This stuff is really the best for the job however, it does react with some rubber

By Jackie M. from Needville, TX

I have used this stuff for years and it never fails me. Holds everything in place perfectly. I am using it on a wooden pedalboard with no issues. That said, I do have a minor complaint. I read that this does not cause any problems or interfere with your pedal and that it safe for pedal storage. I am in the process of re-doing my pedalboard after 2 months of trial use. Just needed some minor tweaking. So, I removed all my pedals and felt something sticky on the bottom of my Dunlop mini volume pedal. When I turned it over to look, the adhesive on the hook and loop tape had melted the rubber on the bottom of the pedal to the point where the adhesive had soaked through the hook and loop tape up to the hook part. I tried everything on the rubber to get it clean but nothing worked. Had to order a replacement bottom for it because I didn't want to stick that gooey rubber side on the inside of the pedal and the screw holes weren't recessed on the metal side of the bottom. Hope that makes sense. Just want everyone to know that it may react. That said, I also had this stuff on two BOSS pedals and it absolutely would not stick to the rubber. When I pulled the pedals off, the hook part was stuck on the board to the loop part. I ordered some 3D printed bottoms that fit over the rubber and then stuck the hook and loop tape to that. Hopefully that won't react, time will tell.

I've gone through multiple rolls!

By Sweetwater Customer

I've gone through multiple rolls of this hook and loop tape and never had a problem. Highly recommended! Just don't be hasty and misplace it. Having to pull it off renders it too weak for a second application. But that seems like common sense.
Great product!

Been using it for years with no problems.

By Steve from California
Music Background: Worship leader, studio musician, live gigs with local bands and cover bands

I have been gigging with Pedaltrain Hook and Loop tape for several years with (almost) zero problems. The only times I've ever had issues are 1) if I applied the tape then pulled it off to move it to another spot, 2) if I painted a pedals surface with a paint that doesn't adhere to the pedal or the tape very well, like most shiny metallic paints (copper, silver, gold), or 3) if I tried to put a tiny bit on the edges of a Boss pedal (come on, Roland!). Don't do any of these things, and this stuff will serve you perfectly!

Works great!

By Scott B. from Provo, UT

I got two of these and used it to mount all my son's pedals to his new pedaltrain pedalboard and then I used it to mount all my pedals to 19" rackmount blank panels. It works great - secure connection (both on the sticky side and on the velcro side).

Wonderful

By GuzelStride from Las Vegas, NV

I highly recommend ignoring the negative reviews here. Perhaps they got a bad batch, but this stuff sticks well on all sides and Sweetwater is always quick to correct a mistake.

I have seen very small pieces come off of a pedal before, but that's just basic science. These isn't enough surface area for it to get a good grip. I've never seen it pull off of larger pedals or a pedal board.

If you have a PedalTrain board, it only makes sense to get the matching hook-and-loop.

Yeah, I got to give a 5 here to this Hook N Loop

By George L. from Lebanon Oregon
Music Background: 50 Plus years guitar, some harmonica and keys

I haven't had any issues with peeling of the backing and in fact it's actually far easier to peel then 3M or Velcro brands. The hook and loop holds steady enough. I suppose if your trying to hang a battleship from the bottom of your board then you might have issues, but the fuzzy stuff and such are again superior to the name brands such as I have found for my usage. Not sure what all the hate is about, this is good stuff and you get quite a bit of length for your money.

Does the backing even peel off?

By Brett S. from Roseville, CA

The Pedaltrain velcro is so frustrating to work with. Peeling the backing off is pain. The backing doesn't want to peel off. My advice is to spend more - buy the real thing.

Spend your money on something else

By Mojoe M. from DeSoto, MO
Music Background: Weekend warrior bass player, vocalist, and soundman for a couple decades

I got the pedaltrain classic 1 and this material comes with it. It was rather disappointing even compared to the stuff I've bought at craft stores previously. Adhesive is pretty mediocre and the actual hook and loop is pretty poor. For the pedals it holds them to the top of the board well enough, but the power supply underneath it cannot hold up. Either the hook and loop lets go or the adhesive comes off from the power supply getting warm. (Cioks micro power supply) If this comes with your board, I'd buy something else, if you're just looking for something to stick to a board you already have, I'd certainly avoid it.

The adhesive is worthless.

By Tyler G. from Butler, IN

Picked this up to work on my pedalboard which is still a work-in-progress so I need to take pedals off an on my board a lot. The adhesive on these strips are less strong than the actual velcro, I've had to reapply these several times and I have to cut any sharp corners off to reduce the risk of them coming off. Do yourself a favor and find some hook-and-loop with some stronger adhesive.

No Better

By Rodney H. from Dallas, TX
Music Background: Professional Touring / Studio Guitarist

I purchased a Pedaltrain Classic 2 TC 24"x12.5" Pedalboard with Tour Case, about 3 years ago (and it came with plenty to cover the board, any pedals and still have plenty left)…. I've loaded it with pedals (and a power supply because I didn't mount it underneath), and let me just say this… I've changed pedals, added/removed pedals, reconfigured pedals, etc., and every time I have to pull like a mofo… This stuff DOES NOT… I repeat, DOES NOT wear out easily… I'm only thinking of buying new to change colors… But to be honest, I'm a little afraid of trying to take the old off… If you're looking for a way to attach a pedal to a pedalboard, look no further… If you're scared, just say it…. Lol… Just kidding, not really…

Pedaltrain Official Hook-and-Loop Pack

By Robin W. from EVANSVILLE, IN
Music Background: Guitar Player (7 on a scale of 10) and singer

This is the perfect stuff for your pedal board. I give it only 4.5 stars because it is sometimes a challenge to get the backing paper off of the roll. While this is an aggravation, it would not dissuade me from buying this product. Once you get it down, your pedals don't move!!

Don't Know What Low Reviews are Talking About

By Lachlan A. from NJ

For mounting pedals and music kit it is absolutely superb. On clean surfaces the adhesive has a very strong hold and the hook & loop is almost too strong when fresh.

I was able to mount a Truetone CS12 to the side of a rack with about 60% coverage (leaving the dip switches uncovered) and it holds great. Does a nice job on my pedals as well, nice solid hold.

Excellent Hold

By David J. from SPARTANBURG, SC

JUST RIGHT for a pedal board.

By Brad from Nashville
Music Background: Pro

I have used both the Pedaltrain stuff and the Velcro name brand stuff. The Pedaltrain stuff works better in my opinion because you CAN REMOVE a pedal easily. Where as the Velcro brand stuff holds so strong that you really have to STRUGGLE to exchange/move a pedal. Also, to make the Pedaltrain or the Velcro stuff hold better, all you have to do is push down on the pedal and slightly twist the pedal back and forth a little bit and that process seats the hook and loop together making both kinds hold better. For me, the Velcro brand is great stuff but too strong for a pedal board. The Pedaltrain stuff is JUST RIGHT for a pedal board. Another tip, no matter which hook and loop stuff you use. I wipe the surfaces off with Lacquer thinner before applying the stuff. I never had either come loose/off.

Great product

By Barry J. from Louisville
Music Background: 25 years of playing and gigging. Esp worship settings.

I"ve used this stuff for years. After a few years you"ll need to replace one side or the other, but if you like to change pedals in and out every so often, this is the way to go. It just works. Just be sure to clean the surfaces with rubbing alcohol and let dry before applying, but that"s true for any brand of Velcro etc.

Horrible Product

By Sweetwater Customer

Absolutely no function whatsoever. It holds the pedals flimsy at best, requires almost no force to dislodge pedals from the board. Now I have to spend extra money to get velcro from a hardware store

Sticks like a fly on a fly trap

By Emile
Music Background: Bassist

Very strong adhesive that sits on my pedalboard (I made one from wood, so was nervous that the adhesive would have a little trouble sticking to the wood treatment) - no problem at all.

Pedals are sticking like flies on a fly trap/gum to the underside of a chair/wet toilet paper to a roof/etc. (not like glue though)
Even though I haven't tried shaking the board upside down to see if they'll stick, I'm sure I won't ever be doing that.

I would recommend it, as you get a lot of tape and it cuts easily with a scissor.
