Active A/B Mic Switcher/Muting Box with Power Supply

Part of what makes live performances so exciting is that you never know what's going to happen. This is doubly true if you're the performer. Be prepared to shut your mic off or send it backstage in an instant, when you're plugged into the Panic Button from Pro Co. Whenever anything goes wrong, the Panic Button lets you get the attention of your roadie, the FOH guy, or other essential personnel, without your request going over the main sound system. By connecting your vocal mic to both the FOH system and an alternate location, you can toggle between the locations you want to send your voice, which means the crowd will never hear you asking for more monitors! Want an instant mute button? Don't connect anything to output B, and you can kill your mic with a toe tap. The show must go on, and the Panic Button lets it go on without the crowd knowing you even had a problem!

Great for use as a volume boost for solo's utilizing 2 channels on your mixer!!

By Terry E. from Rochester, Pennsylvania
Music Background: 20+ Years Gigging Musician

For anyone that use's the natural drive of their vintage amps that have no effects loop and need an easy way to get a volume boost for solos, this is a great way to do it...

I used to constantly walk to my amp and manually turn up the volume before a guitar solo and then have to turn it back down after...total pain. I came up with an idea to use this little footswitch instead. It lets me control an A/B XLR routing with the mic I use on my vintage Marshall and Super Reverb amps. The amp mic runs into this footswitch and out of the footswitch it goes to 2 channels on our mixer for the A & B routing. A is the normal rhythm guitar sound and the B channel is set to have a gain boost on the mic through the PA system as well as adding in some mids via the mixer to make my solos stand out and sound wayyy better. It works great! Just in case it's of use to anyone else.

Bomb proof and versatile

By Rick V. from SLC
Music Background: Gigging Musician

This thing is indestructible and way more versatile than expected. The dip switches allow you to customize the switch functions for a variety of uses and the ability to run it off pedal board power, the included adapter, or a 9V battery is a nice plus since our dedicated vocalist doesn't have a pedal board. Like others have mentioned there's no pop, or other noise, when the switch is engaged. Plus, it says "Panic Button" on it, which is super appropriate for a talk back mic.

Audible pops in line

By Arjun K.

It would be a great solution for muting and line output switching, except it has a quite audible pop in the audio signal when pressing the switch. This happened for me on both battery and AC power. Might be fine for louder live music but I'm looking for something that I can silently mute my instrument to tune during ensemble performances, during even the quiet moments.

Built like a tank!

By Travis T. from Rogersville

Works great and silent! Don't forget to read that manual! There is dip switches inside the pedal.

Exactly what I needed

By Luke S.
Music Background: Singer/songwriter

Singer of a band here. I love being able to switch to the bands in ears and make changes or tell jokes in the middle of a song. This pedal is exactly what I was looking for.

Fantastic tool for live settings

By First B. from Tomball, TX

We have been using this for a couple of years as a tool for the worship leader/producer to talk to anyone that has ears in during the service. GREAT tool!

A Life Saver On Stage

By Justin from Central Florida
Music Background: Worship Leader

This pedal has been exactly what I"ve been needing. It gives me the ability to seamlessly and discretely communicate with the rest of the musicians on stage. I use a condenser vocal mic and the switching is dead quiet and pop free. This is a must have for anyone needing a talkback line.

Great Pedal for what I need

By Nathan from Eau Claire, WI

Easy to set up. Easy to use. No complaints. I use this pedal to send my mic signal to a separate channel that only my band can hear. Helps on stage communication. Good quality pedal for what I need.

Great tool!

By Grande B. from Detroit
Music Background: Worship Leader

I love the Panic Button. I'm a worship leader and we do worship a little different at church - we'll spend 15 minutes on one song and play it in various configurations. The Panic Button allows me to communicate with the band and let them know exactly where we're heading - making the fluid and often unpredictable nature of our worship times much easier to navigate!

Fantastic tool for live looping artists

By Ian E. from Arizona
Music Background: Professional Solo Performer

I've been using a Panic Button for nearly 4 years for live performance, and it's become an invaluable piece of my gear. I live-loop with a Boss RC-300, which has a mic input. The Panic Button allows me to A/B my microphone, so it only gets recorded when I hit the switch. This is fantastic for those times when I want to record long guitar lines but only a short piece of vocals, all in one phrase. Output A goes direct to my mixer, Output B goes to the looper. Everything about this device is rock-solid, and mine has been 100% trouble free for over 1000 live gigs already, with no signs of wear, no noise, and no hassles. Switching is dead silent, and the mic gain control really works. My only [very minor] complaint (and reason for the 4.5 star rating) is that it's not exactly easy to attach to a pedalboard with the typical velcro method due to the rubber feet. But I swapped the feet out for two strips of wood, which now hold velcro just fine. If it [ever?] breaks, I only hope they're still making them because I'll replace it ASAP. It's one of my favorite pieces of gear!

Great Device

By Brett from Texas

This is perfect for me because I need the ability to talk primarily to the band during music, but also lead the congregation. I can easily switch back and forth between the inputs. Perfect for our needs!

House of Worship - Improves Communication

By Colton K. from Liberty Center, IN
Music Background: Vocalist/Worship Leader

The Panic Button is perfect for any worship leader that needs the capability to connect with the band or vocalists (via wireless in ear monitors) without anyone else knowing. I lead from Keys in our House of Worship and we tend to go off set quite a bit. This awesome button allows me to switch between both Channels A & B. I have one routed for FOH and one for In-Ear use only. There is no buzz or popping when switching between them. There is an on and off power switch for convenience. The light above the button is very bright and illuminates Green for Output A and Red for Output B. Requires 9V power (which is supplied in the box) or a 9V Battery (sold separately) if you don't want to plug it in. It's durable metal structure and button will last me forever. If you want the ease and convenience of silently talking to your team in a live setting, then this is for you. This is much more discrete than having two separate microphones for the worship leader. It has helped me communicate with the worship team and create better flow and less distraction during our services. Love it! Thanks to Sweetwater for always giving incredible customer service and quality products. Blessings!

Awesome Product!

By Timothy P. from United States
Music Background: Music Director, Song Writer.

I love the Panic Button and what it allows me to do. I am a music director at a church in Austin Texas and this bad boy allows me to communicate to the band as well as singing and leading songs.

The A/B switch is just what we needed. The only small thing is that when switching to the B channel there is some small unwanted fuzz. I will try and tweak that signal but, other than that this works flawlessly. One small hiccup I had setting up was the instructions and the diagram showing the dip switches. It was kind of confusing but, with some trial and error I found what I needed.

The only thing that works

By Norman P. from United States
Music Background: Worship leader/string player

For communication between team members in harp and bowl worship, the panic button excels. As a chorus is developed by a team member but they are unsure of the musical component, they switch with the button to communicate the short chorus to the worship leader who then develops the new chorus to sing. No pops when switching, works great!
