What is a Paul Reed Smith Private Stock Guitar?
Private Stock guitars are simply the finest guitars that PRS builds. Not a "line" or a "model" at all, but an exclusive handful of instruments created by the most esteemed craftsmen at PRS. Each Private Stock guitar is absolutely unique.
Crafted from some of the finest pieces of lumber in the world
Originally, when a load of instrument-quality lumber arrived at PRS, craftsmen sorted through the material and set the "best of the best" aside, sometimes designating certain pieces for bodies, necks or fingerboards. Eventually, this collection of the finest lumber became known as "Paul's Private Stash," - as in Paul Reed Smith's - and, soon enough, the most talented, seasoned guitar makers at PRS began applying their skill toward the creation of these Private Stock instruments.

To ensure that every Private Stock guitar is the finest instrument possible, each guitar passes through the careful hands of elite PRS craftsmen and luthiers. Finally, Paul Reed Smith personally checks the guitar and signs it as a way of passing on his approval. Each guitar then receives a Private Stock number along with a letter of authenticity describing the specifications and features of that particular instrument.

With its head-turning East Coast Curly Maple top, Agoya birds with 14k gold outline inlays, and headstock eagle inlay, the Paul Reed Smith Private Stock Custom 22 is simply a gorgeous instrument.
