Designed to David Grissom's Exacting Specs
Few guitarists know their way around a guitar better than David Grissom, so you can be sure that when his impeccable taste is combined with the PRS Private Stock Program’s master luthiery, you’re getting a truly world-class instrument! The #9774 DGT Semi-hollow boasts a timeless tonewood combination of a mahogany body and an East Coast curly maple top to deliver incredible sustain, with an articulation-boosting bite. An East Indian rosewood neck is carved into a supremely comfortable DGT neck profile, and the rosewood/figured maple fingerboard features a gorgeous Owls in Flight inlay pattern — designed in part by Sweetwater’s own Thom Grant. Two DGT humbuckers put the power of a ‘50s PAF at your fingertips, and the rock-solid hardware combo of Phase III locking tuners and a Gen III tremolo offer unyielding tuning stability.

Unique DGT features for outstanding playability
This Private Stock DGT is not your typical PRS guitar; it contains many signature features included specifically at David Grissom’s request. The gorgeously figured top will have you staring at the guitar for hours, like fine art in a gallery. You’ll love the feel of the DGT profile neck carve — a slightly smaller version of the PRS wide-fat profile — and custom DGT frets. The PRS DGT is a ready and willing workhorse, no matter what style of music you’re playing. You don’t need to worry about staying in tune, as the Phase III locking tuners (embellished with figured maple buttons) will ensure tuning stability all night long.
Classic tonewood pairing
The #9774 DGT SH’s mahogany body and East Coast curly maple top have a heritage that goes back all the way to the '50s. This pairing of tonewoods is renowned for one quality above all others: long, long sustain. Mahogany is a staple for solidbody guitars like the #9774, due to its strong fundamental tone. The curly maple top then imparts a bite and articulation that is a fantastic complement to the mahogany’s full tone — plus, it works particularly well with the bassy dual-humbucker configuration.
DGT electronics deliver a colossal tone arsenal
The PRS #9774 DGT Semi-Hollow features the exclusive David Grissom DGT humbucking pickups, which are modeled after vintage PAF humbuckers. You can deploy a formidable arsenal of premium electric guitar tone thanks to Grissom’s preferred wiring and control scheme: two volume controls and a push/pull coil split on the tone pot. From massive crunch and searing high-gain to spanky single-coil cleans, this setup provides you with an enormous tonal palette to nail any sound you’re after.
