Incredible sounds, deal is better than listed

By Scott from Houston
Music Background: Piano/keyboard hobbyist

It's hard to believe some of these sounds aren't sampled until you play around with them a bit and realize they sound better than sampled libraries. You will not find a better way to expand your library in a more complete and higher quality way than this package at this price.

The blurb on the sales page is incomplete. This package now includes Multiphonics CV-1 modular synthesizer! Or at least, mine did.

Applied Acoustics Systems AAS - Modeling Collection Virtual Instrument Bundle

By Sweetwater Customer

I have been a customer of AAS for several years and own a licence for nearly every VST product they sell. I purchased this bundled deal for installation on a newer Windows 10 PC. I could have transferred my licences however the Windows 7 PC they are installed on has additional VST and music software from many other vendors installed and works exceptionally well as configured. My primary reason for migrating to a Windows 10 PC was that my Presonus Studio One 5 DAW update and Notion 6 update are no longer supported by Windows 7.

The bundle I purchased included 5 VST instruments and 1 "Acoustic filter and Delay" a.k.a "Objeq Delay".

The 5 VST instruments include: (All latest released versions)

Chromaphone 3 Acoustic Object Synthesizer
Lounge Lizard EP-4 Electric Piano
String Studio VS-3 String Oscillator Synthesizer
Ultra Analog VA-3 Analog Synthesizer
Strum GS-2 Acoustic\Electric Guitar Synthesizer

What makes all these products unique is the sophisticated, high quality mathematical models AAS has developed
and employed which gives these powerful simulations their amazing flexibility and clear, natural sound without the need of referencing gigabytes of wave file samples on your PC hard drive. The additional libraries available from AAS are composed of professionally engineered presets which are inexpensive, download quickly and take up relatively little space on your disk. It is also a simple matter to tweek the presets in order to create your own additional custom, personal sound libraries.

Although these simulations may sound extremely good a professional musician may wonder how even a very good emulation could possibly compare to the sound of a real instrument. Doubtless it is impossible to duplicate all the complex subtleties of a Stradivarius violin. It must be realized however that even very expensive physical instruments can't approach such quality. It must also be recognized that even extremely expensive professionally sampled sound libraries are limited not only by the competence of the sound engineer but by the equipment they have available and the conditions under which the recordings were made. My point is that even live recorded sound bytes cannot exactly duplicate all the subtle nuances of a live performance. In addition to the cost of such high quality, professionally sampled sound library collections is the issue of the giga bytes of storage required for what may be a difference only a trained ear could detect. These emulations may not be perfect, however they are very good and any major differences in the quality of the sound can easily be adjusted or would most likely be masked in the mix. This complete bundle even at list price probably costs less than a single high quality sampled library.

This package is an excellent addition to most any modern DAW. I have personally used it with SONAR Platinum, FL Studio 20 and Presonus Studio One Pro ver 1 through 5. This package is a terrific addition to any DAW's supplied collection of VST synths.

Each of these products is tailored to a specific niche although there is some overlap in capabilities between some of the VST modules. While they are all very good my two favorites are STRUM and Chromaphone 3. Strum is a simple to use, powerful keyboard oriented tool for creating professional sounding electric or acoustic guitar simulations. Chromaphone 3 is a bit more complicated to explain however it is powerful, fun to experiment with and provides unique sound creation options not possible with the stock VSTs available within most DAW environments.

*** ( I have not tried the newer versions on Windows 7 or with Apple or Linux OS so I would check with AAS for confirmation of their compatibility).
