While employing the FabFilter Pro Q3 and ultimately Pro L2 to set analog input reference gain I accidentally deleted the BlueCat PatchWork plugin from my vocal track instead of the Q3 plugin (all in Ableton). Bye bye hours of anguish and sweat! Then I deleted Q3 added PatchWork and loaded my vocal track PatchWork save and all that wae lost was now returned to me as set (last saved parameters). Thank you thank you BlueCat!
I love this thing
I had one little glitch when I tried to copy a rack to another rack. It kept showing a * indicating it was changed. So I created another rack from scratch. It has level controls for the serial chain, levels for each parallel input and output and levels for the output. You can rearrange plugins by dragging to any open slot and shifting them around. CPU resources are great (about 37% max) and I'm running the following: Series: FabFilter Q3; HorNet VU; Studder A800; 1176LN; LA-2A Gray; Parallel: 1 - BBE Mach 3; Harmonic max; Sonic max; Loudness max; 2 - Studio D Chorus; 3 - Pure Plate Reverb; 4 - Lexicon 224; Series: Fairchild 660; HorNet VU... on each track Vocal1 and Guitar. Then another one on the master track Series: API 2500; Fairchild 670; FabFilter Q3 That's a ton of stuff on an Ableton Live 11 Lite and everything's behaving itself. I haven't worked the two sends (Lite limitation) yet, but I'm confident they'll be fine.
Initially intimidated now sold
I didn't want to have to take on another extensive learning process so I first said no. Then my other chainer dropped out the right channel (on a mono input) like it was a cold solder joint. I waste about two seconds on a slow day when things don't work properly, so I bought this. Yes the manual is extensive, but the intuitive interface is not. Right click VST3 chose plugin, hit enter, add more rows or columns with the button, drag plugins around to play with the order. That's it for the effects plugin. Took two seconds to decide this was my goto chainer. External side-chain works great. Everything does.
Awesome
I had a lot of Au, Vst3 plugins. Now I have access to about 100 plugins. Awesome
Thank you
Great app A useful program in solving the problems of pro tools aax ....
Awesome utility for creating multi’s
I purchased this app after reviewing it. I am a propellerhead reason user and had an issue with being able to send midi data from one vst to another. I found that I was able to do this very easily with this app. Also I was able to build multi"s which was mind blowing. Your only limited by your computer resources.
Can't without anymore...
Without PW as a instrument host for my Access Virus and DSI Evolver i'm unable to use my hardware synths "plugged out" in Pro Tools. And since BlueCat brought the flexible audio / midi routing onto the table, it is a killer tool for me - i just can't live without BC PatchWork anymore.
What's to think about!
You can use your VST and AU plug-ins inside of Protools 11, which supports only AAX, You can update all your VST and AU plugins to AAX or spend $79 bucks. You do the math!
Blue Cat Audio PatchWork Plug-in
It does what it is supposed to do and more!
Love it Love It!!!!!
Finally somebody doing somerthing right. Virtual Patchbay Damn this is great. Im on a mac so you can host AU and VST inside of pro tools 11. If you dont get anything else you better buy this cause this will save your ass straight up. THANK YOU THANK YOU Tony Dayton. Sweetwater all day
Great Plugin!
Incredible plugin, lets you use AU and VST plugins within the Pro Tools environment. Works exactly as it should! Worth the money. I am now using this with pro tools 11, with this installed, I can use my hardware plugin controllers designed for VST to control my plugins! Great!
Awesome Product
PatchWork does everything that it says it does. I've been running a collection of VST instruments in PT11 without a single glitch or hiccup. The sessions I run usually have many instances of this plugin running a variety of VSTi's.
It works great with delay compensation. In fact, there was a plugin I used to run in PT10 that hadn't upgraded to AAX yet. When I would run the plugin in PT10 I would get all kinds of delay issues, but running the exact same plugin inside PatchWork in PT11 I have perfect sync.
I get way more value out of the product than the small price I paid. Well worth it!
Does what it's supposed to do.
This is one of those plugins that just simply works. There is nothing exciting about it other than the fact that it allows me to run VST plugins in Pro Tools 10 and 11. But the fact that it does it smoothly, without any hangups or issues, makes it worth every penny. As far as I know, up until now, this is the best bang for the buck for those people who want to run plugins that have not been ported over to AAX format yet. Or for people who have plugins that will NEVER be ported over to AAX format.
To purchase or not to purchase!
Word of Caution: Download the demo version first if you are using it to load vst plugins within a non-vst daw. Also please note that this software may not work if using vst2 or vst3 plugins. I bought this so I could use the stock plugins that came with cakewalk within pro tools. Only about half of the plugins work. The other half make pro tools crash unexpectedly. However, the plugins that don't cause problems work 100%. Overall I am very grateful for what bluecat has done with this product. If you try the demo version and it works for you, then there is no need to even second guess.
