where I can place the tuner.
All-in-all, great tuner for the price.
Amazing Tuner
Works great. What they have managed to pack into this small size is amazing.
Great Tuner!
After my Snark tuner snapped spontaneously, I decided that I was going to buy a tuner with a metal clip. I've been very happy with this one! It's very accurate and easy to read. Would definitely buy this one again.
Great Clip-On Tuner
This is my second Polytune clip-on tuner. They are very easy to use, accurate, durable, solid and fast. And complete with the great TC Electronic quality tops this one off. The metal housing on these is so much better than the plastic housing on the other clip-ons. I'm not a touring musician but I gotta believe this would be a reliable roadworthy tuner to reduce clutter and save valuable space in your pedal board. Just be careful, these are small enough to fit easily into one's pocket. Don't get it ripped off!
Great tool
This helps keep my instrument in tune
Disappointing - will buy a different brand in the future
I bought two of these noir tuners as a bundle for around my studio. Figured it would be a long-term investment since my TC pedals have been great, but both of them are acting up after only a couple years. The display flickers and one or the other often won't power on. I don't need anything around here that I have to waste time fiddling with - certainly not for a $ tuner. I found an old D'Addario tuner in a case I've been using instead because it's reliable and has a better display.
Nice tuner
Went from an old snark to this and it seems way more accurate. It's very easy to read in light or dark. I don't like that it turns off to quickly but that's minor.
Wet nice clip on tuner
I have an old clip on that just don't seem accurate anymore so I purchased this one. Polytune always has head products and this is no exception. Bright, accurate and well made.
Polytune Clip
Same fine service from Sweetwater as usual. The Polytune did not fulfill my needs. I have had a few Snarks,I have a Boss clip on and now the Polytune. The Polytune seems to be the sturdiest. My gripe with all of them is the screen is difficult or impossible to see in bright light. The person I talked to at Sweetwater said the Polytune is more visible but it is likely the worst in my opinion. Not blaming Sweetwater. Will likely go back to a Peterson or a quality needle tuner. Using all three tuners at once shows they all work the same as far as accuracy is concerned. All of them hit the center in tune position at the same time.
Best tuner I’ve ever used
WOW, no more using glasses to tune my guitars! Very bright display and easy to read, even in bright daylight! Thanks for recommending this beauty! Folds flat and is very inconspicuous on stage! Love it!
Great clip on
Accurate, easy to read, and sleek looking.
Decent tuner
Bought it for easy clip on tuning. Very accurate.. plenty of options. It does shut off by itself… sometimes right in the middle of tuning. That can be a little annoying.
Eats up batteries
This is an OK tuner but if you use the strobe mode it eats the battery up really fast so expect to replace the battery once a week at best.
TC ELECTRIC POLYTUNE GUITAR TUNER
Great tuner ! Always accurate & easy to use. The best tuner I have had/ seen without breaking the bank ! Very affordable!
Polytune Clip
I like these tuners. This is my second one so I have one for each guitar. The tuner has a very quick response time. Like any other clip on tuner is does respond to harmonics though. Really, the only fault with this tuner is there isn't a serial number on it - meaning you can't register it for warranty.
My Third TC PolyTune
I love these tuners. I have the original, PT2, and now this clip-on for my luthier work. Highly recommended. So feature rich. Strobe mode? Check. Tune all at once? Check.
Very Accurate
Bought this tuner to replace another clip-on of which I own 2. This seems far more accurate than the other popular brand that I own!
Fast and accurate
Even better than my Polytune 3 tuner pedal! Great for acoustic guitars. I can tune up my 12 string in a jiffy, even when I keep it in a weird tuning, with the polytune features.
TC Polytune Polyphonic headstock tuner
I've been using Snark headstock tuners for years, and always felt that they were not precise enough. Strings would sound a bit out of tune, but they would read out as in tune. The TC tuner seems far more accurate, and allows you to correct for subtle changes in tuning. It's easy to read, even outdoors. The clip design seems tighter than Snarks, which sometimes wouldn't last long often because of a loosened fit. Whether or not the new TC lasts longer than the Snarks, its still a superior product.
TC tuner - Sweetwater model
I should start by saying I am a decades long Peterson Tuner advocate, have used them without any issues forever.
I did have a TC tuner for a mandolin and thought it was very good. I never liked the white case, not a functional issue of course. When Sweetwater offered the TC tuner in black, I had to have one. It is an excellent tuner.
Best tuner I’ve used
Great tuner worth the $
good stuff
two thumbs up
This thing is tinnnnyyyyy...
I wasn't expecting it to be this compact. And there is definitely a learning curve for new users. But, this is definitely the best on the market. It's dependable and right on every time.
Excellent tuner
Excellent tuner- unlike most tuners, this poly tune LED display is easy see. Very accurate - Tunes to a cent. Accuracy comparable to Peterson strobe clip. Easy to use and very accurate.Recommend!!
You get what you pay for.
This was more expensive than previous clip-on tuners I've purchased but it is by far the best.
Very happy with this tuner. You get what you pay for, and I highly recommend this unit.
i finally found a tuner i really like
The TC Polytune is accurate, easy to read, and works wonderfully on all of my guitars and basses, electric or acoustic. I plan to replace all of my "other" clip-on tuners with the TC Polytune
Pretty good
It works OK, but I think I like my old D'addario better.
If accuracy is your goal, this is your tuner
I tossed my snarks after trying this tuner. The snark would tell me a string is in tune over quite a wide frequency range and my guitar would often sound a little sour after tuning. The strobe mode of the TC is incredibly accurate...As Joe Piscopo would say, it's "...dead on, balls accurate". Add a great display, quick readouts and polyphonic tuning and it's the best tuner I've ever used. I've got three. I've also got a couple D'addario sound hole tuners, which I use for quick and dirty tunings when practicing. They are pretty convenient, but like the snarks, they aren't as accurate as the TC.
Works great!
Got this as a stocking stuffer for a relative. He was very happy. Thanks to Sweerwater but a dpecial shout out to Dave Snow for his continual great service!
Great Tuner
This is a fantastic tuner. I lost my first one so ended up ordering 2 more because I like it so much. I find it very helpful to tune each string and then strum across all strings just to double check that they are all correct.
"God-Like" Tuner
Excellent tuners
I use poly tune units both on my acoustics and my pedal board. Best tuners I have ever used for 12 strings, both acoustic and electric. I have off-loaded all other tuners for my poly-tune units. Clip on and board mounted, they are my personal choice for tuners.
Great tuner
Accurate tuner that works great with lower tunings
Accurate, bright tuner
I've used this tuner for a few months and really like it, by far my favorite that I've ever used. It's more expensive, but for me the value is there. One key feature is that the display is very bright, still possible to read in direct sunlight and very bright conditions. The polytune feature is great too. Highly recommended.
TC Electronics Poly Tuner
The TC electronics poly tuner is the best in class
tuner for bass and guitar. It's accurate and extremely
easy to use live and in the studio.
How did I live without this
I've been playing since the mid 1990s, and always tuned to a phone app, to ear, or with the onboard tuner from a Multifunction Pedal. This little tuner made me realize how silly any of those other methods are. Get one of these, if not two! I'm so glad I did!
Very accurate and practical clip on tuner
The polyphonic feature is practical to quickly see which string needs work, and the strobe tuner makes the tuning super accurate while being very easy to use. It's quite small so it's relatively easy to clip on the headstock. The only gripe I have with it is that the buttons are hard to press, including the on/off one, but that's a minor problem and I'll get used to it. So far the best clip on tuner I've found.
Accurate tuner
This is a very accurate tuner and is pretty sleek.
Fits nicely on headstock and you can tune quickly and quietly while plugged in.
I like the black color because my guitar is black.
Works well when performing on stage.
Poly Tune Tuner 5 Stars
this is the simplest, most accurate tuner I've ever used and with 3 tuning modes. *****
Why didn't I order this sooner?
I've relied on a Polytune pedal on my electric-guitar pedalboard for years. Recently I played a couple of acoustic sessions using my trusty old S---- headstock tuner and it just felt tedious tuning one string at a time. I ordered a Polytune clip-on and my man Dave Snow got it to me soonest. It's a great tuner. Clips tighter and displays brighter than the S----. Folds down smaller, very unobtrusive. Works just like the pedal: strum all to test all six then focus on any single string that needs tweaking. The display switches smoothly from multi-string to single. It's a little weird to strum all six strings open with no muting option, but the Polytune is sensitive enough to pick up the strings at low volume.
Great Product!
Easy to use and accurate!
Very easy to read and use
Great tuner.,,so much easier to tune my guitar. I like the poly view of all the strings
Was good.
I had one for a few years. The plastic housing is cheap and eventually broke. Just couldn't hold itself together.
Toss the Snarks
These are so much better than the old Snarks I used to buy, which were constantly breaking and/or running out of battery. The PolyTune option is a huge time saver while performing, so you know where the tuning issue is immediately without playing individual strings. These are awesome, and much more solid than the others.
Fantastic clip on for 5 string bass
Had trouble with accuracy tuning my B string on other clip-on tuners, but this handles it no problem.
Exceptional Tuner
I have been playing guitar recreationally since 1964 qnd therefore have relied on a number of different tuners during that time. I currently play a Ventura 12 string I purchased in 1970. This tuner is more accurate than any other tuner I've ever used and is a great help in keeping the 12 strings in tune.
Don't be fooled by the simple and non flashy design. This tuner is exceptional.
T.C. should be at the head of every neck
This is my 2nd polytune. The first served me without trouble for many years until I recently lost it. I decided to pre-order one because they were on back order. Soon after Joey Marano contacted me with the information that I may have to wait 3 months for my tuner to arrive. I was then prepared for the long wait - only to be pleasantly surprised to find it in my mailbox after only one month! You can't beat that customer service.-
Tuner
I am just getting started with this tuner, but so far, I'm very pleased with it.
Small, easy to store, bright, easy to understand.
Be.Tuned!
Can't say enough about this tuner! Well worth the spend. Accurate and to be able to strum all strings at once to see which are out of tune - is bonus!
Great simple to understand tuner
I have a picky ear and often get caught up in trying to retune mid practice because something sounds "just a bit off". (I think it's more of a way to avoid actually practicing…) Hitting notes just a bit out of tune really bothers me, though, but I have a hard time finding the perfect sound when tuning.
I splurged on the PolyTune clip hoping it would ease my mind (and ear) and let me get back to focusing on actually practicing…. It worked! The tuner is very precise and the subtlety of tuning to get the dots to actually match up has eased my mind and allows me to get back to what matters in practice - playing the guitar, not tuning it.
Best Tuner Ever
Awesome works like a charm.......
Great tuner! The polytuning isn't that useful though
I own the Unitune version of this, and I love it. Fast, accurate, looks good, easy to hide from audience view, strong clip. I replaced the boss tuner on my pedal board with the Unitune I like it so much. All of that also applies to the PolyTune. But the thing that makes the Polytune unique doesn't actually work that well for me. Maybe its my particular guitar and headstock, but the results of the uni and ploy modes don't consistently match up. For example, if I tune up each string in uni/mono mode, then strum all 6 strings, the poly mode shows that some of the strings are out of tune. Which tells me I can't really trust the poly mode. So i just use it in mono/uni mode now. In the end I could have just bought another Unitune.
Easy to Use and Accurate Clip-on Guitar tuner
This is my 3rd clip-on tuner and by far my favorite! It is easy to use, accurate and the polytune feature is better than expected. Checking multiple strings for being it tune seemed far-fetched to me initially but now it is something I use regularly. Tuning has never been easier, highly recommended!
This is my 3rd one!
It's my third one because I love them and keep giving them away. My daughter has one for her Taylor and now my wife has this one which she uses both acoustic and electric. Mine I keep upstairs with the acoustics, I also have the polyphonic stomp version on my pedalboard. I love TC tuners.
The best clip-on tuner
There are no 5-star clip-on tuners, but this one is the best. I have 3 of them. My only problem with it is that it shuts off after a non-configurable 5-minute timeout. I understand why they do that, but shouldn't I be the one who decides how often the battery needs to be replaced? No? OK then.
Really cool tuner!
Arrived in perfect condition and works great!
I love the fine resolution of LED's moving back and forth and I also love the features.
The best clip on tuner out there!
This is more accurate and easier to use than all the other clip on tuners.
Excellent tuner
Excellent tuner: compact, very easy to read, accurate, easy to operate, easy to adjust reading angle while on headstock, secure clamp yet coated to protect your headstock.
Just get one. Now.
I loved this little thing from the minute I turned it on. Strum all six strings (even on electric, without volume) and immediately see it's that pesky 'x' string that's a little off. Went from 'ugh, have to tune' to DARING the guitar to go out of tune. Wish I'd bought two, one for the practice room and another for the acoustic in the living room. If you're on the fence just get one. You'll be glad you did.
It works....BUT!
This tuner works fine (As a tuner) But it keeps shutting off while in use!
Great tuner
Very useful, handy and accurate tuner, I really like it!
TC Electronic PolyTune Clip-on Polyphonic Tuner
As I am mainly a ukulele player, this tuner is much more than I need. I'm mostly using it in Unitune mode. However, with this tuner's ease of reaching a precise tuning, and the resultant (and previously unheard) joyously harmonious sounds, I'll gladly recommend these tuners. Better than any other I've tried. Works fine with ukes and guitars, and it doesn't care if the body is solid or hollow.
For me, the UniTune model would have worked just fine, so I'd go that way if I were to buy another. Some folks might actually need the Poly features though.... Think about it before you choose.
Best yet ??
This is my new favorite guitar tuner. Extremely accurate, easy to use, 3 options, clear and precise. A HUGE upgrade over the "snark".
Love this tuner
I have bought a few of these turners and they work great. Nice and small so we can leave attached to guitars and basses, polyphonic for simple tuning, bright screen, great battery life. I will be sticking with these tuners for a long time.
Polytune is the best clip-on guitar tuner!
My first impression is the sleek rectangular shape, not too big or heavy. The display is bright and clear, not constantly moving, so you know when you hit your mark. I checked the accuracy with my strobe tuner and it's either on the money or so close you can't tell. The polythene is a little more pricey at $49, but its worth it to me. I have snarks that were cheaper and pretty accurate, but I've had a couple with issues- one fell apart. The polythene is just lighter, less noticeable, better built and provides a clearer, more accurate tune everything. Worth every dollar!
Accurate, Stable, Durable, but Some Clunkiness
Don’t buy a snark
These cost a bit more than the snark and their cheap clones but they are worth the money.
Great tuner!!
Bulletproof, precise and versatile!!
And a Great stocking stuffer for the holidays!!
polytune tuner
Very precise. I use it everyday on different guitars It has a very bright and easy to use screen
Tiny Tuner, Huge Impression
Seriously impressed with this tuner. Smaller than I thought, and every tuning mode available is ridiculously accurate. I've had zero issues clipping this tuner onto the limited headstock space of my Wolfgang Standard, so if it clips, it tunes! Folds out to the perfect angle, and that super-bright LED display is hard to miss no matter what kind of lighting I'm playing in. 100% happy with this tuner. You will be too.
PolyTune Tuner
I have several different clip-on tuners. This TC Electronic PolyTune Tuner isn't any better than the tuners I have that cost a lot less money.
Awesome tuner
I like that you can strum all strings at once when tuning.
Super fast and easy to read
The only "problem" is that it is small and I already lost one.
I got a second and an getting another as a backup.
I also have the polytune 3 which is fantastic - but this is fine too and it is easy to have on the headstock.
The best of its kind
I like that I can clip this and read it from the front of the headstock or the back of the headstock. It works surprisingly well on a "hot" stage. I've tried a lot of similar clip-on tuners over the years and this is the first one I liked and found to be fairly dependable/accurate.
Fantastic tuner!
I have a buddy who for years tried to get me to buy a Poly Tune tuner pedal but I just couldn't see paying nearly $ for a tuner pedal. Enter the Poly Tune Clip - this thing is super accurate and I love being able to strum all 6 strings and tune the entire guitar at once and then without pushing any buttons, be able to fine tune each string individually. I love the sleek black color and the LED screen is very bright and easy to read. This thing comes out of the box ready to use. Highly recommend to anyone who's looking to upgrade their guitar tuner.
Great tuner
Light convenient and accurate.
Good tuner
Seems to work well. Buttons are a bit small but a good tuner. It would be better if it did open and other tunings but it a small unit.
Polytune Clip- Great
Had been using a cheaper-brand clip-on tuner and found that just wasn't precise - far too much was considered to be "in tune" and you could hear the sour tones.
Read great reviews of the Polytune clip. Purchased the black version.
Very quick and accurate. Have been using the strobe mode and have no complaints. Was even able to dial in the intonation.
Super small size. Swivel face allows for use on front of, or behind headstock.
I don't really use the poly function but it's interesting to do a quick check for initial, rough tuning when doing a string change, etc.
Perfect tuning
It's a wonderful tuner. To be able to quickly check all the strings at once is awesome.
I'm a gadget guy so I didn't mind spending the money.
I like it
I like the polyphonic tuner, because I have a terrible time of tuning guitars. This helps know when I am in the correct key or not. Without this tuner, I'm only "guessing" at the accuracy of the guitar key.
A definite upgrade ..
I needed to replace a tuner that quit working and took the time to research the best choices available and ended up deciding on the PolyTune Clip. After playing a couple of gigs with the Polytune, I'm very happy with the choice. The other tuner would get me close, but I always had to fine tune with my ear afterwards. The Polytune gets me straight on with very little need for fine tuning. It's a bit more expensive, but worth the additional investment.
Always Impressed with Sweetwater
Quick Shipment, Great service and very friendly. My business will continue with sweet water. Love my Poly Tuner, packaged well and came fast.
Not Accurate & Awkward Clip
Used this for a couple of months, but not happy with tuning accuracy. Also has an awkward clip with metal that can scratch the guitar. I had to add rubber bands to prevent scratches on my Taylor. Replaced with other less expensive product that I like better.
Fantastic tuner!
This is the best tuner I have used so far. Absolutely fantastic design and super accurate. I don't see how you could get a better tuner than this. I am super impressed with how well it work, how easy it is to use and how easy it is to read. Only takes me 5 seconds to get my guitar back in perfect tune. It's the first thing I do whenever I pick up my guitar. Fantastic!
I like it!
No nonsense reliable headstock tuner.
Good visibility in low light.
Totally awesome tuner .. Could not be happier with it!
This is a fantastic tuner. Absolutely fantastic. I love it! Worth every single penny!
Accurate and Easy to Use!
Nice little tuner! Sensitive, accurate, and easy to use.
Only complaint is that it shuts down at a pre-programmed time, sometimes in the middle of a long tuning session and needs to be restarted.
TC Electronoc Polytune Clip-On Polyphonic Tuner
I've found that it's more accurate than the Snark clip-on I was using during a show.
It looks great. . . sleek, and works very well.
I do have a slight problem with the tiny ( on/off ) button which is tough to
locate because of its position and size.
Very Satisfied
I love this tuner. It's sleek, well built and affordable. Other tuners continued to let me down, consistently failing to tune the B-String on my 5 String Bass. I bought this tuner a couple weeks ago and just bought two more so each bass will have its own tuner.
Thank you to Max Rapp for reaching out and making sure I was happy with my purchase.
Amazing
My last tuner was a Sony tuner that plugged in between the guitar and the amp via the 1/4in cable. I admit it was a few years old, but it worked well for years. Being in the market for a new, easier to use, tuner, I looked at the PolyTune. It had been recommended to me and I took a chance on it. Let's just say that I love this tuner. The polyphonic tuning ability is very useful, and amazing. I use the string by string tuning capability most frequently. It is very easy to use and extremely accurate. If you are in the market for a new tuner, don't hesitate.
Perfect!
Simple and accurate.
Taylor Martin
Excellent tuner
Love the new color
Only issue with the product is the rubber
On the clip that protects the headstock
Wears out over a period of time
Slick little tuner
I've been using a Snark for the past few years and it's been falling apart from the beginning.
This one doesn't have the breakable points and folds flat, for easy transport and staying out of the way while attached to my head stock. Very well built and appears to be robust enough to take some punishment.
Tuning options are great as well.
Wish I'd bought this first, but now that I've found this one, I'll never buy a different tuner again.
Polytune Clip
Great tuner. Fits my PRS SE Custom headstock just fine. Half a star for turning off before I'm done tuning. Maybe go from 3 minutes to 5 minutes for auto shut off. Otherwise excellent. The polytune is a nice, quick "am I close?" Check.
Solid tuner-esp for banjos
This tuner is rock solid on all my banjos, mandolins and guitar. The banjos seemed to cause tuner issues with the other popular brand, but not these. Rock. Solid. No squirrelly jumping around or failures to show the tuning. Excellent. Switching over to these as a result. Expensive but well-built, easy to use and just solid all around.
Excellent Clip-on Tuner!
Great value for so many features. Seems robust as I've dropped it a few times and keeps on working.
Besides the single string and polyphonic features, here's what makes it better than others I've tried.
-Can use for open tunings. Seems like this shouldn't be an issue as a string is a string, but can't tell you all the tuners I've tried that won't work well with open tuning. I use open tuning on one guitar exclusively, and this tuner works great.
-Works great on 12 string guitars. Same as above, you'd think this wouldn't be an issue, but again, have tried many tuners that don't work well or don't work at all. Maybe they get confused by the overtones, not sure. But this one works great!
So many tuners to choose from, just get this one and be done with it!
Best clip-on ever
My Fractal Audio devices and Neural DSP plug-ins all have great tuners built in. Even so, nothing beats the ease and practicality of the TC polyphonic. One strum, a quick adjustment(if necessary), and go. I would, however, like to see TC think about 7 and 8 string polyphonic tuners as their current offering is geared for 6 only.
And a quick shout to the folks Sweetwater. My usual gear source was utterly unable to provide what I needed. They took the online order, then a couple days later notified me by email that my order was cancelled because they didn't actually have the tuner available. Sweetwater on the other hand took the order, kept me posted with delivery updates, and delivered exactly what they said they'd deliver exactly when they said they'd deliver it. Bravo!
great tuner
works very well worth the extra for full tune !!!!
my favorite tuner
easy to read display. accurate. tuner stays on reasonable amount of time, but tuner may automatically turn off before you are ready to turn it off. main gripe is that the on/off and other buttons are difficult to engage.
PolyTune Clip on Tuner
Works great, but the instructions are a bit lacking.
Great tuner!
I got this one because of the advertised accuracy so I could set up my guitars. Bonus: it fits a PRS headstock and the PolyTune is really handy. It's also quite small (in a good way, I don't have trouble reading it).
Polytune clip tuner
Nice display. A little over priced.
Fantastic Little Tuner
Works great. Easy to use in all modes and easy to get precise tuning on all strings. PolyTune feature is very handy for quick overall check os strings.
Minor annoyances
This has some features I like a lot, such as the "capo" tuning modes, but there are a couple of things that I find irritating. There is an automatic shut off after several minutes, but this unit will shut off even if you are still using it.
The other problem is that, given that there is no rubber pad on the clamp, the slick metal tends to slip out of your grasp when pinched together. Mine has hit the floor several times even though I am trying to be careful with it. I have started back using my other clip -ons and only get this one out when I need one of the special tuning modes. Still, though, the tuner has some amazing capabilities.
TC Electronic PolyTune Clip-on Tuner
I've got four other brands of clip-on tuners, but this one is the best of the bunch.
Very easy to use, and I love the way the readout looks and works. Great item!
my second Polytune
This is my 2nd Polytune purchased through Sweetwater. It was my hope that this unit would track low 3 better than my first Polytune unit. What Ive noticed is that in order for the polytune feature to register all 6 strings as in tune with a single open string strum, you must tune low E a bit sharp. This applies to tuning via the regular tuning mode or the strobe mode. Ive also tested this across multiple different guitars with the same result. Ive cross referenced this against other clip on tuners I own and it seems to be the same. Polytune seems to have a hard time with tracking low E.
Best tuner I’ve found.
I think I own nearly every electronic tuner made. When I got the Polytune, it was a real game changer. Most electronic tuners will get the tuning close but the Polytune nails it in tune.
Hands down, it's the best tuner I've ever used
gDGBD; gCGCD, etc.
Using it for my 5-string banjo, working well so far.
Accurate as TC PolyTune clip-ons are.
It is probably close to being the best clip-on tuner available. Only problem, it is advertised as being able to tune all strings at once in the polyphonic mode. It does but in Guitar mode only. Not in Bass. Take one star off for that. It does have 3 tuning modes but if you want just a simple accurate tuner that gets the job done I would suggest the standard less expensive Polytune clip-on, non-polyphonic. Especially if a bassist.
