Beautiful Bass active electronics work amazingly!

By Raymond Boucher on December 9, 2022 Music Background: Retired semi-pro

Well, what can I say, picked it up at Fedex depot this morning. Georgeous to look at, flawless finish. Electronics work extremely well, too beautiful for words. Every bass player should own one. Thank you Alan and the folks at Sweetwater for you assistance to purchase this wonderful instrument. Excellent workmanship and best purchasing experience.

Squier Contemporary Active Precision Bass PH - Sunset Metallic Totally Rocks

By Tom from Austin, Texas on March 16, 2022 Music Background: Semi-Pro

This bass was awesome right off the shelf. Its very punchy, loud and fat. The active electronics and Squier humbucker pickups make it scream. The paint is very striking and will catch anyone's attention. The black headstock really keeps the bass looking tough. The new bridge and graphite nut are welcome additions too. I own several Squier basses than this one is moving to the top of my stock for sure. Be prepared for some outright power from this bass, no mods needed at all. The tone controls work better than most active basses as they seem to work together rather than just boost or compete. Totally love it and would recommend it for sure.

Not bad for the price...

By Robert from LawnGuyland, NY on July 28, 2022 Music Background: 38 years on Bass, Luthier, Sound Engineer, Producer

I was drawn to this bass due to the gorgeous neck (roasted maple, w/ an Indian Laurel board)and the metallic sunset body finish. looks fantastic. Being somewhat capable as a luthier I find I will need to do a fret level and recrown to get the most out of this beauty. My one and only real complaint is the rather severe volume drop off when combining both pickups.
Most of my basses that are more than one pickup are louder when the pickups are combined, though they are mostly passive with a VVT control setup and if I max one volume out there is a noticeable difference in volume output and tone...so I guess this is to be expected, however I do not have the same issue with my active basses(Ibanez S@1200 and G&L L2000's and L2500), I suspect it is due to these being true passive pickups with an active preamp thrown in. At this price point I won't complain, but felt y'all should be aware...as for me I'll just keep the balance biased more on the neck pickup.
